Please help police solve this nearly 40-year old cold case.
Tracy Lynn Guy, a 19-year old University of Tennessee student, died from a gunshot wound to the face November 8, 1980 in the parking lot of Townview Terrace Apts. at Vine and Hill Ave. in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was lying down in his red Volvo with the seat reclined. According to the medical examiner, the time of death was approximately midnight. The passenger seat was also reclined, and the victim's wallet and it's contents were strewn about the inside of the car. The victim's pants were down. Blood was found on the rear passenger window. Police believe the motive was robbery. The victim was found in the same location where his friends last saw him earlier that night.
No one has ever been charged for Tracy's murder.
Tracy lived eight miles away on Tillery Drive. The university is about two miles from the murder scene.
