Sounds like sour grapes to me- and ratings envy.

ITA. It made the ex's look totally vindictive, pathetic, and as you say just voicing their sour grapes. You can say any rotten thing you want about an ex but that doesn't mean it is going to meet the standard of being admitted into a court proceeding. IMO doesn't even come close to rising to the level of admissible evidence.

Also where is the son's ragging on about RK...I couldn't find it. Pitiful attempt IMO...just pitiful. Hang in there RK...it will be proven wrong, these accusations that you had something to do with Caylee's demise. It will be proven that any every day man/woman with angry ex's in their past can find a missing person and that their past failed relationships shouldn't be held against them when they do. I can't wait for KARMA-GOD-whatever you believe to happen to these people who are trying to frame him. Shame shame shame on you!! MOO

In a way he's right...first poor Caylee was in the trunk of her mother's car.

LOL. That is what I thought. I can hear Mrs. Baden now, "Zip It". After Dr. Baden made that comment about chloroform in Caylee's hair on GR's program you would think he would stop commenting on this case.

Just trying to navigate his website makes me want to pull my hair out (or his)!

So many places to go, things to *see*, kinda like being on an exclusive spa site with all their many "services" displayed for you to "click on." *spinning head*

Being in the criminal justice system, I am still not (and probably never will be) comfortable with attorneys' marketing/advertising their "wares," if you will.

It makes me shiver ......... as do Dr., RX Meds and hospital ads. JMO

I worked for 25 years with some very respectable attorneys who were of the "old school" thought that it was a big no-no for attorneys for even advertise. They believed their reputation brought business, word of mouth and their track record....which was true. They didn't even advertise in the phone book - has anyone looked at their local phone book lately to see the tacky full page ads that attorneys now place? Usually the bigger the ad, the more of an "ambulance chaser" rep they have.

CLIPPED FROM TODAY'S CURRENT NEWS:

See July 31, 2008 Email exchange between Jose Baez and Richard Hornsby

http://www.richardhornsby.com/Library/pdf/cases/casey-anthony/20080731-Email-Exchange.pdf

Thanks for the link Kent.

The points that RH made that were followed:
The Video visitations with the family were canceled.
The A's did get their own Attorney...

Interesting, only 2 weeks into the case, and Hornsby thought a Manslaughter charge was likely on the way.

Advising JB to tell the grandmother to shut up is priceless..

Hornsby stating that Cindy and Casey have conflicting interests.hmmm.
Could it because Cindy was interested in finding Caylee and Casey was not?:waitasec:

Thanks for the link!! Looks like JB didn't listen-surprise, surprise!!:loser:

Only 2 points were followed:

The rest, well IMO JB has done a fine job making things worse for his client in the court of public opinion and continues to do so.:twocents:

Well, since we now know that Baez asks for, and receives, legal advice from Hornsby, I wonder if Baez went whining to Hornsby again, and this motion is actually Hornsby's 'brain child'. It would explain why Hornsby is having a meltdown over Schaeffer's comments regarding the motion, to the extent of taking cheap shots at WFTV such as the comment regarding Belich's personal life and Schaeffer's suspenders.

I just love that Hornsby's source of reference is Wikipedia... which he found through Google...

Hmmmm.... :waitasec:

IMO I believe that JB asked for advice and Mr Hornsby replied because he was the President of the Central Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in 2008

I don't see it as a problem for an intelligent juror who pays attention to the trial. Casey didn't report Casey missing, her mother did after discovering she was no where to be found 31 days afterward...Casey told LE that ZFG was Caylee's nanny, she had left Caylee with ZFG, and Caylee went missing...there is forensic evidence in Casey's car trunk pointing to a decomposing Caylee being in there...no one else was driving Casey's car during that time...Casey tells her friend AH that her car smelled blaming a dead rodent or something her dad must have run over...GA picks the car up from the towyard and fears the worst...Caylee is ultimately found down the street from the A's house with items that came from the house...and on and on. I'd really like to know how RK could be involved except for finding (thankfully!) Caylee's remains. :waitasec: MOO

This is what I think the defense will say:
1) Casey was distracted on the day Caylee went missing and Caylee was left unsupervised:

At 1 p.m., Anthony made a 14-minute call to her boyfriend, Tony Lazzaro. At 1:44 p.m., she made a 36-minute call to her then-best friend, Amy Huizenga. At 2:52 p.m., there was an 11-minute call with ex-fiance Jesse Grund. All of the calls used cell towers that can be reached from her parents' home, Pipitone said. http://www.clickorlando.com/news/17931576/detail.html

2) Caylee unlocked the back door and stepped out. RK may have seen her and taken her.

3) Casey realizes Caylee is missing and panics then makes flurry of calls:
Dad cell 3:03pm
Mom work 4:10
Mom Cell 4:11
Mom Cell 4:13
Mom Work 4:14
Tony 4:19
Jesse 4:21
Mom Cell 4:24

4) They will also probably contend there was no body in the trunk:

"Any suggestion there's a body in the trunk is junk science," Macaluso said. http://sendtofriend.abcnews.go.com/m/screen?id=8732077&pid=81

I am not saying it will work but I think it may be how the defense might say Kronk gained access to Caylee and at the same time minimizing the trunk evidence.

Harmony, let's hope the computer store guy's story checks out. If KC and Caylee were seen later that afternoon, right before she gets to AL's, at that WalMart in Casselberry (which is close to AL's) - then the whole RK defense theory is up in smoke.

KC would be the last person seen with Caylee very very close to when she probably was killed.

That very well could be their entire defense. But that pesky 31 days thing will probably poke a big ol' hole in that for them.

Yeah, and I doubt that "ugly coping" will cut it, no matter how much the defense makes CA look like a Cruella DeVille KC was PETRIFIED of telling.

On Fox tonight Ted Williams speaks for clients Crystal Sparks and son Brandon says prosecution has not contacted them. Dr. Baden trying to say maggot evidence shows that Caylee's body was not in woods the entire time.

It IS correct that the maggot evidence shows that Caylee's remains were where flies couldn't get at them for a period between when decomposition started but before the remains were found.

What Dr. Baden didn't talk about was the evidence (fly cases/cocoons & dead pupa found in the dirt under and around the bones) also shows that the body was dispersed on SUBURBAN BEFORE the period when the flies couldn't get to her. Which is consistent with Caylee's remains and bug remains being UNDERWATER for a time. (http://www.clickorlando.com/download/2009/1106/21539770.pdf)

The autopsy report and the entomology report go hand-in-hand and are chock full of evidence that Caylee was dumped on Suburban shortly after she died (most likely before June 27) and that while decomposing her body units were scattered by animals. Sometime after that the area was flooded.

How do we know that?

NONE of this takes it to account the plant evidence or the bug evidence.

I've got to go...but in brief to sum up what I want to say:

  • Plants couldn't start growing through and into and on the bones until AFTER the bones had been scattered and settled. According to Dr. Hall some of the roots showed 4 months of growth. (http://www.clickorlando.com/download/2009/1106/21539770.pdf)
  • Based on the development or the presense of eclosed (hatched) puparia of Diptere:Calliphoridae; Sarcophagide;Diptera: Muscidae, Fannia sp,; Diptera: Phoridae; Megaselia scalaris;; and Diptera: Stratiomyidae; Hermetia illucens recovered either from the remains at autopsy or from the scene where the remains were deposited is consistent for death and insect colonization occurring in the later portion of june 2008 and into July 2008. (FROM THE BUG REPORT:Page 24 http://www.clickorlando.com/download/2009/1106/21539770.pdf)

The notion that RK had anything to do with Caylee's disappearance is ridiculous and JB continues to harm his client's chances of ever being acquitted. Carry on JB you'll put Casey where she deserves to be. Frankly I am surprised that the Judge has not hauled JB in and told him to knock it off with the public accusations. He should not have the right to ruin innocent people's lives in pursuit of a fairy tale. Are there no standards about what an attorney can and cannot do in the US?

If one were to follow the scenario that RK took Caylee how would that account for her being buried with the blanket from her bed in a laundry bag that matches one in the house? There would have to be evidence of RK having been in the Anthony home, no such evidence exists.

JB should be concentrating on keeping his client off death row not throwing out ridiculous scenarios of some other killer. That's an insult to the jury who will hear this case.

what is RKs motive for killing Caylee?

Apparently he has used duct tape before. He can't resist a chance to use it. Rare brands in particular. Then he calls people to show them his handiwork. Makes sense to JB. Maybe he should depo anyone who ever went to Lowe's.

Seriously I think JB is banking on an alleged semi-pervy remark that RK made to a daughter (who was apparently extorting him for money) as some kind of chimo tendency. What a stretch. I think testimony from aliens would be much more credible.

I don’t agree with any personal attacks from either side of the isle. However, Hornsby does back up what he is saying with regards to the motion being reasonable and valid. After looking over Hornsby’s website it seems to me that he is not a JB supporter! If you watch some of his video links where he is interviewed by media, he slams JB.

I agree, there may be no love lost with JB, but Hornsby is the only attorney so far I've heard who thinks this is reasonable or valid. Most have said that the qualified immunity JB would get in court would be a more proper forum. And discussing this on talk shows as if it was fact, is a recipe for a civil suit against JB.

Both a FL attorney and FL judge on JVM basically said that the motion in limine was actually the reverse concept of what was requested and that it was merely covering slime in the cloak of jurisprudence.

Perhaps Hornsby, as some have suggested, is enamored with the idea because it was his own and he is defending the idea of this motion rather than the person who filed it.

(I've suggested earlier there may be professional reasons as well. Hornsby works for a CBS affiliate which competes with WFTV. CBS also produced and aired the recent 48 Hours featuring the case and favorable to the defense in many ways, and also owns the publishing company said to be in negotiation with the Anthonys on a book deal. That might affect his perspective, imo.)
