2008.08.05 Greta Interview with Anthonys

Sorry if this has been posted. New info that the guest card filled out by Zenaida Gonzales was done in June, not April. From Orlando Channel 6:

Baby Sitter Remains Mystery

Deputies are still trying to figure out exactly when Caylee vanished and are not ruling out that her mother, Casey, may have posed as the mystery baby sitter no one can find.

Casey Anthony maintains the last time she saw her daughter was the day she dropped her off with a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez at the Sawgrass Apartments in Orlando.

According to the original arrest report from July 15, someone by the name of Zenaida Gonzalez looked at an apartment on April 17, 2008.

Local 6 has confirmed with apartment managers that the incident didn't happen in April but on June 17.

The date is important because Caylee was last seen two days before on June 15, Local 6's Lauren Rowe said.

Sawgrass managers said on June 17, someone came to inquire about an apartment.

Investigators said the person filled-out a guest card using the name Zenaida Gonzalez and the person who wrote it had sloppy handwriting.

Someone misread the date when filing out an original arrest record, Local 6 reported.

Sources told Local 6 that when apartment managers tried to follow up with the woman after June 25, the phone number she gave was no longer valid.

And the apartment where Anthony said she left Caylee had been vacant for about six months, Local 6 has learned.

Investigators said they located a woman named Zenaida Gonzales but she said she'd never heard of Caylee or Casey.

What happened to the 2hr interview being posted on her website? I can only find the shorter videos. Am I missing it? Can someone post the link?

I don't think these people had anything to do with Caylee's disappearance. I think they are distressed people that are hoping that the baby is alive and that their daughter is, for once, telling the truth. I think they are in a severe denial, but that doesn't make them guilty of anything excpet poor judgement.
I think we should be careful about the accusations being made on this thread about these people as I don;t think they are implicated at this point in any way and are possibly being duped by their daughter.jmho.

I agree JBean... I just don't believe they had anything to do with the actual disappearance. I don't believe they would have called the police had they truly known what happened to Caylee. I think they called the police as a way to force Casey to produce Caylee - and that's when the bomb went off... And now I think they are desperately trying to hold onto the dream that their daughter is not a monster. And I'm afraid they're going to be disappointed to find out she really is. And I'm still not convinced that Casey did anything intentionally. I'm still holding onto the hope that it was an accident and Casey is so warped she thinks she can actually get away with the story that someone took Caylee so she can avoid going to prison. She's going to be disappointed also.

Okay-loving this quote:
CINDY ANTHONY: I haven't had a chance to sit down and talk to Casey about, you know, a lot of different things, and I'm sure we'll have a big conversation when I have the opportunity to do so. You know, lying is not a criminal offense. You know, lying doesn't mean that you're a murderer.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,398490,00.html

Yes, lying is a criminal offense! When you lie to LE it is criminal! Hasn't your lawyer told you that?

Fl. Statutes 837.055 False information to law enforcement during investigation

LOL I heard her and I thought.. No way did she just say that! Her daughter is sitting in jail on charges including lying :bang: but it isn't criminal offense?

Help me understand something. In the interview with Greta, George admits he found the gas cans in Casey's trunk. I didn't hear any mention of pizza. What am I missing here? Was the pizza already removed? The pizza that was put in the trunk to try to mask the odor of dead body, that is...

Cindy understands her daughter very well. She has lived a lifetime putting up with Casey's lies and was tired of it, so finally called the police.

You wonder how kids develop this way and why the parents allow it? Her parents are major liars and will do anything to protect themselves and their daughter. They taught her that!

It all makes sense! Casey grew up with parents as liars and NEVER had to be accountable. Her parents never made her accountable.

She knew that if she told enough stories, lies, excuses, she would always win as she exhausts everyone, leads them in circles, and tries to confuse them.

She is a true sociopath and narcissist and her parents contributed to the way she turned out. They knew and know now what is happening, but refuse to face it, as they allowed this to happen.

I am absolutely astounded that they are trying to protect her, lying to friends, family, police, FBI, and the media. We know why Casey thinks that she can get away with this.

There is enough info in the Greta show tonight to keep us all busy sluething for a long time. And more tomorrow.

Seriously, all her parents are doing now is laying out more evidence and lies, hoping to move the story their way. Like Mother, like daugher. I am amazed her father is allowing this to happen also.

Everyone in that family has forgotten about Caylee. What a shame!

Lainey: That was an excellent post. I haven't seen the entire interview yet, but I think BOTH parents should be arrested for obstruction of justice. Too many lies. And yes, it's CLEAR to see why Casey turned out the way she did. In many cases, NOT all, where there is a mentally ill person in the family, the environment in which they are brought up in brings it out. This is an extremely dysfunctional family. Both the parents are sick, just as the both parents were in the Peterson case.

After watching the Greta videos over again, I tried to pay close attention to the way that Cindy was holding George's leg as he was talking, and his hand.
I wish that Greta could have all the wording removed at the bottom so we could clearly see what was going on everytime George spoke about his daughter.. I have a feeling that each time he spoke about what happened with the gas cans, that Cindy was squeezing his leg and arm as to say, "you shouldn't have said that"..

I saw video clips of the GVS interview this morning. It's obvious these grandparents adored Caylee. I can see the love and care for Caylee reflected all over the home, and it is truly heartbreaking.

This is my humble opinion. I feel very sorry for the Anthonys. It seems to me these grandparents did everything they could to provide for and care for Caylee since Casey hadn't acquired the resources to do so herslef. It seems though they are weary from this terrible state of sorrow and pain. Their voices are monotone...it's like they are numb with it. And they are obviously in a complete state of denial over Casey.

Their mannerisms belie their words....the downcast eyes, looking away; they don't really believe what they are saying in regard to CAsey. As if deep down, they know it doesn't make sense, but they carry on with this nonesensical, mixed up, convoluted story of their daughter's because they so desperately want, even need, to believe that Caylee is still ok; that Casey couldn't, wouldn't ever, do something so vile and evil.

Denial is a form of self-preservation. A defense mode to keep from cracking altogether during the process of coming to terms with something monumental. I don't know what it's like to be in the Anthony's shoes, but I think this is part of what they are experiencing. They are not responsible for what Casey has chosen to do as an adult, yet inside they may feel a terrible sense of guilt. Casey probably always had personality/behavior issues and was spoiled and enabled most of her life. I personally would like to shake Casey down and beat the truth out of her, but these parents and even her brother Lee (who from what I have seen appears to be a pretty decent and together young man) are apparently very used to handling Casey a certain way. They know her all too well...maybe they've learned that handling her with kids gloves and taking these particularly steps is the only thing that will get the truth out of her.

I agree with this entirely. They are not practicing deception, just denial.

JBean: I respectfully disagree. These parents are both lying and contradicting their stories. They both should be arrested for obstruction of justice. This is one crazy 🤬🤬🤬 family. I have NO sympathy for them whatsoever. Even more shocking is that George was once a sheriff himself.

I feel very strongly about this and I think the parent bashing is out of WS character.
I think there is a difference between inconsistent statements and being a liar. Casey is a liar. The parents not so much at this point, imo. I think these parents are learning how throwing around information casually or without thought is coming back to bite them in certain areas. I also see information being twisted by us here at WS and also by the media.

IMO, Cindy believes that Caylee is alive and I also think that George wants to believe it but his common sense is telling him otherwise.

I think these 2 are extremely conflicted and understandably so. They want to believe so badly they are racking their brains for information that may help.

I know I would be reluctant to think that my daughter was responsible for the death of my granddaughter. I would support my child until such time that it was clear to me that she did wrong. These parents are not at that point yet.
But their true test of character will come when it is clear to them that Casey is behind this and they continue to support her craziness.

"If that pints the finger to my daughter and they have concrete proof and not circumstantial evidence, I'll be the first one to say she needs to be where she's at," Cindy said.

I do agree JBean, though I also agree as a parent and grandparent if they never stood up to the plate so to speak, NOW is the time to do that. I understand from a parent's perspective protecting your child but if one of my children pulled this, they would not sleep if I have my way until ALL the questions were answered.. I do understand none of us are the same but how many times would one continue to allow an adult child to steal and lie and ignore it especially when your grandchild is missing.. Don't know that to many people would act as such at this point in time.

Here's a BIG clue, when Casey saw her mother picking up the phone to dial 911 when she found out that Caylee was kidnapped, WHY didn't Casey stop her and tell her she was afriad something would happen to Caylee if they called the cops? Why wasn't Casey worried then about the kidnappers?

HI Nedthan! I completely disagree with you so we are in agreement lol.:)

I think they are certainly an odd bunch but I think it would be important to really analyze the inconsistent statements in a logical rather than emotional way and reference links to support. I have seen misinformation carried through threads and that is always trouble. We have learned that in past cases.

I agree JBean... I just don't believe they had anything to do with the actual disappearance. I don't believe they would have called the police had they truly known what happened to Caylee.

Emphasis by me.

If this is true, it is not a reason to go easy on them. I am not a fan of random bashing, but theorizing that they have done something or had knowledge is part of creating theories that may or may not eventually lead to the return of this child, or heaven forbid her body.

If .... as you say they didn't having anything to do with it. . .but then found out and WOULD NEVER have called the police they would then be guilty of harbouring a criminal, or obstructing justice. One that either willingingly or accidently caused the death of a child intrusted to her care.

Not as guilty as having participated but guilty of a crime nonetheless.

Just my two cents.

Because NORMAL people would call the police to amend the report. We woke up one morning to find my van's window shattered. We filed a police report. Later on it dawned on my husband that he didn't move my car when he was weed whacking and a pebble must've hit the window. He just didn't notice it. He called and amended the report. Why? 1) LE does take neighborhood crime seriously. 2) LE tracks vandalism/crime in neighborhoods to see if stepped up patrols are needed. 3) Neighborhood watches are also notified. 4) Crime in your neighborhood is documented and affects your property values. 5) Homeowners insurance goes up as well with crime in the neighborhood. (And Florida already has serious insurance problems! LOL) And yes, even a small matter of stolen gas cans can add to all this. Because it is theft pure and simple.

Gigi: Good post. Also George was in LE. The fact that he didn't call back to ammend the report is supecious.

Alright, here me out here, what if this WHOLE thing was premeditated by Casey and her family is covering for her by saying they has heard about the babysitter nanny for a year and a half?

These dates now are going to be GREATLY important to this case. Because it could mean the difference between pre-mediated or cover-up

June wasn't that long ago, and someone may have shown her that apartment or remembered her filling out that card. sloppy handwriting, discontinued number, sounds to me that this was Casey. Now was she covering or what it premeditated?

Did Cindy and Casey get into a fight about Cindy taking Casey to see Great Grandpa for Father's Day? Is this when the fight happened and Casey stormed out with Caylee. Was Caylee murdered for some sort of revenge against the mother? The time frame from th 17th when this card was filled out until the 22nd-24th when the shovel was borrowed and gas cans stollen, could Caylee have been hidden in the trunk the whole time? Was the shovel borrowed prior to the gas cans being stollen? Was Caylee trying to pin this murder on her mother? She had a friends car to use, but instead she went to the home and stole her mother's car, not her father's, and didn't use her friends. Why steal the mother's car when she already had one to dispose of the body?

One of the attorneys on NG said something the other night. What she said was," why was an Amber Alert not initiated. She said it could have been because LE had reason to believe that Caylee was already deceased."

What an excellent point! This kidnapping story is getting tired. The stories are now changing by the hour. I can't figure out why George hasn't been arrested for driving a car that smelled of death and not reporting it.
Cindy has told so many lies she has lost track and Lee has lost all credibility in my book. jmo moo
Why are they allowed to get away with perjury? They are now telling entirely different versions Of EVERYTHING they stated on the witness stand.
:furious:

IF Casey used the shovel to break into that shed it would seem Mon June 23rd would have been the date she borrrowed the shovel. Mr Anthony said he was in the shed Sunday the 22nd, the police were at the house to file the report the morning of Tues the 24th. I doubt casey would have been digging bamboo late on the 22nd. If the shovel was used for the shed break-in, I feel like it must have been the 23rd it was borrowed.

Why not use the tire iron from her trunk to get in the shed? That seems a better tool for a lock breaking job than a shovel, imo.
