What is up with this being a mistake by the state? I must have missed this. I knew there were questions about the video, but never heard the interview discussed. What will this mean for the video release? What will this mean for trial?

Released by mistake ? In the words of Casey herself, "Oh well"...

I believe Tammy U's exact phrase was that someone said, "We think she's had enough". They're busted. It's quite obvious what their intent was for taking her to medical with the TV on and camera's rolling after hearing this. Not only that, TU is repeating what is being said between attorney and client, another no no, isn't it?

A FAKE reaction? How can one fake red blotches on the neck and chest? Listening to the description given by TU made me cry all over again. What a cruel way to be told one's daughter's body has likely been found. And I don't see how this can be compared to LPs drama. I never thought for a minute that would be the real thing. I'm sure Casey had his number before I did. But also, there was never any response that it may be anything by LE, quite different than this. We all knew it was likely Caylee.

Actually, I think this helps the defense, as invasive and disrespectful as it is. But again, it shows the prosecution is desperate for help and was willing to go to extremes to try and help themselves or their case, I'm sad to say. Their attorney can deny it all he wants but this interview spells it out pretty clear.

I think it was rather cruel for Casey to throw her baby in a snake infested swamp with her mouth duct taped shut after she killed her. That is my definition of CRUEL.:furious:
The only reason Casey was upset was because she knew her little game of hide n seek was over.

I agree, much better if the move was for a reason and they can back that up. I remember the atty for the jail, county, saying that they always take inmates to medical when a loved one has passed or other tragic circumstances. If they can prove that it was SOP and not specific to THIS situation I think it may be admissable.
The lawyer for the county also said that the tape is taped over repeatedly as are most in common areas , then the OTHER LAWYER STOOD UP AND SAID, "WE DO HAVE A COPY OF THE TAPE", this is where they veered off of SOP, (the tapes roll for security purposes, but making the copy as an arm of the prosecution, no.) Also, if the time stamps showed that JB was indeed there, being detained as he told the judge he was while she was walking KC down to see the news coverage and watch her reaction, this unfortunately will likely be not admitted in to evidence. I hope not. i know JB was chomping at the bid to get her deposed.

IMO, I think they the State is saying, "Whoops! We accidentally released a very damning interview. Oh well I guess."

Interview with Lt Tammy Uncer 3:42 pm Corrections Center
11:35 we took her down to medical to view the TV to see what was happening prior to her attorney getting her. Mental health staff was waiting for her to observe her to see if she would need services. Looked at TV breaking. Collapsed into chair. Shallow breathing, sweating hands, wanted cuffs loose as she felt they were getting tight. Red blotchy breakouts. She did not cry, did not look at tv but a couple of times. Audio was on. She could hear the TV and the location of the remains. This went on for 10 minutes. Mental health said then that was enough. Mental health staff asked how she was doing. Mental health did not want to discuss case. Made sure she would not hurt herself. At 12:45 she asked for a sedative. First time she asked if she could have any types of meds in jail. She asked if attorney is coming. Asked Tammy to stay in the room with her. Talking very fast, said it was all surreal and she could not break down. Then began to talk about the Football Championships. She did break down and cry with Jose Baez. Did ask for tissues, he took very little notes. There for 45 minutes before he took notes.
Demeanor after she left with attorney, she was shaking. They did clean out cell. Asked to take a shower to make herself feel better. Took a 10 min shower. Only see top of her head. Did appear to be calmer after shower. Mental health came back and spoke her at Casey’s request. She had been crying.

Very weird to talk to her. Non-emotional when talking. But first time she seen her be emotional and cry.
I sure hope this lady doesn't turn out to be friends with Kronk's girlfriend who works in the jail for heaven's sake! She messed up and let it slip that she could hear the conversation between KC and JB. No way in the world she doesn't repeat that at the water cooler or just to show off. In the pre interview before the tape they should have kicked her a few times! I live in TX and I remember once when an inmate escaped the local sheriff actually said on TV, "They are not rocket scientists, they are jail guards!" Remember how upset the police were in LA's interview when they heard him recount how the first arriving officer on the scene at the A home that night left the house while CA poured out, sorted and removed some of the money from KC's purse? Then the cop arrives on a call about "bones in a bag" and doesn't even ask the meter reader to show him the bag he is speaking of, just leaves the woods not having spotted it. Now this gem of a gal admits to taking KC to observe her reaction to the news about the body, and before her attorney gets to her. You don't need to have studied any of the dream team's styles on former cases to guess they are going to use the keystone cops messed up the evidence and made a rush to judgment defense, right?

I think this might be trouble. JB certainly was angry about the video tape, and I think he alluded to KC being taken to be observed deliberately and how inappropriate he felt that was. My question would be: who made the decision to do it this way? The Jail admin? Was it solely for the purpose of having Casey see mental health?

Yes, Tammy U. said she took Casey to watch the TV so she could see what was happening before her lawyer got there. So I have the same question as you: who told the prison guards to do this? I wouldn't think the guards could just decide to do it. Unless maybe Casey requested it and the guards asked permission. Another prison employee stated Casey was listening to the radio that morning in her cell so probably had already heard of the remains being discovered.

I think it's going to take alot more than a few mistakes by LE to get Casey off the hook. No murder investigation is flawless, I think LE has done a fantastic job so far in building their case against the chid killer.
She will be behind bars for decades and when/if she is released she will be a wrinkled, lonely old woman.

Do you think that they maybe they figure it won't be admissible in court, so they "accidentally" release it, since everyone has heard about it anyway?

  • #190
I agree! Innocent until proven guilty my a**!! Casey lost all her rights when she put Caylee in the trunk. She lost her rights when she waited 31 days to report Caylee missing. She lost her rights when she gave LE that bulls**t story about Caylee's whereabouts.

They should have left her in front of that TV until she had another seizure!

OK, I'm joining Seebra in time out. We'll be in the corner...come get us if anything exciting happens :)

I totally agree so move over and make room for me in the corner!

"In my gut", I think this is exactly what happened. Casey probably thought she could put on quite a show, playing the distraught mother. She thought she could fool them all but the little subconscious signs like the neck rash and hand rubbing give her away!

released accidentley... yeah sure, on purpose. Leaky, leaky.. not good news.

Don't you just hate it when that happens, oh well .... the cat is out of the bag now. Never mind. :)

Playing the Defense at their own media game?

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I hate this case.
Is there no one at all sticking up for the little baby? What has our legal system come to?

  • #196
My thought exactly! Between the hand rubbing and the 10 minute shower, all I can think is: "out damned spot!!"

KC actually has a habit (nervous) of rubbing her palms together even at court appearances, too.

Apparantly, IF Casey put her there, she has more ambition and courage than some of the LE, going into snake infested land. She couldn't have been thrown there to be in that position. I know, this is just my opinion. But it is more believable than the FBI still hasn't completed their testing and reports from way back in July.

Funny, courageous and ambitious are NOT words I would use to describe someone who victimized her toddler and her elderly grandparents.

Not sure if I truly believe it was a "mistake" myself. However, I don't see anything really damning to the SA about releasing this audio. It sucks when your client is a murderer and people witness her reaction to "getting busted on her reaction"

Like you said SFT, in the words of KC. "Oh well".

And I'm guessing the SA will go into the court or to the judge and explain their oops and get a slap on the wrist, such as the judge saying, "Well, look, it seems the SA did this accidentally, as there are thousands of discovery items. They admit to their mistake. Now be more careful in the future. To which Mr. Ashton will say "yes, your honor."
Then look over at Baez and whisper, "hey, you alright over there?" and walk out of the courtroom. LOL!

I'll agree with that but it does describe someone who would walk in there long enough to set a bag upright and walk back out. She wasn't likely thrown that many feet and their aren't too many girls that would play with snakes; not too many officers, apparently, either. Cain said he is afraid of them.
