Just heartbreaking. Apart from the tears for the little girl Caylee whom he still so obviously loved, I can also hear in his voice how sad and confused he is about how he could have once thought he really knew Casey enough to want to marry her and have a family with her. I hope he doesn't have long-term trouble re: being able to trust others and to trust his own judge of character. That would also be terrible, especially for such a kind, compassionate fellow, whom any female would be lucky to have met. My heart goes out to him. :(

Well, not totally unselfish. The Today show does pay for interviews.

I thought they only paid for "licensing" of photo's and video's. Maybe I missed something. I haven't watched the entire interview but were there pictures or videos?

What a stand-up guy!

You can tell he really loved Casey and adored Caylee.I feel for him and his family.

Caylee touched SO many lives, whether they knew her or not.

isn't he supposed to be on Nancy Grace tonight? Hope I'm not starting an untrue rumor!

Thanks for the update, its truly amazing the intensity that Casey's behavior has affected so many...Jesse G hopefully after this trial will be able to be again and have a good life.

I would imagine that they believe it is Caylee, but they want to have any way possible to try to get their daughter home. If the defense can punch holes in the prosecution's case (ie-no trauma, not able to determine if chloroform killed little Caylee, etc), their daughter could get a lesser charge or can come home.

As a parent, it would be hard for me to be able to love unconditionally to a child who has left my granddaughter in the woods in a trash bag. I think they still want to believe Casey that someone else did this to Caylee.

I am sure this has already been stated but it is not their choice-Casey is next of kin and it is her decision when to release her daughter's body for burial. I think, imo, that the child has been desecrated enough and I would have hoped that Casey would let her child go-but since she is self centered, I am sure that her goal is to punch holes in the prosecution's case if at all possible. It is unrealistic to believe that a woman like Casey would behave in any other manner. This should be an interesting point to raise at trial...Casey's desire for her own defense supersedes some decency regarding her daughter's body-oh but wait, they have to find out how the nanny killed her right?

Has the ME released the body yet?

I read the attorney's interesting website and I think Jesse must have a book and/or movie deal in mind.

That was rough to watch, you could really feel his grief. Looks like she lost a really decent guy. He loved Caylee and I believe if she(kc) wasn't such a flake, they could have gotten around the fact he wasn't her bio dad. And made a life together. They were young but with some good guidance I feel they might have made it.

Yes so true..Jesse loved Caylee with a fathers heart and was willing to go ahead with marriage plans even after DNA testing proved he was not the actual father..

I just wanted to add that someone posted in reference to John Walsh on an earlier post. I also cried the whole time John spoke at the recent Pressor..Even with all the years experience in being involved with other families and helping them, John was himself overcome with emotion when discussing his child and it's been 27 years since the tradegy with his son.. With Jesse it's still very raw..I think Caylee will always be considered in his heart to be his little girl.

How do you know Caylee's grandparents haven't cried for her? Just because we don't see it plastered all over the news doesn't mean they haven't cried.

I feel terrible for the A's everything they do is analyzed under a microscope and scrutinized. I'm glad they decided to finally pull away from the media. They deserve some privacy regardless of anyones thoughts on their previous behavior.

jmo

I`m sure they have cried. If the A`s would be in the media, it would be like "OMG, how can they be in the media, I know I would be so devistated, couldn`t leave my house".

What a sweet young man---he really loved Caylee and my heart breaks for him.

I thought it was only me - why was he on the today show? Any ideas? And if anyone looked - his attorney is a Darryl Cohen http://darrylcohen.tv/
seems a bit odd to me that he has an entertainment attorney who is also an actor.

This whole case is just too odd.....

I haven't looked at his recent listings, but for what it's worth, DC practices where I am and he has spent years working as a criminal defense attorney, too, including for entertainment people.

I watched and I saw real, raw emotion. I think it made me feel better to see someone connected to Caylee that didn't try to hide from acknowledging her death. I can't explain, how as her grandparents they seem to deny any real emotion connection to what has happened. They could just be quiet and show some respect for all the people who cared about wanting justice for Caylee.
To continue to announce that they are still standing by Casey, is just disloyal. They have known and are not as shocked as we all are. I followed the story --day after day--believing all the time the evidence placed in front of me, knowing Casey Killed or disposed of her daughter, but when they identified her , it made me very sad and I thought about their actions up till the point of discovery.I believe they knew, and have been milking and mind freaking everyone just to try and save Casey.
Where is the money coming from to help her??? Why could't they contribute money for her defense in an fictitious name. Have imaginary friends , does't seem to be a problem.
"lying isn't against the law "

He probably went on the Today Show because he was asked, and they are good at playing on their guests emotions to get them on. He probably wanted to be the voice for the child who he thought of us a daughter. This is a huge story but he can let us know that this is also a very real child who touched very real lives. I think that's why he was on the show - to remind the world that Caylee impacted people and that this is not just a juicy news story, but a real life sad tragedy.
As for the cost to have his attorney fly up, no one seems to be getting this: It is likely that NO attorneys are getting paid in any way for representation of anyone in this case, with the exception of the D.A. who is getting paid to represent the state. As a lawyer myself, I can tell you that this is more publicity and name recognition than a body could drum up by any other means. That's how you get clients. Jesse needs a lawyer for many reasons, but not because he is guilty of anything or could be charged with anything. He needs one in part to make sure he does not accidentally harm the prosecution of casey in any way and so that his name remains clear in the public eye. As he said, this case has damaged his reputation through no fault of his own and he needs to make sure no more damage occurs.

This interview was heart wrenching-my heart goes out to Jesse, and his family also. For a while, he thought Caylee might be his child, and he was engaged to KC. IMO, he's as close to a "Daddy" as Caylee ever had.
All of us that frequent WS as either a frequent poster or "lurker" (which I qualify as the latter) are all invested in this also-many of us have cried many times over this sweet little girl that we never had the pleasure of knowing. Imagine how it must feel to lose this angel after being part of her life?!? I would be inconsolable with grief. I think Jesse's grief is real, and it was nice to see someone who has tried to keep the focus on Caylee, and not trying to throw anybody and everybody under the bus to save KC. I'm sure the Anthony's are grieving also, but who are the grieving for?

I agree......On both. I persoanlly hate to see the negative posts about JG. Why he was/is doing TV appearances...Can't answer that one. All I know is that he is obviously deeply hurt and grieving and I am glad that someone's face is out there showing some tears (real ones) for Caylee. He obviosly loved her as his own and probably feels a great deal of regret. The "what if's" that we are wondering about....if they HAD stayed together...how Caylee would most likely not be dead. Those thoughts alone have just got to be killing him. :(
