2009.03.10 - Hand Written Note From Tot Mom in Response to Pros. Motion

HMM Well where I come from a "story" usually entails a great deal of fabrication!

You're not slow, you're keen. I believe KC and JB deliberately omitted any mention of Caylee videos or pics.

Why thank you Marlene. It just seemed to me that the statement sell "my story" is so vague it could mean anything -- or nothing. As I read that over and over, the thing really became meaningless to me.
So now my next silly question is this: IF Casey is authorizing the sales, would there not have to be checks from the buyer made out to Casey Anthony? After which she would then sign over to her attorney? And wouldn't she have to pay income tax on this money?

I really don't understand Casey making this statement...Period! This number 7 statement has nothing to do with the fact she was just to give information as to whether or not she has given Baez any rights to a story. What was her need for even adding the additional information, as another poster said her "opinion". She is gonna hang her own self there will be no need for the SA to do much work. She has another 7 months in fact to continue to do just that.

That little note tells me somebody might be getting angry. Maybe being on lockdown is starting to get a tad irritating? I can't believe baez would allow such an immature statement be printed on something filed with the court. Why would they be mad she didn't take a plea deal? Who cares now? They found Caylee's remains anyway, and she still has the possibility of spending her life behind bars! I don't think things could have worked out any better in the eyes of justice. Sorry kc, the joke is on you.

The document is more noteworthy for what it doesn't include. Doesn't say anything about photos or videos. It also doesn't say whether or not he has a lien on her right to sell her own story or that of Caylee.

Hopefully I'm not being obtuse, but:

Casey handwrote this?

Hmmm- everything else she has said and signed her name to has been a lie.
So are we to deduce that this little missive is also a lie?

and can this be used as an argument by the prosecution?

I guess she thinks that writing it in capital letters makes it so.

I never thought about that shgrbkr, but I think you could be right. You're on a roll with some good questions tonight my dear!

Thank you So Cal, the writing is so specific it is laughable. Does Baez et al think we are really that dumb? Please lol.

There is soooo much that is not said that gets me thinking ....hmmmmm!!

Good question! IIRC there was a legal defense trust with some donations supposedly paid into the trust and then dispersed across the experts. I'd assume this benefactor, if true, took this route to obfuscate where the money is sourced from and where it goes to? There was a similar ruse with the bail money when KC was re-bonded out as she bounced in and out of jail.

If this is how Defense and Justice operates in the future then .....

If proven that defense is being paid by profit from Caylee's death, could the state or Mr Morgan (if he wins civil for zanny) demand that money be returned upon KA conviction? It probably doesn't work that way but I thought I would ask.

Interesting take from the Orlando Sentinel:

The affidavit does not mention whether Baez gets a portion of money Casey Anthony receives for allowing news outlets exclusive access to her photos or videos. Major news organizations routinely pay "licensing fees" to get them.

"What is not addressed in the motion is confidential and private," Baez's spokeswoman Marti Mackenzie said.

Does this mean that Baez is not the making deals but KC is??

One "buyer" well known by now is ABC. It certainly wouldn't be very hard for the SA office to track that down. A paper trail might get confusing at times, but is never untraceable. IMO.
Judge S is far from stupid and will see right through this smokescreen. JB is orchestrating the whole thing and will get his a$$ in a sling over this.
BTW..can you imagine KC finally having reportable income and having to actually pay taxes?

...and wasn't that money allegedly coming from a weathly family out of Connecticut? Makes ya wonder doesn't.

Actually, April 15 is coming up pretty soon! Seems to me there's been mention of the $200,000 she received in '08. That puts her up there in the tax brackets!

Hope JB has a good accountant for her financial affairs or, like Al Capone, she could go down on tax charges.

As I stated on another thread (sorry, mods, I should have put it on this thread to begin with--please don't yell at me :-) ):

Makes me wonder just what her exclusive interview would have been about that Baez has been rumored to be shopping around for half a million bucks, if it isn't her story or that of little Caylee.

Was she planning to talk about the high cost of rice or the recent peanut recall?

Ok...now this I didn't know...people actually donated to THAT fund? Interesting. Is there any link to this?

Blackened by me: what does that mean??!!

Casey could have sold the rights to her "story" to a third person and that third person in return is paying Baez and the defense. There are numerous ways to broker a deal.

jmo

The defense simply imploded today with no ideas and no case law. Too many errors to list, associated pages give idea.

I wonder if People mag bought her pics, videos or her story? I know it was rumored that JB tried to sell them photos for $500,000.00. I wonder if he was successful?
