***IMO***

The "apology" at his own bond hearing was self-serving and in poor taste

***MOO***

May have been. But the point I was trying to make in the post you quoted was they were not FORCED to hear it.

People keep saying they were forced.
They weren't.

And that apology is small potatoes to the upsetting things they will hear in the upcoming hearings and trial they have vowed to attend.

That's my point.

Whether it was self serving or in poor taste, I have my own opinion of that.
I feel like they asked for a public apology. They criticized GZ for not apologizing.
Before today, we had only heard 2 words from GZ. "yes sir" at his first appearance.

So this is the first public occurrence and he apologized. The judge allowed it.

I don't think it was some sort of travesty.

Well I don't carry a gun or a flashlight - even nasty little ones- or anything else. I don't feel the need to. I refuse to live in a frame of mind where I think "Oh, I'm going to get mik, better get my gun." To me...people let fear get to them wayyyyyyyyyy too much.

I don't carry a gun either. Never had a desire to have a gun. I have in the past had a small flashlight on a key chain. They come in handy at night if you are out in a dimly lit area, need to read something, or looking for something in your purse. I don't quite understand why you call them nasty??:)

Many people have gun permits. Some form a habit of carrying their guns everywhere they go. It's not a matter of, "I'm going out to get a loaf of bread, better go get my gun".

We just don't really know what happened and we never will. No one can say for sure what was going on those last minutes. JMO

I just dont believe that GZ set out to kill someone, but when it comes down to it, if I think my life is in danger I'd rather go to jail than be dead. JMO

It appears, neither does the SP either..he isnt charged with premeditated murder??? But 2nd degree murder..

We shall have to be patient to find out just what circumstantial evidence pros. comes up with..as obviously direct evidence was pretty much overlooked by Sandford Police...Why no breathalizer, drug testing of shooter, but required of victim..???? Oh forgot..GZ claims the victim was suspicios, 🤬🤬🤬🤬 who looked on something..that explains it :banghead:

IDK, but I really do not care for this man. At one point during the hearing MO'M was talking so fast I had a heard time even understanding him.

MO'M loves the media, IMO!

I've seen Crump on tv only about 5 times as much as MOM. Everyone went in front of the cameras after the bond hearing, including AC.

Until it comes out. Then it too will be doubted.

JMO

We have heard people screaming about the lack of injury shown in the police video. Now we have a picture. But that's not good.

So now we need a face shot.

Mark my words, we will see one. And it will be doubted.

haha - I was thinking the same thing. The nose x-rays will have been doctored, any blood on his clothes will have been stage blood. yep, convicted already.

Exactly. There's a time and place for everything. GZ had his gun and flashlight because he had to "work" that evening.

IF Trayvon was my son, I would have either stood up and turned my back on GZ or walked out of that courtroom..JMHO

Trayvons parents did leave the courtroom per their lawyer Crump, he said that Tracy Martin was weeping and when GZ did his "apology" they left as fast as they could.

If it turns out TM has no injuries outside of the bullet wound and it gets proven that GZ did in fact have injuries (even as much as his father said), I wonder how a jury would take that.

I would think that Trayvon would have at least some injuries to his hands if he punched George --- also George's blood would have been on either Trayvon's hands or clothes. I would also like to know if any damage, besides the bullet hole, Trayvon had to his jacket? Had it been pulled? Stretched?

I don't know how accurate this is, but I do remember someone coming forward saying that Trayvon had a broken nose, so it will be interesting to see if that is true?

There are so many questions unanswered.

But, if Trayvon didn't have any injuries, I guess it could be looked at two ways --

Either Trayvon was not punching/hitting/attacking George as they say or Trayvon did punch George, but not with enough force to cause any injury to his hand, and George just laid there for 44 seconds as Trayvon slammed his head into the cement (not even getting scrapes on his own hands from the cement) and decided it was enough and reached for his gun ---

Or wait -- the gun was seen before the altercation started??

It's just messy!!

I am the daughter of a former US Navy SEAL and current federally licensed gun dealer, he has a ccp and uses it. I am not woefully ignorant of my likelihood of being victimized. I learned to shoot at four years old, grew up handling guns, and own firearms now.

My choice to make my weekly pilgrimage to Target sans my hollowpoint loaded sidearm, and to also risk suffering a blackout in the dairy aisle without my Surefire does not in any way make me a grass munching livestock animal. That you carry your big ole flashlight for "s&gs" seems very strange to me. A flashlight is a tool, not really a toy. If you hang it from your belt for the fun of it is it just to project a certain image? It sounds like posturing to me? Moo

There are people who want to carry a gun for, imo, all of the most very wrong reasons. The very people who represent a danger to others when they do so. George Zimmerman is an excellent example of that person. Moo
I was being facetious about the "S&Gs" part, I'm sorry if that wasn't obvious by my characterization of the flashlight as "nasty", "tacticool", and using "S&Gs". I thought it was fairly obvious. As I stated before, I'm also not sure where this "hanging off the belt" thing came from. Did they say Zimmerman's was on his belt? You'd never know I had my flashlight, or my gun, if I had it. I've been in situations where my friends were surprised I was carrying because I was forced to reveal for one reason or another (changing in a hotel room, for instance).

My usage of the sheep imagery was in response to being called overly paranoid. Tit for tat is fairly effective game theory.

But some people do take those items everywhere. My husband's stepfather has his gun EVERYWHERE he goes whether its allowed or not. JMO

I think so. Prior sworn testimony is usually allowable, right?

Why wouldn't it be fair, the truth doesn't change? His story at the SYG hearing should be the same at trial.

BBM

I dunno. it seems to me a catch 22. :fence:

Yup and I bet Trayvon felt the same way. Unfortunately, he wasn't successful in fending off his attacker and is now deceased. :(

How many people think here think that a gun might be a good tool to have if they're being chased down at night by a rogue watchman with a gun of his own? Just a hypothetical situation meant to encourage some critical thinking.

There are quite a lot of people involved in this case that seem to love the media. IMO

Thank you!! My feelings have drastically changed for him after this little show today. I do not even think Baez sunk to this level.

How many times does ones head need to be knocked into concrete before you respond with deadly force? The photos prove that Martin was committing a felonious assault against Zimmerman. Unless you believe that the witnesses, the police, the videotape, and this new photo is all fabricated. The felonious assault rises to a level where SYG is applicable.

MOO

no, no, no they do NOT. there prove something caused GZ to bleed, and what could it be? oh, an unarmed person attacked alone on a rainy night and fighting for his life? maybe?

eta: I am still not convinced that it wasnt recoil from the firearm that caused his bloody nose and this....if *this* in fact is anything but a scrape...anything on the scalp bleeds madly..

Tit for tat is an effective strategy for game play, but not for winning hearts and minds. I was reading your posts thoughtfully, and with interest until you made that sheep comment. It felt pretty personal.
