By the way,

Did some of you people see on HLN's Showbiz Tonight -- Nancy Grace was on on April 27, 2012, because there will be a movie based on her and her story. So that guy asked her what she thought about this GZ 204+ K business vs. his 15K bond.
Was surprised to hear what she said.
She said basically, that even though it might appear and sound hinky, it's not such a "big deal".
That when Bond is given it's based on various factors, and often not on individual status etc.
Based on the risk, if the person going to flee etc.
That otherwise it would be unfair to others, unfair to all etc..
That it can' t be two tier system -- some people get this, some people get that etc...

In any case, was surprised to hear it from her, from Nancy Grace

HERE is that shows transcript:

HAMMER: Hello. I`m A.J. Hammer in New York. Thank you for watching tonight. We are bringing you big breaking news with Nancy Grace. Hi, friend.

NANCY GRACE: Hello, friend, how are you?

HAMMER: I am fantastic. It`s great to see you. There is the news that we got today that the lovely Jenny Garth of "Beverly Hills 90210" fame is going to be starring in a TV movie based on your best selling book, Nancy. I cannot wait to hear the untold story about that.

But first we have to begin tonight with this bombshell news today in the Trayvon Martin case. Now we all remember last week George Zimmerman asked for and got a low bail of about $150,000 after being charged with killing the Florida teenager. That was after basically telling the court he didn`t have a lot of money.

Well, there was shock and awe today after his attorney revealed that Zimmerman is sitting on top of $200,000. Thanks to donations that he got from a website had he set up. Zimmerman`s attorney just appeared on CNN`s "AC 360" and told Anderson Cooper he was just as shocked as we are. Watch.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

MARK O`MARA, ATTORNEY FOR GEORGE ZIMMERMAN: In talking to George after I was trying to shut down his full internet presence because of some impersonators and other problems with Twitter and Facebook, he asked me what to do with his Paypal accounts. And I asked him what he was talking about. He said those are the accounts that had the money from the Website that he had and that there was $204,000 that had come in to date.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

HAMMER: Two hundred grand. Holy smokes. Nancy, were you as shocked as everyone else when you heard that?

GRACE: Yes. I was very, very surprised. Now listen. You got to take whatever any lawyer says with a box of salt. Not a grain, but a box. So, you know, let`s just keep that in mind. This guy, O`Mara, is going to say whatever it takes to defend his client. All right. So don`t hold him to a truth test when he`s on TV. He`s not in a courtroom.

As far as the bond, let me reiterate. Lady justice is blind regardless to the sex, the ethnicity, the background, the race, the whatever, the age, and the financial status of every defendant. So he`s not going to get a lower or higher bond on this case - or he shouldn`t because he is broke or because he`s rich. The bond is set on other factors such as the severity of the crime, whether you`re going to flee the jurisdiction, are you going to tamper with witnesses, are you a danger to yourself or the community. Issues like that come into play when setting bond. Not do you have money in your Paypal account.

So frankly, that`s really not an issue. If he had declared indigency, and was using taxpayer`s money, now that would be a big problem because you have to fill out a form whereby you swear as to how much money you have.

HAMMER: Got it. All right. So you don`t feel that he necessarily pulled a fast one on the court -

GRACE: I didn`t say that!

HAMMER: All right.

GRACE: But I said the financial status should not be an indicator as to bond.

HAMMER: OK.

GRACE: Because that would set up a two-tier justice system - you know, we give different people charged with the same crime a different bond amount. That`s not right.

HAMMER: No. That`s not right at all. And listen, it`s no surprise, Trayvon`s parents not happy at all. This morning their attorney just flat- out accused Zimmerman of lying to score a low bail which you said can`t be done but they want it revoked. Let`s watch what happened.

You lost me there.

TM wasn't looking for a fight. He wasn't following anyone, didn't call LE and did not have a weapon on him. None, not a gun, not a knife, not a flashlight and not even a screwdriver. Just ice tea, skittles and his phone. Not something you bring to a fight, IMO. jmo

What does that have to do with discussing who was there in white shirt? I was responding to a poster who suggested it was "John" out there in white shirt. And that is after all discussion how John was never actually outside.

I wish I could understand all this concern about "John" and what he said or didn't say.

-It's as if we don't even have a police report that says the body was lying in the grass between 1231 Twin Trees Lane and 2821 Retreat View Circle.

-It's as if the SFD EMT dispatch recording saying repeatedly that the body is lying in the grass in the backyard of 2831 Retreat View Circle doesn't mean anything.

-It's as if ZIMMERMAN'S OWN ATTORNEY didn't volunteer the information that TM's body was 70 yards away from his own back door:

If you're going to believe some vague dude named John's version of events and body location instead of a police report, dispatch recording, and a hearing transcript/video why are you wanting a doc dump? IMO, if "John" saw red, black, green, or purple he needed night vision goggles and a telescope to see as far away from his place as the above says the body was.
If this reporter is correct, the body was found right in front of the guy's patio and window. There were enough police, crime scene, and other emergency services there that night that it wouldn't seem like rocket science to figure this out - all the reporter would need to do is ask one of them. And I'm still not certain that someone didn't help GZ corner Trayvon. I'm not saying they thought GZ was going to kill him, just that they thought he was going to try to detain him via intimidation until LE arrived on scene.

I want to see all the cellphone records for "John," who ever the photogher was, FT, JO, and anyone that GZ may have spoken to in the two hours before his call to the non-emergency LE dispatcher. If anyone helped to corner Trayvon then they would have a real good motive for helping GZ. I'd like to see his wife's phone log, too.

If Nancy is correct, and it's not that big of a deal, then why would GZ/family or defence withhold that info? And why did MOM feel the need to correct that impression with the judge?

New website by #Zimmerman lawyer O'Mara confirms they will not receive discovery evidence for now to avoid "media frenzy" around witnesses.

Nor to me either. In fact, it makes me quite nauseous to look at him. I don't see someone who is "sorry for the loss of your son," but instead I see someone who has no heart whatsoever. No doubt, he felt a rush of adrenaline while he was hunting his prey and a bigger rush of adrenaline when he knew the "@$$hole" wasn't going to get away. To me, he's no different than Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, Danny Rollings, Scott Peterson, Casey Anthony, and the list goes on and on and on. They care about no one but themselves.

~jmo~

What really bothers me most about the apology (paraphrasing) is the wording "sorry for the loss of your son."

As if he had nothing to do with that loss whatsoever, and Trayvon--for lack of a better metaphor--accidentally got run over in the street.

I realize there are legalities regarding other ways he could have worded it, but if those were the concern, he should have just kept his piehole shut.

JMO IMO yada yada.

Hmmm, they really want to hold off on a doc dump I'm guessing. Perhaps to finesse public opinion first (and rake in the bucks)? Hence, FB went up so immediately.

I've wondered also if there wasn't someone else involved.

All I can say is Trayvon's family are more dignified than I could ever be. I know that it had to be just awful to hear him up there attempting to justify his actions and I'm sure it was like a slap to each of their faces to hear him lie and basically admit that he didn't know if Trayvon was armed or not and then to tell them that he thought Trayvon was just a little younger than him when he knew full well (and admitted it previously) that Trayvon was nothing more than a kid.

Yep, my thoughts exactly ! the circus has begun, O'Mara taking his time while the "funds" come flooding in .
I feel nothing but disgust for GZ and O'Mara and how he's handled this case so far.
I was so hoping he was above sleazy tactics, I should've known better JMO :maddening:

Yep, wouldn't want the truth of the matter out there for the sheeple to read.

If he really thought he was getting away and headed to the back gate why didn't he just drive down to the end of the street where he would have come out? If he had someone in the car with him they could have drove the car back to the spot it was found. Why wasn't his wife on this shopping trip with him? Maybe all that nasty talk wasn't directed at the dispatcher. All IMO Speculation

Hmm. Didn't think of that. It did seem like someone was there right away, after the shot, from at least one of the 911 callers and I couldnt figure that out. Thanks for presenting another angle.

He didn't "insist the judge recuse herself." Judge revealed she had a conflict of interest. He then filed a motion based on the information the judge revealed.
Any lawyer would have done the same thing.

Not to mention O'Mara would not hand pick (as has been suggested), his own Judge. IIRC, from information I've read, the Judges are on some sort of rotation.

Toward the back gate would have been headed toward BG's home.

Police arrived within 4 seconds of the shot - I would assume the flashlights were police.

One thing I can't figure out is, where was GZ's phone? He told someone to call police for him, why didn't he call? Maybe he lost it when GZ punched him?

It appears his phone was being used by him in the picture taken of his head at the scene.
