ITA. Weren't a whole bunch of posters here upset Zimmerman didn't say he was sorry. Well now he did and they are upset over that.

I think what is so bothersome about this timely apology is that George had from Feb 27th, thru to the day he hired his attny to apologise to the Martins but instead posted on his own website everything else BUT an apology. You have to admit this appears to be self serving at this point :moo:

Someone who seems to be up to no good circles your car three times, do you decide to get out of your car and follow him? Please factor in that you don't know if he is armed or not.

Good for him for apologizing. Of course that is somehow seen as a bad thing now...

I imagine hearing (paraphrasing) "I'm sorry your son is dead. I didn't know how how old he was and didn't know if he was armed," is not the apology they were looking for.

Vinnie P just said "He is OUT on bond 9 days after his arrest" He is out? I just woke up.. so forgive me :)

You gotta love the irony of a court system that's going to turn a killer back loose amongst those of us who live here, yet required him to be bound and shackled while in their presense in the courtroom. :banghead:

Even prosecutor admitted today that it was Zimmerman that might be more in danger from the public than public is in danger from Zimmerman.

Overall I was impressed everyone this morning except maybe the investigator.

O'Mara seemed very cool and calm whereas the SA was very forceful..guess time will time which the jury will like better.

Very happy with the judge. Very well spoken. He seemed to allow some leeway but not too much. Very quick to make a decision, so glad he didn't defer his ruling.

Didn't care for GZ's apology at this time but then again the public seemed to be screeching for it.

Although many here were critical of GZ's family I found them favorable and believe they helped with the public perception of both themselves and him.

As to the medical report, I posted several times that during one of the early live press conferences by SPD that they stated they had the hospital report of where GZ went after his release by them, so I found it strange that the SA or the investigator did not have a copy of it.

MOO, IMO, JMO and all that jazz.

Now I off to watch what the TH's have to say.

His speech was sure clear in court compared to the 911 call. No slurring words. IMO

I think the reason for that is that he was talking on a cell phone and cell phones suck!

No, he isn't yet out. He did get the bond granted but defense and prosecution still have to agree on the conditions before he is out.
And of course he has to come up with the money for bond.

Three times around his truck and said he was in his late teens.

I really have to ask: in this new photo of the back of Zimmerman's head, am I the only person who had a very hard time seeing the source injury for the blood? I had to stare at it for a while to figure out where the bleeding was coming from, and when I saw it I became even more confused; the only wound I can see (at the top of the blood flow on the bottom right) looks like a very small cut or gouge (fingernail wound?), and certainly not the long jagged marks from the "enhanced" photos. That makes no sense to me in the context of the "head being smashed repeatedly against the concrete" story. In fact, the back of his head looks fine. The other wound, based on blood flow, should be right on top of his head, but that's cut off by that big white area. That leads me to my next point:

What is that big white area? I am very bothered by the abrupt line where the blood cuts off; there is no torn skin or wound or anything along that line (that I can see) that would indicate that there's a wound there. If he were wearing a baseball cap or if someone had wiped that area clean, the blood would be smeared, wouldn't it? Not to mention that the line is quite high on his head, and not consistent with where a baseball cap would sit - the bottom of the cap would have been around the tops of his ears, not the crown of his head.

That clean line bugs me. At first I thought that area was just overexposed, but it's not gradual the way it would be in any other photo - in fact, it looks to me like that part of his head was actually edited out. The sides of his head along that area are quite visible, but not that very select area. That bothers me a great deal, and makes me wonder why the only photos that we have which show any damage to his head appear to have been edited in some way.

Best proof yet that no matter what GZ does, he will be maligned and hated. It's a no-win for him so why bother even trying or listening to what the Martins want?

He killed a 17 year old kid.

No-win???? For GZ?

Their child is gone. Forever. Gone. :( This isn't a game.

IMO JMO MOO

Very good observation. I always thought he sounded quite impaired on those dispatch calls. MOO

It would have looked more sincere if it had come earlier, not when he's trying to look good egging to be out on bond.
It would have looked more sincere if he hadn't published a website showing that he was not sorry in the least.
It would have looked more like he gave a damn about what the victim's family felt if he had taken note of their saying that they don't want to meet and hear his apology at this time.

My point is: A court of law is not where one goes if one does not want to hear both sides of the story. Any family member who does not want to hear from the defendant should avoid the courtroom at all costs.

OT: JK's trial was a litany of excuses, as well as blaming Dr. Petit for not being man enough to save his family. I don't know how that the doctor sat through it. He's made of stronger stuff than I.

Sorry but this really is unbelieveable to me.

Just curious if we have this same mindset in every murder case when it comes to the victims families?

Too bad, if they don't want to hear it just stay away?

And again, it's all apples/oranges to GZ's apology, and it doesn't have anything to do with Trayvon's parents not wanting to hear both sides. they have every right to speak out about something like this, has nothing to do with not wanting to hear both sides.

To say that if the family didn't want to hear it they could have just left is absurd on every level. As if they knew that he would just blurt it out in time for them to have left before he said it.

It's just another way to put everything on the victim's family and divert it away from the one on trial.

He said it, he owns it.

JMHO

Too bad, they didn't bother to drug or alcohol test him that night. Drugs/alcohol and a gun made Zimmerman such a big man that night. Disgusting.

That apology was so full of it. A public relations stunt if I ever heard one.

GZ's body language during the entire hearing was a performance. A stiff, sallow-looking "Woe is me, I'm an angel trying to do a good deed" affect is transparent.

He's had months to apologize. Even a website where he could have. It's just not in GZ's heart. That's why he didn't try to "save" Trayvon. He isn't sorry and still feels he was justified to shoot TM. It's all TM's fault. He shouldn't have been black and wore a hood in the dark. That's a crime?!

It was interesting to watch GZ when he was sitting there left alone with people around him. He looked like a cornered animal. I also think he tends to have a look of suppressed anger behind his eyes.
