2010.02.16 Document Release: Stain on Trunk Liner

head 2.png

Sorry I don't know how to post all 3 at once.

Does this help? I apologize for the shaky writing. The light brown area looks like hair to me and the dark red skin. In this picture the area where her mouth would be does not show up because as Pip pointed out that area was taped. The band across the top of her head could be tape or the top of the laundry bag I guess.View attachment 14336

So would the dark purple area under the nose be duct tape?

This should be the left side of her face, though, so the ear and the mouth should be the other way around.

Could you label it for me? Once I get an image in my head it's difficult for me to see it another way. ( I need drawings for dummies)

Well, that's the thing, I can't see it at all, except for the mouth area being blanked out.

I need someone to explain to me why she is one her left side. I keep seeing her on the right. Are these images taken from the top (carpeted side) of the trunk liner or the underneath side? TIA

They are taken from the top. So since the knees go off to the right, she must have been lying on her left side.

The images are taken from the top, so she is lying just as you see the image, chest and abdomen down, slightly left-lying, legs bent and to the left under her. Can anyone explain that better? It's hard to describe in words.

The way we are looking at the pictures her body appears to be lined up with the driver's side of the car trunk (left) body on left side. But the picture of her head appears to be facing left also when it should be facing right (into the trunk area, not the left trunk wall) if she were lying on her left side.

We got that one it's the head picture that we are trying to figure out. Her head appears to be facing the lefthanded trunk wall, whereas if it were aligned with the body it would be facing right. So was the picture transposed?

Oh dear, I can hear everyone's mind clicking so maybe we should try and find out more about these pictures.

Ok I think I finally get it. I thought I read a long time ago that JWG took the images from the underside of the carpet. That would make the image I photoshoped on the wrong side. TY

No, the picture is facing the right way--you can tell because in the original LE series of photos, those photos are preceded by the ones showing the trunk liner with the lights on and the blue forensic light shining on that spot. Then they turned the lights off and took pictures of just what the forensic light showed. But the spotlight is still in the same position.

We don't all agree on how she was lying lol. If you go with the "butt in the air" hip=knee interpretation, her head could be tilted the other direction entirely (resting on the opposing cheek).

I wonder if dd2 would let me paint her face in something bright and then have her lay down and make a cheek print for me... gaaah that's morbid.

Taken from the top side... she was laying on her left side in the trunk with her back against the back seats. Does that make sense? :waitasec:

KC is right handed so if she lifted/hoisted bags into the trunk by the handles, likely she would have grabbed the handles in her right hand, supported the bottom of the bags if at all with her left, and Caylee would/might have ended up in the trunk with her head toward the passenger-side fenders and her back against the rear side of the back seat... IMO....

(ETA: and to weigh in a little late on this one, I think the letter AZ was seeing imprinted in the stain might have been the "G" in "Big", if the t-shirt shifted due to movement in the bags... FWIW...)

Actually, if she has her left side of her face down, she would be facing passenger side of car so the tape would be seen in that picture from right edge to center, not left to center... kwim?

How does that explain her head facing the opposite way of the body?
