2009.04.07 Baez Under Investigation Again By Florida Bar

Exactly. I am as confused as you. Either Strickland's complaint is "private" or there was no official complaint at all.

Complaint 1: alleged non-payment court reporter service. File closed.

Complaint 2: Todd Black press releases. File closed (Jan. 23 according to what I see)

Complaint 3: ? Is this the advertising complaint "going to diversion"?

Where is Strickland's complaint?

Exactly....my "What if for Complaint 2" from your earlier post was that Strickland's complaint (and possible the complaint by DC --if that is true) could both be "piggybacked" to the original TBlack statements complaint, and not filed as a NEW complaint--re-opened instead.

Maybe they just cannot keep up with all these complaints, they are not used to so many in so little time. So they are all "piggybacked" as the Mr. B complaint.

I really don't think so. The Strickland complaint has a whole thread AND there was a complaint filed against BC at the same time, which seems to have escaped most people's attention.

Thanks for pointing that out PH. I'm over looking for the actual complaint but it's buried deep in that thread and I haven't found it yet. Do you know if Bar complaints made by judges are kept private? I'm just trying to get my brain wrapped around what's actually going on with that particular complaint. Between what's been reported in the media and what Theonly1 has found out - I'm left scratching my head. The Bar told Theonly1 that JB has had three complaints lodged against him. 2 were closed in 2008 and one of them in going to diversion. Is this the judges complaint or the complaint about JB's misleading webpage? Does anyone know? :waitasec: :blowkiss:

Looks like Judge Strickland's complaint was lumped into D Casey's complaint.

From above referenced article http://www.clickorlando.com/news/19139567/detail.html

"The Florida bar is now investigating Casey Anthony's defense attorney regarding the matter to see if he violated any rules.

Judge Stan Strickland also referred a complaint against Baez to the bar, but it was in reference to Casey's original complaint in order to make the bar aware of the situation."

I did not see a complaint that involved DC or Strickland. So either they did not tell me about it or send it to me, or it was piggybacked onto another closed complaint and no papers with their involvement or names were included. Weird.

Someone other than me can contact Tallahassee to find out the real skinny. PM me and I'll give you the name and contact information.

So what are the likely consequences for JB's actions, aside from the fact that he would most certainly be removed from this case. Could criminal charges be filed? Could he be disbarred? What is the most likely scenario of events that will take place providing he did as he's accused of doing?

Good is all I have to say. Also, I sincerely hope that this won't keep KC from getting what she deserves...DP or life in prison. Seriously.

Has anyone kept track of how many investigations by the Florida Bar JB has had in this case? Is this number 3 or 4?

ETA IF this true, and I repeat IF, how much legal trouble would JB be in? Could he lose his law licence? Maybe one of our Legal minds could let us know what the results COULD be.

No I have not kept track but hopefully he will lose his license before he makes it to his 4th year in practice. :furious:
Geeesh...He only got it in 2006

ZOMG.....Bad Jose. Bad! What next...are they going to go after him for knowing it was there?

I did say something like this somewhere;
IMHO if we will ever get to dissect the money trail we will find who hired JB.
I do not think they would have hired him if they thought that this guy is going to be working
"by the letter of the law" if you know what I mean.

NOW I can see why Casey really wants him, and why GA is not doing more to protect her from an
attorney that IMO will definitely send her up river, for life. JMO

The money probably wouldn't have stopped this snowball coming down the hill. Here it comes:
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
See mama :) it is like a sweater with a snag...once you start to pull it begins to unravel. :blowkiss:

We need more unravel in this case. Every little bit helps. :)
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I hope DC taped JB and it cant be a he said she said. But it sure is a good start.

"snip" from article: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/19526462/detail.html

"IMO"

There is our answer to where this complaint stands. The article speaks volumes to me. Look at the stages of the complaint process. So, as of right now what this article is telling me is that they did find probable cause and the complaint is now at the disciplinary process stage.

Complaints filed with the bar against attorneys are first examined at the staff level by the bar. Many complaints are dismissed at this level. Casey's complaint was not dismissed at the staff level and has been forwarded to a grievance committee, which is the next level of investigation.

The grievance committee will conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether or not there is probable cause that a bar ethics violation occurred.
If the committee finds probable cause, the complaint will be escalated to the disciplinary process. Which is the headline for today's news article. Did I understand this correctly? If not all help to clarify is greatly appreciated.

DC and JH were SOOO close to the body. They obviously knew it was there somewhere. I hope and pray that someone will admit who told them to look there. I have a very strong feeling that they may very well have spotted it and out of fear for what would happen, did not report it to LE or JB. Instead, they left it alone and high-tailed it out of there. They didn't tell JB because I think he may have wanted them to move it. Just my theory!

Ah, yes! The part of the interview that went off tape...so let's see, LE knows who DC was talking about and suddenly JB is under another ethics investigation.

It must have been Baez not George or Cindy, because if I am remembering correctly the Judge filed a complaint too, and isn't Dominick one of the people on the Caylee Anthony foundation board? Any lawyer would have advised him to cut all ties with them if he had been on the phone that day with one of them and it was sure to come out in trial.... so in my opinion his lawyer told him to tell the truth about Jose. I do think Dominick is no white knight in shinning armor either, Yuri caught him in several lies in that interview. One could search high and one could search low for a hero in this group. I take that back, Tim Miller is the one true good guy!

I have been thinking along the same lines and feel that they did find Caylee and were shocked and just didn't know what to do or who to call out of fear of the unknown. Caylee's remains were so close to the road and RK just happen to stumble across them, with all the digging and searching that Hoover and Casey were doing, I would imagine it would of been almost impossible for them to miss the body "IMO".

This whole case is so surreal! As more info comes out, it become clearer and clearer to me that there is no doubt KC was responsible for Caylee's death, whether accidental or on purpose. And if not for JB, and indirectly whoever hired and paid for him and TB, this case would have been over a long time ago. I hope and pray that the whole truth is revealed and ALL the guilty parties have to answer and pay for what they have done, how they have dragged this out and cost the taxpayers of Florida big $$$$$. Not to mention how they blocked the truth from coming out and prevented justice for little Caylee.

Everyone involved in this case has an angle. I tried to figure out which one was being honest and true with no self-serving motivation. -- They are all slime. Follow the money and many of our questions will be answered.
