ps-also the fact that they have a time to finish today makes me think they have found enough evidence...

When quoting "the tip didn't come from TN", does that mean Tennessee or Teresa Neves? :waitasec: Thanks!
sorry... was typing and listening LOL... tennessee

If they have a POI why can't they tell who that is? Or do they normally not tell who the POI is untill after the arrest.
When RC left sherriff office the other day he was the only one who did not seem visably upset, still wearing the smirk. IMO

calling it a homicide
jo has lawyered up

Knew it - he's my prime suspect. I'm suprised they're calling it a homicide now? I think the majority of us figured that out 14 months ago. I just pray they find the perp who did this and haleigh can be brought home for a proper burial. And if Misty, Tommy, or Ron are talking, I hope the DA doesn't give them any deals.

Said that Misty was starting to realize that she was in trouble.

And when asked if there's been a change in her demeanor, he said "absolutely"

It sounds like Misty has finally talked!

I cannot imagine what Hardy and his staff have had to deal with all these months. I have the utmost respect and well just God Bless them and the divers and I am shaking as I type this. I never knew it would hurt so badly to hear what I already believed.

Sheriff: 'Haleigh Likely Deceased'
Sheriff's Office Has Identified Persons Of Interest

UPDATED: 4:11 pm EDT April 15, 2010

Sheriff Jeff Hardy announced Thursday afternoon that new information in the search for Haleigh Cummings has lead investigators to believe the missing girl is dead.

Hardy said crews have been searching the St. Johns River, for three days. He said the crews have obtained items, but it is not known if they are related to the investigation.

Hardy said the search was prompted by new information obtained from interviews, but he declined to name anyone specifically.

Hardy said although no one is in custody related to Haleigh's disappearance, investigators have honed in on persons of interest.

The case is now being investigated as a homicide, Hardy said.

Hardy said investigators will conclude the river search on Thursday, but that does not mean they are abandoning the investigation into the newly obtained information.

did he mean search over for today - or 'over' as in finished, done, finito, packing up & moving outta there?

If he meant 'complete', they must have found what they were looking for.

They are moving out of there today. They will continue to follow where lead takes them.

I got the impression they will go back to that area if they need to, idk.

After hearing the Sheriff say that Joe has lawyered up, I am having a hard time ruling him out of the crime.

Innocent or guilty, he'd be CRAZY not to.
MOO and stuff.

thanks for posting the presser!

If he is saying that the river is the crime scene, and they have found articles of interest, but no remains...then why are they wrapping up the river search? Or did they mean wrapping up the river search just for today?
He didn't say they found no remains. He said they had found many small articles of interest, they were examined by an anthropologist and sent off to the lab for analysis.

That sounds very much like bones an anthropologist identified as human. :(

It also fits with his saying he believed little Haleigh died there. I don't think he would say that without some physical evidence.

imhoo this presser was very informative.

1) it is now a homicide
2) she most likely died at the area they were searching
3) people in the case are talking
4) misty is in trouble and knows it
5) items were found at the scene and are being analyzed
6) they are building a case and hope to make an arrest
7) they now have several persons of interest
8) people behind bars related to this case have had lots of time to 'think'

thanks.......the thing that got to me is #2.........died in the area!!!!
IMO I always assumed Haleigh died at home................

search divers end at 6pm

Hmmm... the Sheriff said they went down to TN to talk to Joe Overstreet and he has "lawyered up." His demeanor when he said that made me feel like he believes Joe is involved. IMO.

I'm :furious: all over again that so many people knew what happened to that little girl & said NOTHING for so long!

Putting those who loved her thru all this long drawn out misery just wondering what happened to their little angel. :(

Since they are saying they think the river is the crime scene then I am wondering if they just threw Haleigh in there and let her drown. The thought of it is really upsetting to me. :(

I am usually just a lurker around these parts, but Willie Fan you typed what I was thinking, oh my god I am sitting at my desk just balling my eyes out, and need friends like you guy's around, the Sheriff while talking was truely breaking my heart also he looked so very I don't know hurt I guess. I was always so sure that Haleigh died in the MH got a hold of pills and OD'd. I hoped and prayed that it was just painless and she fell asleep. Now to hear this that they think she died at the River, How? WHY??? .............. Oh my just WHY??????

Oh God I have no more words just a thousand tears.....God Bless that precious Baby.....just god bless.

Also I am hoping that we I get to see playback on the Prsser on JVM or NG I missed, Did the Sheriff say that she was in something??????

I think they found bones, and I think they have a confession from a witness.
