2009.04.07 Baez Under Investigation Again By Florida Bar

Update: Complaint #3 **is** for advertising.

This means one of three things:

1. There is no Strickland complaint (ummm, not likely as the press went crazy and I'd think someone would have corrected them),
2. The Strickland complaint is not public record, or
3. The Strickland complaint is/was piggybacked to another complaint.

I'm starting to feel like I'm in All the President's Men. Cripes.

I'm just curious what in the world did Baez do regarding advertising? LOL

False advertising on his website. Claiming he won X amount of cases when in fact he didn't win any. He was a paralegal/assistant on the cases not the actual attorney.

I'd be interested in hearing from that psychic chick who tried to back DC in the beginning of this by claiming the A's mailed her one of Caylee's bears so she could get a sense of her location, and that it was her on the phone with DC that morning. Also, did anyone ever ask CA & GA if that were true? Seems an easy enough question, but I don't recall seeing an A answer.

I know one thing, I've never heard so many lies from so many people........ the only one that I believe hasn't lied is Cindy's mother, how sad.... I CAN'T STAND THE A's.....They are the most despicable people i have ever seen.
Florida will go down in history for the most liiars. and they are going to go broke after this case is done.... and for what???? why is this monster KC so important?

"snip" from article: http://www.clickorlando.com/news/19526462/detail.html

"IMO"

There is our answer to where this complaint stands. The article speaks volumes to me. Look at the stages of the complaint process. So, as of right now what this article is telling me is that they did find probable cause and the complaint is now at the disciplinary process stage.

Complaints filed with the bar against attorneys are first examined at the staff level by the bar. Many complaints are dismissed at this level. Casey's complaint was not dismissed at the staff level and has been forwarded to a grievance committee, which is the next level of investigation.

The grievance committee will conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether or not there is probable cause that a bar ethics violation occurred.
If the committee finds probable cause, the complaint will be escalated to the disciplinary process. Which is the headline for today's news article. Did I understand this correctly? If not all help to clarify is greatly appreciated.

This article is very unclear. The headline states "P.I. Complaints Against Baez Escalated"

However, the article states that the complaint has been forwarded to the grievance committee to determine whether or not there is probable cause, at which time the complaint will be escalated to the disciplinary process.

I do not see where it is stated that the grievance committee HAS forwarded the matter for disciplinary action.

I can't tell if the writer jumped the gun by stating that the complaint is actually in the dsciplinary process or if it is still with the grievance committee.

Does anyone have contact information for this journalist so that we can get clarification?

Or maybe a phone call to the Bar would be the easiest way to find out the truth of where the matter stands.

Complaints filed with the bar against attorneys are
**1**first examined at the staff level by the bar. Many complaints are dismissed at this level, Local 6 News reporter Mike DeForest said.

**2**Casey's complaint was not dismissed at the staff level and has been forwarded to a grievance committee, which is the next level of investigation.

The grievance committee is comprised of attorneys and private citizens who will conduct a thorough investigation to determine whether or not there is probable cause that a bar ethics violation occurred.

**3**If the committee finds probable cause, the complaint will be escalated to the disciplinary process.

I numbered what I think are the steps. I took it to mean the complaint was examined by (#1)the staff level, and HAS NOW BEEN PASSED ON (escalated) TO (#2) the grievance level, and depending on those findings, MAY be passed on to (#3) to determine the discipline necessary.

That is exactly how I read it, too. That is why the headline is so misleading--the complaint is with the grievance committee and IF they find probable cause, it will be escalated to the disciplinary process.

The headline seems to state (and take for granted) that the complaint has ALREADY gone through the grievance committee, that probable cause was found and that it has been expedited for disciplinary action.

These journalists need to get their act together before submitting articles for publication.

Hey MB, I believe right after the DP atty motion by the state came out, JB started to avoid the reporters. He does know how to stay away from the camera's when it's beneficial to him, huh ?

Sooner or later all of this (whatever this is) will blow up in everyone's face. It all goes back to money, I am willing to bet on that (not real money of course)
After all none of these people are accountable for REAL money. Just mystery bucks. The lawyer doesn't pay the PI, the PI screams .. the judge is so confused as to where any money came from he is spinning in his robes. Padilla is spinning so many stories that no one knows truth from fiction. My head is spinning just trying to remember who did what to who and when did they do it.
Must be a Florida thing. :) Oh and lest we forget, NG is spinning bomb shells on their ears. Toy horses and duct tape flying everywhere. Please let this be over soon. (I am praying for that every night)

I'd like to know what ever happen to this complaint as well as the one from DC? How long does this usually take and will we ever hear what the complaint was about?

ewwwww (my gasp is supposed to rhyme with few)! A part of me is still naive enough to believe that things like this just don't happen, particularly when one is--or at least poses as--an officer of the Court. So when I hear something like this, I feel like I need to scrub myself clean! ::bath:

If true, how could he? Such gall! Such a tendency to "con"! Just the type of legal representative which KCA needs to help her learn to be more honest and forthcoming. Not!
