2009.07.30 Deposition Lee Anthony

  • #201
I found it interesting that LA had such a severe reaction to his acne medicine. CA says he was never really the same after a year and a half of recovery. When you consider this documented medical condition and the mere fact that he was raised in an environment where people speak code and use one family member to get to the other, its a miracle that he is even semi-functional. There are probably some significant psych-eval terms that would apply to his ability to meld into normal relationships and situations considering all the compounding factors that have made him who he is.
I'm pretty sure I don't trust him (yet) but I do think, initially, he was trying to help.

When he was asked about learning of Dominick being in the wooded area he uses the same sentence that his mother used in an excited utterance the day the police arrested Casey "I had someone walk that area and there was nothing there", here in Lee's depo he tells that mom said Dominick had "already walked that area" according to Cindy. She later denied saying that to the officers , now we have her using the exact same sentence to Lee.

Does anyone remember back when all this started, Lee asked ...Is this like the last time? Or something close to those words. Has anyone ever asked Lee in any interview what he meant by that? I just can't seem to get that comment by LA out of my head. What happened 'last time'?

That one and CA statement in the driveway, "I can't/don't want to lose another one".
I wasn't aware that she had lost one before, I wish these 2 statements could be clarified.

  • #204
Probably! lol But I wish that someone had investigated this. To go from lying and cheque stealing to murder is a big step. Just wondering if there were other steps in between that we havn't heard about yet. To imitate CA...What did you do, KC?

Apparantly, they had a lot of dead pets, they had a sort of pet cemetary according to KC's high school friend.

  • #205
Speaking of which...where the heck did they sit when they were talking in the garage? Did they pull out some lawn chairs?

Prolly on the hood of the pontiac. Remember in LA's first statement to LE how he told them how bad the smell was and he had to keep going back into the house just to get some air. I have often thought about that statement and the actions of the people there. LE, CA, GA, KC and LA. In order to get some fresh air all they had to do was open the garage door, but they didn't. WHY?

I nearly choked on my coffee when I read this bit:laugh:

When Lee was asked what his opinion of Amy was and he says he didn't think she was someone his sister would normally be friends with. Lee is then asked why and he says "my sister doesn't tend to be friends with people that are fake"

In CA's depo she is asked about knowledge of any other pregnancies KC may have had.She mentions the "miscarriage" KC supposedly had .The idea of another child may be what the SA is after. They were either fishing or actually have knowledge of something."JMO

Just reviewing LA's interview with LE in Aug '08.End of pg 26,beginning of 27 LE asks about KC taking checks from LA and Ryan. Lee says "Uh huh".. I don't recall it mentioned again in the depo.
Can this info be used in the check fraud case?
Let's see,KC stole from CA , her Grandparents , Lee, her friend ,Ryan, and her friend ,Amy .Stealing from grandparents,Lee,Ryan and Amy all involved CHECKS.

I think Lee was decidedly odd before and after using Acne meds.
Maybe CA has set her sights on a personal injury lawsuit.

I'm so far behind. I've just begun reading Lee's depo and I immediately noticed that, unlike his parents' depos, there is no initial discussion of the immunity he would receive by given this deposition.

Recalling the line that "Lee knew what he did", I'm wondering if Lee has a special immunity deal with LE because of that.

That's a good point. He may have already copped to certain things after LE presented him with what they knew. I think LE has been more circumspect with what they believe CA and GA's involvement may have been. I notice that the discussion of immunity for CA and GA read sort of like a shot across the bow - tell the truth now and you won't be accused of perjury later. I think they both blew it by trying to anticipate what might incriminate them and give lame or vague excuses. If, after all this is over, the state would like to prosecute these two (or one) for obstruction of justice - this would have been the time to admit past deeds. Unfortunately neither did.

As I'm reading, and I'm only on page 49, I get the feeling that Lee was an outsider in his own home. He never discussed family issues such as Casey's pregnancy with his parents. It's as though he just wanted to keep apart from the family drama.

I can personally identify with the fact that he'd avoid issues with the family and go to his room and shut the door when anything arose with Casey.

I'm going to have to read more, but I have feeling that he emotionally detatched himself from the family and moved out ASAP.

This whole situation has sucked him back into the family vortex, that's for sure.

I love his line that his family is essentially an "idiocracy". It's the smartest thing that's come out of his mouth since this all started. I agree that he seems emotionally removed from all the drama. His nervous laughing makes me think he is helplessly embarrassed. I'm sure that the detachment is the only coping mechanism he has that works. I don't envy anyone trying to survive with the women in that house and their competitive malignant narcissism. It's a Catch-22 from all angles.

(p.350)
Lee: ...She was telling me about a new tip that came in, which was a psychic tip or something like that and she said, you know: It's right over here off of Element -- or, excuse me, Hidden Oaks Elementary and Dominic already checked it out. And I was, like: What do you mean, Dominic already checked it out? Well, you know, he went out there and he walked it and, you know, whatever else. And I'm going: Why the hell would you guys be following up on that? That's not Caylee being alive. Like, that one never made sense to me, so I just was, like, that's stupid.
Q Was that whole conversation before the remains of a small child were found there?
A Yes.
Q So definitely before December 11th?
A Yeah. We had it in the kitchen, but I don't remember when. It was -- I was put off from the conversation really because it was, like, why would you even waste your time on that sort of a tip when that's --
Q Looking for a deceased Caylee.
(p 351)
A Exactly. That's not where we -- that's not where we are. Like, that -- it made no sense to me. I was I was -- I think I was probably really pissed.
Q Right.
A I mean, from what I can remember, it was just like, it was so absurd to me...."

In the words of Nancy Grace, "There are NO coincidences in criminal law". The words, "He walked that area" are an admission, and very Cindy. Lee lets the truth slip out when he isn't looking. Out of all of them, I feel the saddest for him. I hope for his sake he will take his girl, move away and marry elsewhere and make a new start and keep any new babies safe from the influence of his folks.

I got the same sense cecybeans. I actually thought "well for a family that claims to be SO close there is an awful lot of not talking about alot of subjects"! I got the sense that LA was a little hurt and felt a little shut out of what was going on at any time on Hopespring. And after listening to LA's depo I don't think he and KC are as close as I thought they were. Just MO.

You know I was pretty much thinking it was LA who was talking to DC on the phone the morning he walked the woods on Suburban, but after the depo's .......I don't think it was LA anymore. MOO

BBM.

Because then the neighbors might know that they have a car that smells like a dead body and would make them look bad.

IIRC it is the woman at the airport or on a flight travelling with a child resembling Caylee. Womans name is Jean, she is from Knoxville. I do have a link to some videos she has uploaded but I won't post them here. Her myspace profile is set to private however you can watch her videos. She has a grand daughter that looks remarkably like Caylee. I think Wanda W saw this women at the airport and stated something about dogs as well (Caylee patting the dogs?) and introducing herself as Caylee Marie Antony. (spelling deliberate)

Tip phoned in by Wanda W to police and to Cindy. She has a 14 yr old and dectectives met them both at Mcdonalds to interview them. This being the same Wanda that Cindy talked about in her police/FBI interviews, can't remember which. She felt the tip was never taken seriously and discounted the fact that the flight manifest had been checked and it was determined that it was NOT Caylee on that flight. Cindy couldn't quite get her head around the fact that this woman would not inject her 14 yr old child into the case unless it was a true sighting.

I'm of the opinion that Cindy believes to this day that it was Caylee on that flight.

Wanda is not the woman who had the myspace page among the evidence from Lee's depo. I am not going to mention the woman's name in public because aside from the photo she posted she has no connection to this case as far as I can see. Someone else already mentioned her name, but she is just another innocent bystander dragged into this free for all mess. IMO she is just someone like all of us who have taken an interest in this case.

Sorry folks, I had some other info here that was incorrect so I had to delete it.

Plus wasn't it November when Tim Miller came back and asked Cindy for something of Caylee's so they could search and Cindy refused stating Caylee was still alive and she did not want him to search for a dead Caylee? If this is true, that should send up a lot of red flags. JMO

I remember that too. He wanted something with Caylee's scent to track and she would not agree. Forget red flags.....there's only ONE reason to say no.
