Why move? The state..... Her parents...... Her attorney ........... all have already held a trial in the news....... She won't get a fair trial no matter where they move her. and YES I think shes guilty.............Guilty as hell........... But I don't agree with how much has slipped out in this case..... IMO someone could ADMITT to the death of little caylee and people would STILL say noooooo wayyyyyyyy not true! Casey did it. EVEN if they had proof they did it. I just cant believe how much has leaked out in this case. I have never seen anything like it. We should not IMO have cases tried in the public eye like this case has been. JMO

Please share these leaks with the rest of the class. So far I have not seen any leaks. I have seen KC's team claim of leaks. But they haven't stated what those leaks are. They make lots of unproven claims.

Now you claim it, so I"m hoping you will solve the mystery for me.

Anthony trial may move south

On Monday afternoon, lead defense attorney Jose Baez filed the motion at the Orange County Courthouse in order to get the high profile case moved out of Central Florida to a venue in South Florida.
The decision now rests with Judge Stan Strickland of the Ninth Circuit Court.

Baez initially intended to keep the location of the trial sealed. "But after extensive research, the defense believed it should not make that request, in good faith," said Baez.
When asked if he expected a different dynamic among possible jurors in South Florida, Baez responded, "We don't believe we can avoid finding people who have not heard about this case."

Huh? What is he saying? I thought he wanted people who have not heard about the case.

When COV is granted, don't they generally go for a location with similar demographics? Seems to me Tampa or Jacksonville would be more like Orlando if that's the case. Possibly Tallahassee.

Tony P from WKMG did some research that agrees with you, and it will be the subject of his report at 11 PM tonite.

He also mentioned that Tallahassee has had less press coverage than Miami Dade, so that could be an option.

WFTV's 6 PM report on this is a MUST-SEE if they put it up. According to Kathi B, Baez timed his news conference so it would be a the top of the 5 PM newscasts, and when WFTV wouldn't show it live he got mad (I should add that WESH is the only station to show it live, and they cut it off half-way thru due to audio problems).

Kathi then tried to ask Baez ONE question afterwards, which he refused to answer and kept on walking, getting on his cell phone. The question? "How do you explain your complaints of publicity when you're the one holding news conferences all the time?"
GO KATHI! I wish she would have been the one interviewing LBK this morning.... heh
Baez also filed an affidavit from Casey herself complaining about the news coverage and pointing out WFTV specifically, such as when Kathi yelled at Casey "Did you kill Caylee?"

That affidavit is a MUST SEE!!!

Oh yeah, Kathi also said that Baez faxed the motion to several reporters even BEFORE he filed it - although she wasn't one of them of course....

Bold mine........... Unfreaking believable. Mark E. just said on HLN that Baez is as transparent as Saran Wrap, and all on the panel, including a former District Court Judge, & Pam B., are amazed at how he keeps pandering to the Media & can't keep his mouth shut.

Also noteworthy on HLN, was Jane V M. quoting LKB, saying her reasons for a COV, is that if you google KC you get 7 million hits, which ironically disproves LKB's theory, that it's not just in Orlando, but Nationwide:clap::clap::clap: Oh, that was the best, JVM

Let me see if I understand this:

J.B. filed a motion for a change of venue because he believes that all the publicity will hurt his client’s chances of a fair trail.

J.B calls press conferences and gives national TV interviews that stir up publicity

Thus:

J.B knowingly and willfully acts in a manner that he believes will hurt his client’s chance for a fair trail.

Is that illegal, or is it just all against ethical standards?

My parents live in Okaloosa County and they called me at work here in Orlando as soon as Fox news reported that a child's body was found near Hopespring. It was how I found out. It isn't covered up in the panhandle like it is here, but they watch cable news like most people. I don't really think it will make much difference where this trial is held. She is GUILTY and anyone with half a brain will be able to figure that out at trial.

I don't think a change of venue will do a dang bit of good.
But, let Baez do what Baez does best. :D

I think it would all depend on where it get's moved to. There ARE some interesting money ties & ties who can influence, in certain parts of Florida. I however trust the judge is one smart man. If *I* know who & where these players are, I am sure he does to.

I don't agree with the sunshine law and I don't apperciate the eye rolling. IMO I have never seen a case get this much spot light people are IMO turning it into a circus.... Not only the state her attorney but her parents as well.

I heart Kathi Belich

Also, apparently, a DP trial is too expensive in JB's eyes but a change of venue isn't...typical

I heart Kathi Belich too. I started watching WFTV exclusively many months ago when the A family were being so hateful to her. I figured she wasn't afraid to do serious reporting and that really got to them as they couldn't control her.

It's neither illegal nor unethical. t's just our laws.

Really? The State Attorney? I've been following this case since "day 31" and haven't heard a peep from the SA's office. I'd love to be informed of what you're referring to.

Umm.........didn't Baez fight the gag order way back when? I'm confused again.

Yes, I believe he did. As Kathi B. said tonight, "He wants to get press time, as long as he likes what's being reported.:boohoo:

Okay, if a change of venue is granted- I understand that KC will be put in a much larger jail-

Since it was not the prosecution who wants the change of venue- then does KC go into general population? She is only in a protective cell as the proscecution has to keep her safe until trial. So does the defense then have to take responsibility for her safety?

I have a feeling him fighting that gag order is going to come back to bite him now that he wants a COV. I also don't think his presser and LKB's perfomance today are going to help either.

I don't think so but it sure would be nice!

She is under the protection of the State. They have to keep her safe, they can't trust that to an outside party because if something happened they would be responsible.

(I think that's how I remember it)

I don't think it's required but I do think it will be granted. I also don't think it will matter much. casey's going down.
