Oh. Crap. I was going to watch the Geraldo show for the first time tonight. And I forgot to!

Two thoughts:
#1 - When someone has been arrested on any kind of a drug charge there is often pressure put on them to "set up" other people in exchange for a plea bargain. I am unsure of Ron's arrest background, but if there was more than one arrest and he never served any time, or probaation, or house arrest, etc. I would strongly suspect that there was some kind of a deal made.

#2 - I am remembering a case from around 1 - 1 1/2 years ago where a father had his kids visiting a friends house and one little boy went outside just as they were about to leave. The father came out with another child just a few minutes later and the first child had disappeared. The child was found some days later drowned in a septic tank on the property into which he had fallen.

I assume police have checked things like this. And it also would not explain the door being propped open, would it?

So sad, so sad when these little ones disappear.

Just my 2 cents. This all took on a new meaning for me tonight and a probable reason Haleigh has disappeared. When Geraldo asked Ron if he was an informant, the bells went off in my head. If Ron was outed as an informant, oh boy.

SS, I don't even get the point of the BioMom's family bringing this photo to light. Do these people not understand that if a child is injured at school and one tiny mark is left on said child an incident report is filed, pictures are taken, witness statement from other teachers. Just in case of a lawsuit. Then to top it off, RC took Haleigh to the Dr. the very next day (this was further down in GR's show) to have Haleigh evaluated and returned 6 days later for a follow up because RC thought her nose might be broke. This whole picture thing was stupid. JMO.

I agree. When I worked in a school system, they took their reporting duties very seriously. If the school suspected abuse and reported it, I think the allegations would have been taken seriously. (As opposed to a mother calling DCF when she may have an axe to grind).

I think this is unfair. The paternal side wants answers, too! Misty...it seems has them somewhere and isn't being upfront. This is not the fault of the paternal side of the family. It is HER fault!

And if they want answers, they can park themselves at LE's door...nothing said tonight was designed to get folks who might know something to come forward. It was a completely self-serving interview, in my opinion, and probably did far more harm than good, especially with regard to the implication that Ron is an informant.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Cronkite and Brinkley are spinning in their graves over what passes for reporting these days.

Then I hope Ronald's family comes out swinging with all the things they have on Bio Mom's family next!! There is PLENTY to tell there!!

Have we found any rap sheets on bio-mom? I would think since she was with RC in Putnam (said they lived with his mom for awhile) wouldn't we be able to come up with drug convictions? I know we all looked and found all that stuff on RC - but did we find anything on her?

The school system my daughter attended allowed for 9 excused absences per year, it had nothing to do with whether the parent called in or not. After those 9 absences, if a doctor's note was not provided the absence was considered unexcused, even if the parent did call in.

I posted all the local and state policies and statutes on attendance in the media thread a couple of days ago. If a child has a "disability" (for lack of a better word) RC could have (and should have) gone to the school with the documentation of Turner's and things would have changed. There would have been a child study team appointed and she would have been considered ESE - they would have allowed the absences and even had a visiting teacher assigned (if she got real sick and was out for extended time) but with these intermittent absences she would have been assigned a tutor - possibly even home tutor to help her keep up. DCF got involved because it is first turned over to a school social worker - the school SW checks everything out and then either handles it at the school level or if things "aren't right" then reports to DCF. I believe that is how DCF got involved. RC doesn't seem like the type of guy that likes people intruding and asking questions (F her DOB - who cares about her DOB) so he probably fought every action that was taken by the school - which just pizzes them off and then they take action.

I'd doubt that a mobile home community would have septic tanks. They are probably on a city sewer system.

Really I think its time for all these people to go home. Just what are they accomplishing staying there? Keeping the story alive maybe.
Seriously under the living conditions and the stress most of them are pretty worthless. Sitting in judgement of people in their condition is pretty cruel.

All these trips to the station, maybe Misty is supplying the information on all the guys that come around that place.

I can't see the show, but I have read the custody court hearing, and the judge said the reason he gave custody to Ron was because he had a job, period.
The report is a good read.
Ron took his one and two year old to Texas and threatened to take them to Mexico. Crystal imo knew she would never see her kids again if she got custody.
Both Crystal and Misty were acting the same way when this thing started. IMO, they have both been pysically and emotionally abused by Ron. I have thought this from the beginning. I thought he was fake crying, but I also thought Misty and Crystal were as well.
Ron having Misty call 911 instead of him doing it was strange. I did not think that he killed Haleigh though.

I think this is a good thing because it caused people to see how quick tempered Ron really is. jmo

Thank you for this. I'm unsure about the wisdom of doing that show, but I do think people have been getting wrong ideas about things, and that they need to be cleared up somehow.

Why wouldnt Ron jsut come clean, he says he just wants his daughter back, why not be 100% forthright, it almost seems like he doesnt want to lose his "connection"
Geraldo started off asking him if he was a DRUG INFORMANT! Where did he get this info?????Locally? Probably because Ron was charged with many drug crimes, but no convictions? Ron doesnt want to make the local dealers mad, or suspicious. I am afraid I would have to spill all the beans if I were him. Maybe he has to LE, but to get on tv and deny it makes him look so bad, and is only going to have the spotlight shined brighter on him and his activities, and not on Haleigh

Bolded by me. After someone here found Ronald's rap sheet I said the same thing. It is just my little opinion, but yes, I believe that Ronald gave up his supplier. Anyone in my state would have done a little time. I also think that leaving the scene of an accident where there were injuries should have gotten him into a bit more trouble. Now Ronald has denied any substance abuse problems on national TV - not good for him!

In any small town is a good old boy network. Since his mother is a dispatcher, she either knew someone or had a direct influence on the outcome of Ronald's charges.

In any case, that question is out there on national TV where Geraldo (ugh!) asked Ronald if he was an informant. That will be enough for the locals to think it might be so.

I cannot stand Geraldo, but this interview with Ronald and then Crystal has given LE a chance to see another side of Ronald on tape. With the new Sheriff, FDLE, and the FBI, the little good old boy network will not work now. His Mom will not have any pull in this one.

I really hope that LE has at least one deputy standing guard between the two camps. The gloves are off on both sides and it is ugly.

Hi Cheko, Amazing to me. Indigo thought so too. He had the other statement also, SS to 'I'd give my life to have her life back'.

It tells me his subconscious mind can't be blocked. He wants to put out a certain image or thought she is alive. But it is like some knowledge he has leads him to believe she is dead. I think both weird statements lead one to where he thinks she is dead but he won't come out and say that. He knows something.

I will probably have to eat my hat but I believe the bio Mom and her family...ok I said it...night all...before I do leave though as one poster said....the dad's sister will pull that wig off and jerk her earring off and whip the mom...yep that is how that usually happens...and it ain't pretty.
