Question. In news articles yesterday a couple of the media mentioned that included in the doc dump were comments from some blogs. Anyone found those yet? Have a link or know which blogs?
For those who are looking for bombshells, most likely this is going to be a circumstancial case. Any DNA or fingerprints that might have been on or around the remains would have been degraded by the weather exposure. There are no witnesses or none that have come forward. Cause of death was undetermined at autopsy, and if anything has been found since it hasn't been released. So there is no smoking gun that we know of.
But a circumstancial case is still a very viable case. KC's actions will go a long way, in getting the jury wondering. Not reporting Caylee missing, partying, her behavior with investigators. Jury will be very focused on KC as this behavior would appear very abnormal. Then comes the forensics. Not one but many of the items found at the scene could be seen as matched to the A home. Besides the remains themselves, there are the trash bags, the duct tape, and possibly the sticker. One piece could be coincidence, but this many is incriminating. And the sticker thing will be an attention getter for the jury. Things found in the vehicle that connect a Caylee that wasn't alive, like the decomp and the hair. The vehicle was in KC's control and it is documented that the smell began before the vehicle was dumped. JB can say junk science, but the jury knows better. The computer activitity shows a lot toward state of mind. Witness statements also show her state of mind. And if they can get the other criminal activity during that time period in, so much the better. IMO this is a very strong circumstantial case, just with what we know so far. Convictions have been obtained on much less.
We also don't know all of it. They have released a lot, but they control the releases. And it appears they are releasing in an inverse order of importance. Remember, they started the releases with the psychic tips. So my guess would be the really important stuff isn't released yet. As others have pointed out, most of the forensics testing isn't out yet and probably won't be until just before the trial. And if you notice how much JB complains about how he can't get it, that shows just how important he thinks it is.
Finally, prosecution is working on the big picture. The timeline, the motive and theories on how, where and when it happened. They will put all those little bits and pieces together to where they all make sense. And even knowing all we know about a case, there is often little points that will slip by us until the case is tried. Then when they are seen in context they make more sense.
So have faith in the prosecution and LE and don't give up yet. They were confident enough about getting a conviction that they filed the charges before Caylee's remains were ever found. That is something that the prosecution will try not to do because most prosecutors feel that it weakens the case and could jepordize a conviction. But this prosecution felt they had enough without the body.
So don't give up yet, IMO we will see a strong sentence for KC. Others have brought up the OJ case, but that case had a couple of things going that this case doesn't have. It had celebrity factor, which this case doesn't have. The only celebrity factor here, is apparently in relation to the death of a child and her actions afterward. Not the same thing.
