I just finished reading this entire thread and I gotta say WAY TO GO MR. HORNSBY!!!!

A HUGE thanks to The World According for posting the "play by play" commentary!

I think RH just handed Jose Baez his own a$$ on a platter! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Just curious.....who could ask for the sealed information to be released?

  • #163
I hope someone in the local media will do as Mr. Hornsby suggested and request that portion of the hearing be unsealed. It went rather quickly if I remember correctly. Remember the zip it comment from Jose to Cindy , in her state depo when she was being asked what she observed Casey taking out of the home to Baez's office? Mr. Ashton chimed in; because Mr. Baez didn't seem to understand the rules regarding objecting. Mr. Ashton explained to Mrs. Anthony that they were not asking her for what purpose, just what indeed she observed Casey taking to Mr. Baez. All hell broke loose. Andrea on skype, Jose wanted to go off the record ;because, he said everyone knew they were getting into an area that has been sealed by the judge. I can only infer that what was in front of Cindy was a photo of a photo album or videos.
So at the hearing, I think they all went back into the side room, the judge asked where the money came from and Casey gave the quick answer that she sold a photo album, it is a one time deal, there is no future deal and no conflict. Period. That is just my guess. I recall the judge saying if there is a conflict she can either waive it or say she wants a new lawyer. I also recall her affidavit saying that Mr. Baez has no rights to sell her "story" and Mr. Ashton wanting that word expanded to include photos and videos.

Her parents testified in their depositions that indeed they were not paid these fees.

I went back and listened to Rozzie again. She could be mistaken, and certainly mistaken about the name of the place, of course, but she is clearly saying it is not the night he went to Dragon room and was not able to find her. She says on this night he did find her, "She was drunk and partying". Then three more weeks went by before the police were called.

I don't know how to use the quote feature but this is from The World According. Since this is the first that we have heard of this, could this be around the same time George got the gas cans from KC's trunk. Perhaps there was a certain smell that forced the family to check on Caylee. The timing would be about right (just guessing without having exact dates) and why would you expect to find Caylee at a bar. Unless confirming KC was there, not working and no Caylee. This could be some interesting info.

This is the section where the judge speaks directly to Casey, she is under oath.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lkz57L8ekA[/ame]
The judge asked her every which way but Sunday if any deals exist, whatsoever and she said no, under oath. Mr. Ashton and Mr. Baez get scolded by the judge. He tells them " You know what? This is getting old. I am getting tired of it, and we are done!"

That is Sierra , who taped this, narrating at the end.

That's what I thought!

So I am not understanding why there is so much OOOooooooohhhh and speculation about how in the world KC could have paid Baez $88,000 when she had no money when she was arrested, and has been in jail ever since.

I don't think this hearing is going to be that explosive. I think the Anthonys may have sold out Caylee to try and buy out KC....

Now the $88,000.....I think Baez is going to have some 'splainin to do on how and what he spent his greenbacks on!

What would be explosive is if JB made the deal and left the A's out of it. Even if he did it on behalf of KC I think from an ethical stand pointe it was the wrong thing to do. As RH said JB should have hired antoher attorney to broker any financial deals.

I think I figured out how to use the quote feature!:woohoo:

Listening to these are quite interesting. Lee is right up there with George and Cindy. Lie after lie.

Update; I just tried to read through Lee's depo with the state and I find nothing in there along the lines of what Rozzie reported tonight. I could have missed it, but I do not see that in there that he indeed located her and she was "drunk and partying". Perhaps it is in a LE interview that was not released in full.

Unrelated

The media arrangement may not have been with mom and pop; because, they were posed so many questions about that in their state depos and the figure they came up with was only ten or twenty grand, they claimed some went to taxes, some went to Brad an they wound up with about five thousand, they used it to catch up some late car payments and bills ( definitely not two hundred thousand or more ). Of course as we very well know they are not above lying or deeming a question illegitimate if they do not find it relevant ( and in that case the answer is what the other guy deserves for having the unmitigated gall to have asked.) I had asked a long time ago if an employee or PR person signed the deal for them while they worked for him would he be in trouble for splitting hairs, Clinton style, for telling the judge "he" didn't have a media deal. I do hope the judge gets to the bottom of it. If they lied under oath then or ever, I hope they are held accountable, so far they sure do think they are above the rules.

I Wasn't this the time that Casey claimed to have been in another city, Jacksonville , or somewhere, and en route home Zanny had an accident, was hospitalized, where the triage nurse, and all the doctors and nurses that tended to her the first three days discovered they had missed a laceration on her head or some big ole bag of b. s. ?

. What date was Cindy's diary of days written?

........thank you SO much for taking notes on the call! excellent!

..it was june 24th that kc ( loyal pal that she is ) came home from the tampa hospital to orlando, to pick up (imagi)zanny's ins. papers.

..( same day as "the gas can incident" actually.)

..july 2nd-------kc wrote her "diary of days".

..july 3rd------cindy wrote her "my caylee is missing", and sent lee out on a recon mission...

(..same day------kc got her "bella vita" tattoo)

... The "sealed" hearing I was referring to was the March 24 hearing where Baez, the Judge and the prosecution went behind closed doors with a court reporter.

That needs to be unsealed.

---respectfully snipped

You're darn straight, Mr. Hornsby. I have the utmost admiration for Judge Strickland and, though my curious self was disappointed in his decision to seal that hearing, I respected and trusted his decision. Judge Strickland has never given me any reason to doubt his integrity or to believe that he would do anything other than rule fairly according to the law. However, IMHO, claiming indigency status changes everything in re. public's right to know how her defense has been funded to date (insert any Anthony first initial - they're all broke) and how that money has been spent (frivilously? unethically?). KC is basically requesting that Floridia taxpayers give her a 'grant' to pay for her 'professor' of choice without any accountablity. Lord have mercy....that girl has been allowed to dodge responsibility her entire life (sans the lesser-of-all-evils check fraud plea <cough>). Please tell me the State of Florida will rise to the occassion and put an end to the insanity.

That was fast Laurie!!!! Thank you. OK, so if she left on the 15th, and mom sends Lee out looking for her about a week after , and the gas can incident is in there...yes it may be a concern that the cans smelled in a way that would alarm mom and pop.Rozzie could be mistaken about the time frame she is speaking of.

..i'm also very curious as to the kc is indigent hearing this week.

in this article:
http://tinyurl.com/y9lu5sl

"How Anthony, 23, can afford to pay for her defense is a topic of much debate. She had no assets when she was arrested on check-fraud charges in 2008."

"Anthony recently signed affidavits indicating fees of $89,454.83 and $22,500 have been paid or will be paid to defense attorneys Jose Baez and Andrea Lyon, respectively."

"Because of those claims, "the JAC has severe concerns regarding the Defendant's indigency," JAC assistant general counsel Christian D. Lake wrote in his filing."

"Lake also wrote that state laws require the court to consider WHEN Anthony retained private counsel, the amount of any attorney's fees and WHO is paying the fees."

-------------on the day of her 1st court hearing, she claimed to be indigent, and said "yes sir" to a public defender.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JS-qSflO43c[/ame]

..then----2 seconds later , had baez. ( he couldn't have been the court appointed "free" lawyer-----or she wouldn't have paid him $89,000.00)

..i am hoping that at the hearing---------we find out how this went down ?

TWA...

..in everything i've ever seen about this case------i only see cindy sending lee out on july 3rd. ( the same day cindy went to universal herself to pick up caylee---------then--shock---kc told her that they, umm, weren't actually there.)

..this was during the week that cindy had off-----and she wanted to spend time with caylee, but kc kept giving her the non stop run around.

..after the blow off at universal, cindy enlisted lee----( super sleuth that he is-----through my space, he immed. saw that she would be at "the dragon room " that night for a friend's birthday ( party of some sort.)

..but------he failed to "sneak up on her" ( by calling her friends and telling them he was looking for her !) recon mission=huge failure.

..i agree-------cindy's 911 call was GENUINE------yes, she may have KNOWN kc was the usual lying bit*h that she's always been--------but to now have caylee MISSING???? ( and then---once the shock wears off a bit------OMG----caylee was the source of the smell in the car ?????)

..to quote YOU--------" you just can't make this stuff up !!"

..where this story will go from here-------who on god's earth knows-------esp. now with the "george sideshow" factored in.......

..the hearing this week-------will they or won't they ? ( cindy and george arrive together ?)

You Just Can't Make This Stuff Up!
At the hearing this week will be hearing the TES motions too? I like this judge, he lets everyone know from minute one the tone for the day.
When someone wants to continue past the argument he wants to hear he says you have got about five minutes to wrap this up,
if they persist ..Judge I will be brief, he assures them..I'll help you do that!
Whenever the defense wants to bring some imagined offense to the judge's attention and they begin ... I feel I must...he just simply and politely says, no..there is no need. Just don't.
I just laugh myself silly. Every once in a while he will look a little puzzled at Mr. Baez and ask if he is still arguing on something he already finished ruling on.
It reminds me of a dad telling a child, no means no, this isn't a democracy, you're the kid and I'm your father, and as long as you live in my house, you will live by my rules. Why? Because I said so!
If I had a dollar for every time I heard that growing up, I could take us all on a tropical vacation, somewhere truly wonderful! The thing is I learned and I grew up, Mr. Baez my father would have mopped the floor with!
My favorite thing this judge said was that he normally likes to "Rule and Roll". Dad would have loved this guy!!!

I know from first hand knowledge as a drunk... I mean respected attorney, that the lodge is not the dragon room.

The Dragon Room is where people who look like the cast of Jersey Shore hang out.

The Lodge is where the membership of your local preppy Frat House hang out.

Dragon Room is on Church Street, The Lodge is on Orange. Across the street from Tabu - a club owned by Mark Nejame.

Bold is mine.. Now that, i liked!

You guys keep teasing me, but that really is going to be the title of my book.

You Just Can't Make This Stuff Up!
At the hearing this week will be hearing the TES motions too?

The title to my book is going to be "Blogger's Unite: No Half-Truths or Mis-Truths included."

Cindy Anthony was my inspiration for this title.

I have always candidly admitted that I do this for the obvious marketing advantages it provides (lawyer speak for "Free Publicity"). The big difference is that I do not play favorites, nor do I misstate information (at least I try not to), nor do I hide any agenda I may have.

As for Rozzie's statements about Lee, she is referring to a statement Lee Anthony supposedly gave to law enforcement pursuant to a grant of use immunity that his lawyer negotiated. I do not believe this "statement" has been released yet.

If I understood her correctly, she was implying that Lee had confronted Casey a week after Caylee was last seen; thus the family had known for at least three weeks that Caylee was missing. Which would explain why Cindy told Casey "we have given you over a month" to find Caylee.

Hey Richard, bout time you came back! We have missed you. :)

Good to see you have started blogging again as well.

Last nights discussion on blogtalk radio was one of the best interviews I have heard on this case in a long time, thank you so very much. For me you seem to cut away the media hype and BS and lay out the the bare bones of the issues for us all to see.

Don't be a stranger and come back soon.
