If the laptop was left at AL's apartment and LA retrieved it, I don't understand when she had time to go on her delete spree there. When Amy and CA arrived, she was on the sofa with it. LA goes to get it and it is now on the counter plugged in. No one mentioned her taking the time to do this while her mom was breathing down her neck and screaming at her to get her stuff to leave. Was she tipped off that they were coming to get her? Did Amy call her? Did LA call her? She seemed surprised when they showed up according to what others have said.

In AL and AH's statements indicate that Casey was on the couch using her laptop at AL's apt when Cindy arrives to take her home. Presumably, Casey left her laptop where she was sitting. Then Lee arrives later that night to retrieve her things--
Lee Interview (pdf pg#54-5 and bulk doc pg#1478-9)
Casey's laptop is now sitting plugged-in at the kitchen counter, appears blue-screened and seems to have been data swiped. Did Casey attempt to scrub her hard drive the instant Cindy and AH arrived? Did Lee do something to the computer during the hour+ time he took to retrieve Casey's things? Did AL do something to the computer-- did Casey set him up to run the program for her? What do people think?

The computer issue really stood out for me. There's basically no way to truly clean a hard drive-- and even if the person was really super computer savvy and succeeded in removing a lot of data, experts will be able to tell when the terminal dump was initiated. Given the hours that passed between Casey leaving AL's apt and Lee returning for the computer, I think LE has to know who tried to clean it.

Perhaps related, perhaps not--
Does anyone feel like Lee could possibly be working with LE? I know people have very mixed feelings about Lee, but his official statements and initial audio with Casey indicate he sees through her lies and has little patience for them. He seems to have few qualms about supplying damning evidence against her. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but I wonder if he's working on the inside? Does anyone think so?

I have yet to read the documents because I, unfortunately, have to study for tests and such. Did I read this correctly when you said that she had a blue screen of death? LA said that she wiped things from her computer? The blue screen could be caused by lots of things. I am curious when she started wiping things off the laptop though. A computer forensic analyst can figure out when the modifications were. It worries me because there are certain measures that you can take to cause your computer to go all wacky and wipe things off the hard drive. It worries me because I don't think she would know how to do it; she might google it though. However, she had been using her pc everyday up until her mom spontaneously shows up. That really isn't enough time to look up how to get rid of things, and implement it. My stomach hurts because I think that someone else might have covered for her. The school that TL goes to, Full Sail, has different degrees in computers and electronics. Does anyone know his major or the major of any of his friends that were in the house that day? Granted, you do not have to be a computer expert to crash your computer or erase things, but I am curious how bad it was. Oh geez..... this is troublesome.... Thank God for the computer forensic dept with LE. They can still find things.

why did Casey leave her phone at TonE's, the computer I can understand but the phone?

It all smells more hinky with the computer having a blue screen and Lee saying Casey's stuff was suspected as being gone through and placed back in such a organized manor.

As far as her stuff being placed back in such an organized manner, the detective pointed out that most likely it was gone through to retrieve Amy's missing checkbook.

I would have to agree it was about Amy's checkbook since it was said to be on the dresser. AL probably went through it after he talked to Amy to look for any of his own records or information.

SS, we do think alike!

I was just reading this interview elswhere earlier today and I found it very disturbing the amount of times he laughs during it. If it had been my niece I think I would be sobbing not laughing

I would love to know what the item was that was "snatched" from the wallet in back of the ID. It must have been something familiar to them such as maybe a police officer's ID or business card?

My first idea was that it was ZG of Sawgrass' ID. She supposedly lost one in February (I believe) according to her interview with local6.com. Then again, it could have been anything. I'm sure that she had credit cards of friends and family. Who knows? ::sigh:: this is so stressful.

Everyone who is jumping on Lee for laughing, you also have to jump on the detective. He was JOKING about the FBI and then getting fired and also laughing. So either (A) The detective and Lee all think murder is a funny, funny joke and both are azzes or (B) Lee was visibly nervous and the detective was attempting to calm him down. The laughter is not an indication of callousness.

Just something to note that's getting lost in the shuffle. It would be one thing if the detective were dead serious and Lee was laughing, but that's just not the case...

What trouble me most about LA interview. The car. The smell. WAVES of it the minute you walked in the garage. LA was put out there with KC at one point and he couldn't handle it - had to keep stepping out "for fresh air". Well, LE was there - all night - coming and going - questioning - etc. etc. Didn't ANY of LE go out in THAT garage and smell THAT SMELL? Why was there such a delay in impounding that car? when LE is called to a "crime scene" or to a "report" - they are usually all over - swarming like bugs. Even Detectives were out there that night, later on. Yet, NO ONE went in that garage - NO ONE said "hey come here - do you smell that?" "Where is that smell coming from?" Just ain't fittin' with me somewhere.

<<Inappropriate laughter seems to be a family trait. Interesting.>>

As does the family's use of the word "absolutely".

Yes, I absolutely totally don't get that either :waitasec:

I am trying to get through this interview. I just almost can't stomach it.

They probably did, but it takes time for them to get search warrants etc. They had to investigate the initial nature of the call and then determine the child was actually missing before getting those warrants. Probable cause has to enter into it as far as I know.

They had to determine that what Casey told them were actually lies before they could delve into it, too.

KC stole money from Lee and a friend of Lee? Wonder if the friend will press charges?

I doubt it. It sounds like that could have happened long before or not at all. I am not going to buy into what LA is saying in this interview about what she said, he did, they did, etc. I don't see Casey saying all those things after hearing her on the jail tapes.

On day one of this case, I told my husband that Casey did away with Caylee just to spite her own mother. Now, reading Lee's transcript, I think I may have been right. On Line 15 Lee talks about Casey saying "maybe I'm a spiteful b*tch". I think I hit it right on the head.

What was the card that one of the police officer's swiped from Casey's wallet? Maybe something incriminating to an officer? Or someone else's ID?
