This man was found lying on the ground behind The Tea Garden in San Fran. Emergency services showed up and took him to the hospital. He was comatose, and he'd suffered cardiac failure from a drug overdose. He died later.
He was 5'8 and 155 pounds. He had blond hair and blue eyes, which is a fairly rare combo so should make it easy to distinguish him.
So no clothing/accessories are listed right now.
Despite being found alive, no morgue photo or sketch is up.

Post-mortem pictures are available on his NamUs now.

@Caring1 could you post his exclusions if there are any?

What do you think about James Colin Egan?
He is originally from Wisconsin, but called his parents from San Francisco to tell them, that he would be travelling home soon. The call to his parents was approx. 1,5 years before the UID was found, which is a time gap, but it could still be possible. He has blue eyes and blond hair, he is 5'9 (UID 5'8, so no big difference). His NamUs pictures show him at age 15/16 and in my opinion there is a resemblance. According to NamUs Colin's left hand is slightly deformed and there is no information on distinctive physical features of the UID, but I would not dismiss him, because the profiles of old cases are often rather sparse on information.

DNA is listed as unknown. I suppose he was probably cremated and nothing saved DNA could be gotten from? Of course, hopefully that's not the case. This is a sad, long ago story. It would be nice if he could be identified. https://www.doenetwork.org/cases/software/main.html?id=4797umca

Some time between 1971 (concrete date) and 1981 (if I remember right based on some other cases I read about on this forum?) is when San Francisco stopped burying the UID dead and started cremating them instead. The exact date isn't known (or at least, this journalist who tried to figure it out in 2024 couldn't narrow it down any further, and she only got it between 1971-1992). This body could possibly still exist and exhumation might be possible.

Keep in mind when a Doe Network profile has a field listed as "Unknown" that simply means the compiler was unaware of the status for that data point, and is not a synonym for "Unavailable" or "Undetermined."

He could have been a tourist from Scandinavia, or have Scandinavian ancestry, as the combination of blond (or even whiteblond) hair and blue eyes are very common here. For blue eyes - more than 75%; blond hair - about the same, so a high probability for having both.
