This recent article states the boat they were on was a catamaran. I thought catamarran's were twin hulled? Exclusive interview: Wife of missing boater off Fort Myers Beach holds hope for Christmas miracle

With just about every photo of this boat you'd be forgiven for thinking it's a single hull design.
The twin hulls are very narrow and can only be deciphered from the front -

after reading more about these boats and watching a few utube videos, they're highly noted for their stability. I'm more inclined to think it was a health related event with one of them but God only knows. Hopefully he can help bring them home...

I have personally almost fallen out of one about three times. The back is really low and even a small bump can send you airborne. See that cooler height and that corner? It’s very low.
The whole thing smells to me. I hope they’re out there ok somewhere.

The boat, known for its stability, cannot guarantee that the occupant is. Any boat that floats will experience some wave action. All the more reason it's recommended to wear a life vest. Accidents can happen unexpectedly. These two men did not just step into a boat. They were very experienced boaters and fisherman. Agreed, the incident however it happened, is odd.
