Yes, crocus, but that's a different guy and he's reportedly still in jail.

Yeah for a long time, JM was sixteen yrs. old and misty testified against him. He was tried as an adult and sent to State Prison for 9 yrs.....

After she had done that I really can't think of any reason why Misty would have kept the most damning piece of evidence against Joe to herself if she actually was an eyewitness to him committing an abduction (and had no complicity herself).

Wouldn't she have whacked him upside his head with a baseball bat the next morning when he arrived to hang missing posters with her if she knew he did it? Never mind about the posters, Joe, what the **** did you do to Haleigh?

And why she never said anything and why Ron or Teresa or GGM haven't killed him? Why he hasn't been either arrested on something (you just know they could find something) or LE gone there to question him like they went to MA.

Hard to say...But great question! I've no idea really (but it won't stop me guessing... :crazy: )

Since Misty didn't define what she meant with the guys messing with her the field is wide open for interpretations and it's of course possible that something happened and the family knows it, and that's why they didn't deny (for fear that more family members would come up with statements).
But who knows what it may be. It could be something serious but if so, why were there no charges and why would Misty choose to live with Tommy later? It might be something trivial, like innocently playing doctors together and she just chose to portray herself as a victim or started to feel like one for her own psychological reasons afterwards.

If it's not even remotely true it's trickier. The natural instinct would be to defend oneself, I believe.

Did we ever hear if Joe lawyered up? He has been lying very low during all this. If he has an attorney it might be the lawyers advice to keep from commenting anything, to try and stay out of the brawl. It is easy to end up looking guiltier when publicly denying allegations, and he might feel he was better off not having his name and face in the media connected with the case. In the media reports he was mostly referred to as "the cousin", not his whole name IIRC.

Misty was branded as a liar anyway, so someone might have advised them to lie low and wait it out, hoping that it would be forgotten soon and not believed because she said it in a failed honesty test.

Tommy might have some intricate family dynamics going on with Misty. They seem to have a hot and cold relationship, alternatively going for restraining orders and living together. Who knows what kind of baggage they're dragging to their relationship during this case. He was in a bit of a bind, IMO, since the family does not appear to want Misty to go down for whatever happened to Haleigh and it was in the best interests of the Croslins to have people believe in her credibility so if her brother comes up saying hey my sister was lying about me, what are people gonna think?

The day Haleigh turned up missing, Chelsea tells me Joe was putting up Haleigh posters, then split for Tennessee. That’s where the agent found him.

“He said, ‘We know what we can prove, and what’s not true,’” says Chelsea, “And we are moving forward. Thanks for calling us.’”

This last bit is cryptic but promising I guess.

Wonder how come she didn't tell this story when LE paid her and Timmy a visit in Mass a few months back. If she just heard this rumor, it must have come out since the drug bust - wonder who relayed this to her. One sure has to wonder about those redactions in the jailhouse tapes...

ETA - guess I should have read the article - it does state Chelsea said she just heard this right after the drug busts. JMO - but since we know Misty told about Tommy stealing from the neighbor, it is also possible Misty gave this tidbit to LE along with the tattling on Tommy. Most likely source of this I think. Question is did Misty say this in a phone call, how did this information come to Chelsea ? Odd it just now comes out, when Misty is actually facing jail time. Just sayin... windys and deflectons have worked this long for Misty, why not another shot at it.

Art says Chelsea heard this rumor a month ago, after Misty ended up in jail and apparently reported it pretty soon after that. Dunno... the way it's phrased makes me think Chelsea didn't hear it from the horse's mouth, aka Misty but from a family member. If it's gossip that's been doing the rounds in the Croslin family who knows how the story might have changed in the telling.

Yeah, she joined right in with Misty's tune about Joe from the beginning but she never really came right out and accused him from what I recall. Even when she was interviewed when the van was returned, she still didn't out right accuse Joe. This is totally new though.

My bet, Misty was really talking when she got busted...or this is contained in some phone call either with Timmy or with her parents and got redacted out.

In my opinion, this is just another one of MC's attempts to confuse the matter and throw suspicion off of her. I can't come up with one good reason why she would not have told this in the beginning if it were true. And even though RC has his problems, I have to agree with Nasty Grace that he was genuinely upset that night, so wouldn't you think he would have immediately done whatever he had to do to hunt this guy down and either get Haleigh back or make him pay for whatever he had done to her? It makes no sense and I think it's just something MC is throwing out there, thinking that everybody is stupid enough to say "wow, thanks for the info. now you're free to go and we'll go arrest him." She doesn't care what she says or who she says it about as long as it helps her. And while I understand she doesn't have the best education (but by the grace of God go I), supposedly she's street smart and wouldn't street smarts tell you that you need proof and evidence to back up claims before LE will act? This is truly a terrible terrible trainwreck that you just can't turn away from.

That's what I thought too, but apparently the accident happened after the "homecoming".

I don't have time right now to look up where I got this info from as I have to go to work, but it was either reported here or on Art Harris' site, as these were the only two sites I visited yesterday.

yes yes yes, wasn't it stated somewhere that WBG or somebody was supposed to "hook up" with MC but MC kept saying that she had to go visit her dad in the hospital? I clearly remember something about MC having to go to the hospital to see dad and it was either that Sunday or Monday (pretty sure it was Sunday tho)
