2010.04.15 Presser Video: Sheriff, Haleigh Likely Dead; POI Identified

  • #341
moo.... The Sheriff wouldn't have been so emotional unless they have received corroberated information and physical evidence. He wouldn't have "choked up" just because MC threw out some new bs story.

and he sure choked up saying the word HOMICIDE.

i think it could he hard to prove cause of death though, if they only have some bones...

The search location is so close to the home of MC's parents, Hank and Lisa, and I think he was in the hospital at the time of Haleigh's disappearance.

Could MC and others have gone to the Croslin home to party, knowing the parents weren't at home, taking Haleigh and junior with them? That would explain why Haleigh died in that area.

I dont think they had a party there, but maybe. I think that if JO did take Haleigh from the MH, he left in the van, and possibly took her to Hank and Lisa's to do God knows what....maybe even killed her there.

Didnt Hank and Lisa move out of there shortly afterwards? Why? Was that location ever searched? And where is the van now? Was it impounded for evidence?

The sheriff said they had an anthropologist on scene sorting the stuff to be sent to labs and stuff was sent to labs. An anthropologist would know the difference between human and animal bone and teeth.

They found human stuff.

Not necessarily - especially with the bones of small children, this can be a difficult task depending on how much (or how little) material there is, and whether its been broken up, etc. It might be that the material is possibly animal, but the anth on site didn't want to take the chance and wanted to run it through the tests or computer analysis. (Not speaking specifically to this case/event, but generally, sending material to the lab is common and not indicative of a clear human find, even with a foranth on site. MOO.)

Do you or anyone else find that odd?:waitasec:

I did find that odd. Even her lawyer was not there on the pier with her and that IS very strange.

Maybe her mind is clearing from the drugs...and she is starting to "feel"

I don't know, but I keep going over the latest phone calls TC had with LC and his Dad and over and over TC stating that he is not going to lie just to get out of jail and put his cousin in jail over something that he did not do.:waitasec:

I pray whoever threw Haleigh's body in that lake put her in a box, and they are able to find some body tissue.

BBM:You might be onto something leila... I've never thought of that scenario...

I'm wondering about Haleigh's necklace... I can't remember what the situation was with that.

Was it missing? Or was it found in the bedroom when she should have been wearing it?

Very early on Hardy said they had information that Misty was not at the home. Now one has to think about Joe Pytko (sp). He is the one who signed an affidavit that there was a party, Haleigh got into some drugs and died and was placed in a pond. Maybe he was so messed up he didn't realize they were partying on the St. Johns itself. I agree with you, none of them were at the mobile home and whatever happened to Haleigh did not happen at the home. LE has had that evidence, whatever evidence from the van, whatever evidence from Joe's clothes and the car he was going to be riding back to TN in. LE has always stated they had no reason to believe Haleigh was dead - even up to a few months ago. This tells, IMO, a story too. Haleigh did not die at the home and she was not even kidnapped from the home. The whole propped door thing was bs. Misty has known all along what happened. IMO she is still denying any culpability but equally so IMO she is responsible.

Today's press conference clearly shows the whole kidnapping story - back door propped open with a cinder block - was a cover-up for what really happened. Misty had to be involved in that cover-up, and I think RC was too.

Joe Pytko gave an affidavit right? I had forgotten about that. I need to go back and have a look again at that whole scenario. Thanks for reminding me.

If Haleigh was put into the water to be disposed of, maybe the perp(s) originally tried placing her in the water close to home?

That could explain the mystery of the dogs following her scent out the back of the trailer and toward the water?

Realizing the implications, "they" rethought their plan and decided to put her further away (still going with water) just moving to another location that "they" still felt comfortable with... I dunno, just a thought...

I'm hoping we can start wittling away the little mysteries in this case that have led to 14 months of freedom for a bunch of half-wits.

To say Homicide, they must have some physical evidence.
What a sad day!! Bless little Haleigh.
(is this the day both Haleigh & Gabriel will be found??)

I keep thinking how RC came out of that meeting after hearing what we just heard.

That smug look on his face.

No falling down, no crying.

I wonder if we'll get to see his reaction when they were told. And the other family members, for that matter . . . .

When we saw him coming out of the meeting, I didn't see emotion from him. Not his usual smug smirk or glaring eyes. Now, knowing what we know was said, I'm thinking he had a look of guilt. Even if he wasn't directly involved, he knew something and now everyone in his family knows it. I wonder how CS reacted towards him.

This might depend on which bones. If they have, sadly, recovered skeletal remains, I do hope they are bones that show significant evidence - or at least enough for a valid theory.

SBM

Is this the spot where he was reputed to "feed the 'gators?" I too remember reading that JO did this; has it been confirmed? Aren't cruelty to animals and a morbid fascination with murder/death on the list of the warning signs of a potential killer?

YES it is one of the signs

Sheriff Hardy is close to breaking down during this presser. When he says it's a homicide case his voice cracks. I feel for these LE that have been trying so hard for a year to find this little girl. This is going to affect them all for the rest of their lives and careers. :prayer:

I have to wonder having had some experience with the world of pain killers, if having to go through withdrawl and ultimately sobriety if the gravity of what they have done is now coming forward. I guess I would like to believe that without the aid of a mind and pain numbing substance that they have realized and are starting to talk.

I guess I might me humanizing a little, not sure though if some of this family has that capacity though. :furious:

Hardy appears to be getting precious little ZZZZs; hope the sleep of the POIs has been seriously disturbed. Of course, with this crew, the peaceful sleep of the ignorant may apply.
