17 yo Trayvon Martin Shot to Death by Neighborhood Watch Captain #35

I just listened and I think the redacted parts are clarifying the address. At one point in between redacted portions, the dispatcher asks if it is one word or two. If she was entering "Retreatview" or TwinTrees" (not sure which is John's street, CP has it as Twin Trees) it may not come up on her system.

ALL the 911 calls have parts redacted to remove identifying things like addresses and directions. I'm surprised at how many have first names included, to be honest.

These are the recordings I downloaded from the Sanford site which were removed at AC's request. I'm not sure where they can be found right now.

Visual confirmation is also that being the correct building as well once you realize that those buildings have alternating exterior paint schemes, light body with dark trim vs darker body with light trim. Notice the color scheme is correct for that building when the reporter points to the second floor window in this video:

I'm not sure what the big deal with the redacting of the name and address of someone who was doing an interview the next day while standing inside his front door.

I do care about the 911 caller, John. I am interested in his 911 call. In fact, I didn't realize until today that that was his call. I will be interested to read what he told the police that night. I don't think the body was located where concerned poppa thinks it was located. That's just me, that's my opinion, I have expressed it before, and if I change my opinion I let everyone know.

The maps are great, all the videos are great, but until I see an official map of where the body was located, I remain unconvinced. And, it is important because of the ear and eye witnesses (the 911 callers) and their relation to the location.

nora, understand that I know nothing about where that body was located other than what I've shown. I've just got a problem placing very much weight on his statements with all I listed from official sources saying otherwise.

Those are the transcripts but not the actual recordings. On a few, I've noticed variances between the actual recordings and what are on the transcripts, maybe not these particular ones, but in some of the 'quotes' in the news stories.

Do any of the news organizations currently have the original recordings as released on the City of Sanford website? I downloaded them, but don't want to post them online since I don't hold the copyright.

I knew he was one of the end units but it's been a couple of weeks since I looked it up and wasn't sure which street he faced. I should have remembered that you had also looked it up and would have been sure! :seeya:

I think it may be just routine to redact identifying info when 911 calls are released. I don't know why someone here is suspicious of it, though.

Those are the transcripts but not the actual recordings. On a few, I've noticed variances between the actual recordings and what are on the transcripts, maybe not these particular ones, but in some of the 'quotes' in the news stories.

Do any of the news organizations currently have the original recordings as released on the City of Sanford website? I downloaded them, but don't want to post them online since I don't hold the copyright.

Sorry, I could kick myself for only downloading the letter from the SPD site before it was taken down. But I remember someone else posting a link to a site that has the 911 calls a couple of threads ago, so they are out there.

because of George Zimmerman's membership in a particular group or class? I hardly think someone being arrested for shooting and killing an unarmed person is a violation of ANY right or some unbelievable event that would need to invoke this type of public solicitation for pro-George support and money.

Have you read any of the numerous blogs, articles, facebook pages that support and even congratulate George, never mind the white nationalist and "pro-white" groups that are using this for their own purposes? Is that normal in a murder case-to have people congratulating the murderer and calling him a hero?

Is someone trying to incite more racial division by making this so public a display? I find it in incredibly bad taste and designed to provoke the very verbal racist elements that have been making George their hero. I don't think we need more of this and definitely not from an attorney and I think it's a very dangerous path to go down. Making this more of a public spectacle will not help anyone involved in this case. I was hoping everyone would back off and let the justice system do it's thing now that it's in the courts and let some of the passions die down. But now they do this, its like they are purposefully inciting and inflaming passions on both sides. Maybe the money is worth it as I guess if it doesn't stay controversial, making the supporters compelled to donate, I guess their coffers could dry up. I just find this "novel" idea a very very bad one.

Can you envision going forward, victim's families having to deal with pro-accused web sites and Facebook pages publicly supporting and raising money for a person accused of some heinous act? I just find this the very worst idea.

I would characterize it as support for George's civil rights, but that's just me. Plus, I haven't looked, but I doubt very much that the FB page will only receive support. In fact, unless they have a full time staff of moderators, i would think that the comments would be largely anti-George based on the general skew here and elsewhere. jmo

He opened up his patio door to see what was going on and then closed it and locked.

Neighbors including FT stated that GZ patrolled the community at night.
FT going as far to say that GZ took his dog and gun along on "patrol"
I have no doubt GZ was on patrol that night. I wonder how the defense will handle these statements made by GZ's neighbors?

I have been suspicious of him since he insisted the judge recuse herself and he went judge shopping. He is from the area, well known to the judges and vica versa. He must have known who he would end up with, mo. I am concerned that he is quite sure this judge will be favorable to him. jmo

He didn't "insist the judge recuse herself." Judge revealed she had a conflict of interest. He then filed a motion based on the information the judge revealed.
Any lawyer would have done the same thing.

Actually, him saying stop might be making more sense now. It didn't make sense when it was being said that he was right there up close and could see GZ on the bottom calling out for help. It makes more sense if he was at his house, could tell there was a scuffle going on, it would be him yelling out to stop in the general direction of the scuffle, not aimed at a particular person, because he couldn't really make out for certain who was who in the scuffle.

It is being claimed by those who know GZ that ""he only wanted to keep his neighborhood safe". I find it ironic that he is the ONE person who took the safety from the neighborhood. A crime was not being commited but ultimately he was part of causing a crime to occur. A death by gunshot in my opinion is such a sad crime. How many guns in the fight? 1. How many people dead 1. I pray that version of safe never comes to my neighborhood or anyone elses.
I am willing to wait to see evidence but in my heart I know One person is responsible. I hope that person has learned a big lesson in his life. It has taken a turn around, now GZ is the suspicious one.
Wonder how that makes him feel everyday of his life !!!!
When they say guns don't kill people, people kill people this situation proves that to be soooooooo TRUE.

Nor to me either. In fact, it makes me quite nauseous to look at him. I don't see someone who is "sorry for the loss of your son," but instead I see someone who has no heart whatsoever. No doubt, he felt a rush of adrenaline while he was hunting his prey and a bigger rush of adrenaline when he knew the "@$$hole" wasn't going to get away. To me, he's no different than Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, Danny Rollings, Scott Peterson, Casey Anthony, and the list goes on and on and on. They care about no one but themselves.

I've mentioned it before, but it's worth mentioning again. I, too, was surprised by the anger behind GZ's eyes, and at times the paranoia and hypervigilance, where he looked like a frantic and caged animal. He comes across as very cold.
