2008.08.05 Greta Interview with Anthonys

George and Cindy smiled and acted like they were talking about an eight year old sneaking cookies to her room when they finally got to the end of their story about his finally finding the gas cans in the trunk. Really strange.

Yes, and if you notice, when George is telling the story about how he opened the trunk and gets to the punchline, Cindy says "gas cans" at the same time that George says "gas cans".

Almost like she wanted to make sure he didn't say the wrong thing.

Like, maybe, "Caylee"?

I have a hard time believing that Casey showed up at a house where she doesn't live at anymore, borrowed a shovel and started removing bamboo from the yard. Especially considering she was hiding the fact that her daughter was "missing" from the people who live there.

Do you remember a date that she borrowed the shovel? I thought that was earlier on. Also that is what was used to break into the shed but she used the borrowed shovel to dig up bamboo ? George already gave a date of between the 23rd. and 24th that the shed was broken into and the 24th is when he saw Casey and found the gas cans?

I can't possibly have this right!!! I can see Cindy over stating on the call to 911 that her daughter was missing for a month because it is 3 weeks and she somewhat hysterical. Plus she later said that she may have exaggerated a little to get the police to come. Not her exact words but something like that.

There's other tid bits I can allow for but damn am I crazy? This whole case is way out of hand. You can bet LE is searching the area of Caylee's real father if they did a dna match and are sure that's who he is. Can't they test his other children to match Cayle's dna to?

THIS is my thought after watching the Greta interview,... they keep looking down and when they do make eye contact with Greta it is quick and then they look down. When Cindy is talking, George was messing with the dog and looking around but when George was talking Cindy had her eyes on him like the were lasers.
Another thing that made me feel not right was NOT ONCE has this family broke down in front of the media. I know they probably have in their home but they are in the media the ALL THE TIME,... WITH NO EMOTION! Christina had more emotion in that jail house phone call then EVERYONE that is CLOSE to Caylee!!!!!! It makes me wonder WHY??? The only emotion I see is ANGER! Even if they believe Casey,.. they would still be crying because they haven't seen Caylee in 50 DAYS! Even if they believe Casey they have NO IDEA what Caylee is going through RIGHT NOW! That fact alone would make me cry. I think the community and world as a whole has cried more tears for this little girl. JMO

I noticed that too, they seemed really nervous, but not nervous b/c they would be on tv, nervous like they were going to mess up. It reminded me of when you were a teenager trying to lie to your parents or cover something up... you really try to make it believable. And the fact that they never show any emotion at all when I sit on my couch and every time that video of Caylee reading the book comes up I tear up. These people are COLD and MANIPULATIVE...but the truth will come out... They can't change the evidence and I think LE has a whole lot more than we know.

:bang: Everyday we see Mrs. Anthony fondly known as CINDY,
yelling at newspeople and saying Casey is too terrified to tell?
Well i would be also if i lost my kid!

George was looking down during Sunday's interview also after he met with Casey as well as Cindy on Tuesday when she met outside her house with reporters before going in the house through the garage.

What a mess!

Just noticed something,... the ONLY TIME Cindy looks Greta square in the eyes during the first part of the video is when she is talking about Casey's charges and if they had more on Casey they would charge her with it. THAT IS THE ONLY TIME! Just an observation.

I too believe that George seemed to want to look in the trunk and the wedge was just an excuse. But if that is the case what would make him want to look in the trunk at this point? Why would he even suspect that something might be there?
I would like to see what a body language expert has to say about these too during their interviews. They act so strangely. Its bizarre...

God bless you little Caylee, wherever you are!!

I saw video clips of the GVS interview this morning. It's obvious these grandparents adored Caylee. I can see the love and care for Caylee reflected all over the home, and it is truly heartbreaking.

This is my humble opinion. I feel very sorry for the Anthonys. It seems to me these grandparents did everything they could to provide for and care for Caylee since Casey hadn't acquired the resources to do so herslef. It seems though they are weary from this terrible state of sorrow and pain. Their voices are monotone...it's like they are numb with it. And they are obviously in a complete state of denial over Casey.

Their mannerisms belie their words....the downcast eyes, looking away; they don't really believe what they are saying in regard to CAsey. As if deep down, they know it doesn't make sense, but they carry on with this nonesensical, mixed up, convoluted story of their daughter's because they so desperately want, even need, to believe that Caylee is still ok; that Casey couldn't, wouldn't ever, do something so vile and evil.

Denial is a form of self-preservation. A defense mode to keep from cracking altogether during the process of coming to terms with something monumental. I don't know what it's like to be in the Anthony's shoes, but I think this is part of what they are experiencing. They are not responsible for what Casey has chosen to do as an adult, yet inside they may feel a terrible sense of guilt. Casey probably always had personality/behavior issues and was spoiled and enabled most of her life. I personally would like to shake Casey down and beat the truth out of her, but these parents and even her brother Lee (who from what I have seen appears to be a pretty decent and together young man) are apparently very used to handling Casey a certain way. They know her all too well...maybe they've learned that handling her with kids gloves and taking these particularly steps is the only thing that will get the truth out of her.

I feel sorry for Caylee. Period.

These adults should be held accountable for every lie.

What have they done with this child?

I'm fed up with their woe is me garbage.

Aren't you?

Is it me or did Cindy grab George's arm as he was telling the gas can story as a way to remind him to watch what he says.

I saw that! I do my husband like that when I want him to watch what he saying. I think Cindy is lying about everything. She doesn't look at the camera or Greta, she keeps her eyes down.

Cindy's admits to knowing something to Greta on national tv. Why can't they arrest her as an accessory?

Why is the gas can story not reasonable? I am missing something. George reported the gas cans stolen in the morning of the 24th and told the officer that they were probably taken after the 22nd, IIRC.
Then he sees Casey in the afternoon and she displays some suspicious behavior by trying to keep George out of the car..and then he discovers his stolen gas cans.
Since I doubt there was an APB out on the gas cans and I doubt that LE was actually even looking for his gas cans, I don't find it odd that he didn't report back to the police. Especially since he would have to tell them that his own daughter took them.

So besides the fact that we want to know exactly why Casey took the gas cans, why does George's story sound so suspicious?

Because NORMAL people would call the police to amend the report. We woke up one morning to find my van's window shattered. We filed a police report. Later on it dawned on my husband that he didn't move my car when he was weed whacking and a pebble must've hit the window. He just didn't notice it. He called and amended the report. Why? 1) LE does take neighborhood crime seriously. 2) LE tracks vandalism/crime in neighborhoods to see if stepped up patrols are needed. 3) Neighborhood watches are also notified. 4) Crime in your neighborhood is documented and affects your property values. 5) Homeowners insurance goes up as well with crime in the neighborhood. (And Florida already has serious insurance problems! LOL) And yes, even a small matter of stolen gas cans can add to all this. Because it is theft pure and simple.

We don't know if she has told LE, or not... maybe she has told them what she thinks she knows. As of right now, LE isn't saying much on if they are cooperating with them now, or not.

Or for obstruction. I just can't figure out how they can justify believing Casey. Casey keeps saying that Caylee is with ZannyIdon'texist but she's terrified if she says anything else harm would come to Caylee? Come on! Casey ALLEGEDLY left her there in the first place. Why would she leave her daughter with someone that she's afraid of? Makes no sense at all. And if she is terrified than of who? Why no names? This whole thing reeks.

I am normal and I doubt I would waste anymore of LE's time by amending a report about a stolen gas can. I would let it go. Especially if I had to amend it by saying that my daughter stole them lol.

Here are a few reasons:

Casey's parents have indicated previously that they hadn't seen her from June 15 to July 15 (or 17 or whatever it is.)

George had said before that a neighbor had taken his gas cans and then returned them.

George keeps changing his account of what items he knows to have been in the trunk -- pizza, garbage bag, baking soda, cleaning stuff, now gas cans.

And the wedge. Tell me why Casey would have the wedge in her car.

Sheesh.

Sheesh.

Maybe George had used the wedge to rotate the tires on that car at some point in the past, thus he put it in that trunk? The car was not technically Casey's car... it was her parents, thus they were contacted by the tow company to pick it up. (ETA: of which the wedge showing up in either car, would not be unusual, given the Anthony's own both cars)

Okay-loving this quote:
CINDY ANTHONY: I haven't had a chance to sit down and talk to Casey about, you know, a lot of different things, and I'm sure we'll have a big conversation when I have the opportunity to do so. You know, lying is not a criminal offense. You know, lying doesn't mean that you're a murderer.

Yes, lying is a criminal offense! When you lie to LE it is criminal! Hasn't your lawyer told you that?

Does anyone know when the entire 2 hour interview with
Mr&Mrs A will be up on Gretawire?
