2008.07.24 George Anthony Interview

I too was struck by the fact that George did not even know that Caylee was missing but immediately thought her body might be in the trunk of the car at the tow yard. Not the bodies of Casey AND Caylee, mind you, only the body of Caylee.

Something is still not adding up here to me. Plus George's known behaviors and statements SINCE this interview have been quite bizarre in light of what he says during the interview.

With both Casey and Caylee missing, I could see him smelling the death smell and fearing both of them were in the trunk - but what would the reasoning be for him to think it was ONLY Caylee's body in the trunk?

They had seen and talked to KC but in that 31 days they never got to speak to Caylee, so it tells me that there had to be suspicions on her whereabouts. Much like they BOTH discussed the possibility of the pool.
I am sure I would have thought the same thing. Plus we do not know what her mind set was when they spoke to her, they try to paint a pretty picture of everything being Rosie but it’s clear it was far from it.

Between errands and household chores, it took me most of yesterday to read the interview with George. I finished reading it in the wee hours of this morning.

It was the saddest interview I've seen. George is an emotional wreck! I can easily see now how Cindy is the engine moving the "Caylee is alive, she's been kidnapped" car. George is just a passenger, along with Lee.

I feel bad for George as he has no one to lean on, no one to confide in. He's all alone, and lives in fear of Cindy and Cindy's reactions. He was even fearful that Lee might learn that he had been at the sheriff's station for an interview.

There were quite a few revelations in that interview. First and foremost, George knew from the moment he smelled that car that Caylee was gone. The separation between George and Cindy in 2005 was because of problems with Casey. And, George doesn't like JB.

I can't imagine how difficult it is today for George. No doubt Cindy has read, or is reading, the material released yesterday. She's read George's interview and knows that he confided his concerns to LE. She knows that LE isn't happy with her actions, and that George agreed with them.

And the searchers are gathering for the big search tomorrow and George and Cindy have to face the prospect that Caylee's remains will be found.

IIRC GA does refer to the possibility of either, or both, I believe. In any case, I too think GA was simply conscious of a) not having seen the girls in some time; b) the fact the car was towed, and was only discovered after having been abandoned for some time by KC; and c) knowing there were only a limited number of explanations for what he smells-of which the most obvious prospective victims are the owner (driver) and/or occupants of the car. Just speculating. JMO

After I read the interview I really have a concern or question or something. George talks about his findings on the car, the odor- but he doesn't say what he did then. Like did he search the car or just drop it and go on as usual or what? Also, did I see it correctly that GA did admit that he and CA were withholding some info, possibly some tips? And GA did say that Cindy knew allegedly she said we lost her, so Cindy's washing clothes from the car takes on a new meaning.

Also, I wondered about the timing of GA becoming ill. He didn't become ill during the talk of the odor, during the talk of the possibility of the loss of Caylee, or anything else. But the timing of when he became ill was while they were waiting on Lee and the call came in about checking a possible sighting. It could have been because there was a break in the tension of talking with detectives I guess but I don't know, the timing just got me.

Cindy washed the pants before she talked to Casey and learned that Caylee was missing.

I'm probably being stupid, but I can't find the links to yesterday's doc dump. i can get to articles talking about them, and I did find George's interview...the link was in an article pertaining to that subject.

Can someone help me out! It's probably staring me in the face...I just need to be directed a bit...like.."up to the right, first link on this page."

You think Cindy is crazy now, imagine what she'd be like without George around to try to even things out. He's the only reason she isn't in a nut house.

SNIPPED: "...Did anyone catch in the child neglect investigation on page 2224 "The parent, caregiver, or household member has a criminal history (regardless of disposition) or engages in dangerous criminal activities that may impact child safety and/or presents a potential threat of harm to the child (eg. drug manufacture or distribution, trafficking and/or sell of illegal drugs or weapons, prostitution) " This box is marked yes !?!
(Bolded and underlined is mine)

It says "has a criminal history OR..." and may simply refer to the multitude of coinciding check fraud/forgery charges. Just guessing. JMO

At that point Casey had not, and still has not been convicted of the financial charges, so it is doubtful that they would be taken into account at that timem.

WADR, Princess Rose, the only thing that mattered was the criminal history, which, at the time it was filled out, includes Casey's previous arrest of July 16. The form above, as quoted and as bolded/underlined by me, clearly states "regardless of disposition," which means regardless of what happened to the arrest charges (eg, dismissed, conviction, pled nolo contendre, etc.) "Criminal history" is much broader than "criminal conviction," and includes any and all arrests, which is why it is checked.
Hope that helps."

Audio of the interview released today according to DAILY UPDATES thread..link is FOX Orlando, but no audio interview found there. Has anyone found it yet?
Thanks!

I found his choice of words interesting when describing his experiences when he was in law enforcement about finding dead bodies and "it's a smell you never get RID of"....Like from the trunk when you tried to RID it of the dead human smell? Most people would say "that you never forget", not "that you never get rid of". Freudian slip i'd say...

It's there now. It wasn't earlier, even though they talked about it.

I hate how everyone apparently chided George and told him to "stop playing detective" whenever he tried to regulate Casey. Poor guy.

It's always good to read the transcript and hear the interview imo. It was sad to read it, so I imagine it will be worse to hear it. I'm listening now.

I am crying right now--as I read your post. George looking into the woods, hoping it isn't Caylee. I have to say, I feel that George is very heartbroken.
