2009.07.30 Deposition Lee Anthony

Even funnier is how he can have a vivid recollection of one thing...and zippo of another. Yup...he's responsible for a whole lot. There is no doubt in my mind that he was the "clean up" guy...so ordered by his mother.
You are so right RR0004.

I think all the laughing through this depo,is a bit strange!! Although perhaps it is nervous laughter. Nah,I really don't think it's nervous laughter, thier wierd !!!:waitasec:

Snip:

Whenever I come to a point in the depos where I wonder why on earth the SAs didn't bring up something, or corner the Anthonys into admitting something, I remind myself of what one brilliant WS pointed out: These depositions were taken under subpoena and therefore carry with them a guarantee of immunity. Or, to quote what the SA told George at the beginning of his depo:

"Not only can nothing that you tell us here be used against you, but nothing that we derive from what you tell us be used against you."
Good point! I was thinking that this was also a matter that must have been thoroughly discussed prior to this day. Oh my, there is still so much we don't know. My prayers have always been for Caylee. But now, I do hope and pray that when this is all done, this family gets their due.

I hope they lock the whole family up with a chocolate key and eat it !!!:dance::dance:

It reminds me of GA saying that the body that had been in the back of KC's trunk was not his granddaughter. Then whose body did he think it was?

I dunno. I find dead strangers in my trunk, all the time, don't you?

D---ed nuisance, it is, too! ;-)

One morning you're late for work, and you find you hafta take a corpse outta the trunk...

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think a corroborated "admission" from those three would prove anything.

All that garbage about "oh, I was too tired to read through all the discovery" and "I only read a couple of interviews" and "I didn't have a chance to look at that" is a total crock, imo. What else do these people have to do all night, every night. Talk? They are prepping for trial. It's obvious.

Particularly since CA, "hasn't slept for a year."

Holy Cow! I have been trying to get through LA's depo all week and it's just......like a verbal twilight zone! There are very few instances where he will respond with a straightforward "yes" or "no" or even an "I don't remember". He talks and talks, repeatedly using phrases like "you know". I think he has learned to speak this way in order to keep from committing himself to any particular "truth" until someone ELSE decides that truth for him. I think he's used to starting out talking, then leaving things open-ended until CA sort of wraps things up for him and lets him know what he thinks! LOL!

It is sad, really...I think that he probably was invested in getting at the truth in the beginning. Now he's just towing the family line and forgetting all about Caylee.

Liars tend to over-explain.

I totally agree. They are quick to say someone else lied or that they believe that someone else is the nanny, but when asked if KC refers to herself as the nanny, the subject gets changed or they say that they believe her story about the nanny, while admitting that she lies. And they can't believe someone else might not be exactly correct on a date, but they have changed plenty of dates that they said something happened. They make it sound like everyone KC knew is covering up a story except KC, who is just speaking in code.

Fave CA quote, "KC always tells me the truth, when she lies."

Speaking of which...where the heck did they sit when they were talking in the garage? Did they pull out some lawn chairs?

I thought that Lee's repeated laughter may have been a result of nervousness. Some people laugh inappropriately when stressed, some may clear their throat, etc.
IMO...nah...not this time. There is something very "off" about this guy.

Page 22.....Line 2......Referring to Dad being a coach type of relationship, but bonding more with mom over issues. Again, I see the pattern of CA excluding GA from important issues.
To be honest with you, I don't think anyone in that family likes the guy.

George was relegated to the role of handyman and mechanic in that house years ago. Any decisions required Cindy's approval.

I've always thought there is something seriously wrong with Lee. At various times his behavior and reasoning have mimicked Cindy's belligerant superiority, slyness, dishonesty, evasiveness, and repulsive flair for drama. Others WSers here, who are kinder (or blinder? :waitasec:) than I, often express sympathy and empathy for him because he's been dragged into this Casey/Caylee mess. I have a great deal of sympathy for him for being born to Cindy and George Anthony, but that is as far as I go. I think that if he were a little smarter than he is, he would have succeeded in his efforts to do serious damage to the case against his sister.

I agree, he'd derail the investigation if he could. From the beginning I've believed that he's destroyed evidence- emptied email folders, caused the BSOD, etc. I just don't judge him for the choice he made. This is probably why I still feel sympathy for him, despite his (suspected) actions.

After all, family loyalty has been one of the most powerful social forces throughout recorded history. One might even say it's human nature.

Or when she may have been honest (g-d I can't believe I said that) and laughed and said JG was NOT ZFG...he doesn't believe her.

I thought that was funny too. It is like they pick and choose to decide what she is really lying about.

hehe...and then you have to tell your co-workers about those dang squirrels that crawled up in the engine and died :)

great post :)

He's slick, unlike Casey. Though I don't think he has been trying to do any damage to the case against his sister. Imo, he has been trying to actually help build the case against her.. if not for Lee we would not know half of the bad stuff Casey has done throughout her life.

I have seen the term "psychopath" come up over and over again in this case but I am of the opinion that it is being used for the wrong member of this "family".

BBM.

Oh really?? Interesting! Are there specific examples that make you think this or is it more of a 'gut' type of character reading?

Or maybe you've already posted about this on another thread? I hope so, your insights are always thought-provoking.

I think LA knows a lot of things that KC has done that CA and GA don't know about. With family dynamics such as theirs, each of them "plays" the other members of the family to get the info they want, and I would guess that their loyalties would change frequently, depending upon what each of them wants from each of the others at the time.

But CA sure told zg" lawyer go head I prepared for this .....hmmm::banghead:
