shoemaker: as soon as Misty lookin at lengthy prison sentence, she points the finger at someone else

Shoemaker said that? Are you sure it wasn't JO's lawyer?

If it was Shoemaker, I'll be udderly befused and confuddled...

ETA: Now I see another poster quoting this as coming from Shoe, so it must have been him. Color me surprised. It works as a preemptive measure to protect Ron, but it doesn't match what I thought about Shoe and Ron wanting to placate Misty with the "disappointment" thing...

OT - My (now) middle daughter passed away in 11/03. She was 11 months old. The funeral home was very gracious in offering me free services (though I did have to pay for things like a more up-scale casket than they were offering). I definitely think in light of the situation, Crystal would be offered something similar. JMO

Hugs to you.....I lost a child also.....I am so sorry for your loss.

*shrug* I kinda like JO's lawyer. He's an officer of the court. :D

Now I know why they aren't talking about the cotton rope missing. Their source is saying it was yellow rope.

HOLLARS: What I was told by Misty was that Tommy and Joe took Haleigh and wrapped a yellow rope around her and carried her to the dock and put -- tied a brick around the bottom of -- or the other end of the rope and throwed her into the river.

Grandmaj: do we remember the search @ 116 Tyler that happened upon Tommy's arrest? (the collective scantastic we, that is...)

Yes I remember. The reason I brought the rope up though is because Art is reporting it was last Thursday that she gave permission to go for the rope. And my immediate Oh NO was because Christee found that Quit Claim Deed and I knew she wasn't living there. Was there something else you were inquiring about,,,,, or the rope?

Yes he did. Sounds like he knows where another finger is being pointed.

TERRY SHOEMAKER, ATTORNEY FOR RONALD CUMMINGS, HALEIGH`S FATHER, JUST MET WITH RON IN JAIL: Well, absolutely. I mean, you know that Misty hasn`t been forthright right from the beginning of this whole case and as soon as she gets in trouble and as soon as she`s looking at -- you know a lengthy period of prison she starts pointing the finger at everybody she can. Except for herself.

Caller believes Haleigh OD at home, wants to know if Ron talked to Misty that evening. NG is remindeding us people tried to call her and she didn't answer the phone. AH saying Ron tried to call MC 90 times that night.

Sorry way behind tonight :)

BBM above...he tried to call her 90 times but decided he would stop for cigs and peanuts on his way home from work :waitasec: Pffffttttt... :snooty:

Thank you, Dr. After I posted that, I saw Panthera quote him too, so just finished editing my post.

And yeah, it works as a preemptive measure to discredit her pointing at Ron. It just doesn't match what I thought about Shoe and Ron wanting to placate Misty with that "disappointment" thing.

Sheesh, I'm going to lose all my marbles trying to figure all these people out!

Sure seems like these guys were throwing alot of things in the river. Ron, Joe and Tommy. Dang Timmy missed out on all the fun.

HARRIS: Nancy, I can tell you that they have been dredging that river through the silt, through the mud, with that giant tub we`ve seen, the white and blue tub, and they`ve been transporting that and having it analyzed.

They`ve been looking for a piece of a skeleton -- skeletal remains. They have been told that deer carcasses were dumped in the river by Joe and Tommy, and they have actually found deer bones in another location where they used to go. And they found deer bones here.

What I said was that I visited a nearby dock, closer to the trailer, with Ronald. That’s where he went with Joe he said, to toss deer carcasses that he said Joe enjoyed watching alligators devour. this dock is down the road…the first dock has also been searched, along with waters around it. Divers found deer bones, but not human bones. Tommy had just gone deer hunting btw. art

You are 100% correct. At most the attorney could do was to confirm there are sealed juvie records, but to discuss the contents, he would need the courts permission.

I am very surprised, shocked really, that two attorneys on a program with such a large amount of viewers on an evening like tonight would not check the TN law before dispensing misinformation!

NG and the defense attorney on her show stated that the courts, DA, and Police CANNOT divulge juvenile records, but both insisted to JOs attorney that nothing bars a client (JO) from giving permission to his attorney to discuss his juvenile record if the client wishes. Two attorneys (Grace and the Criminal Defense Atty on her show) stated/confirmed that the juvenile "can allow his attorney to discuss his record or give his attorney permission to discuss it." They stated that the courts, DA, and Police CANNOT divulge juvenile records...

Actually I agree with you, however...the lawyer would have to have the client's prior consent so as not to breach Att/Client privilege. Too bad everyone gets cut-off due to time schedules.:silenced: I know that seems testy, but on these shows people are cut-off & not given the proper time to respond, sometime great questions aren't answered & the viewers suffer as a result. I "know".

Too much Down by the River talk by too many of the players. Wondering whether or not the animal blood stains in van (?) were new or old, and how this may tie in, if at all. Perhaps, my imagination is running wild.

About the deer carcass- did anyone ever say WHEN they had thrown the deer carcass in the river? Was it supposed to have been when whoever had thrown the body in the river or just at some point people had thrown deer carcasses in the river? Did they say they had killed the deer themselves, or picked up a dead one by the road or what? In cold weather it's not unusual for people to clip the on the edges of highways and whatnot.

Does the killing of a deer really matter?

I really didn't notice the deer comment til I read it here- the fact that Grandma had almost no emotion at all when talking about her grandchildren possibly commiting the murder of a little girl had me floored.

I have yet to see any video of Misty pointing at the river, I have only seen her getting grilled........

IIRC, NG producer NL was the one who told NG about MC pointing.

Txangel- I think that story was a cover, I'm sure someone has thrown carcasses in the river... I saw some where deer bones were indeed recovered from the river (but not at the location diver's recently searched...)

but there was no alligator entertainment at that time... (if that is what was said by Tommy or Ron at the time about JO. at least not on that visit to Florida... MOO

That deer blood was brought out in the beginning of this case, but nobody talked about it much back then. There were several suppose sightings of Haleigh. One lady on one of the blogs stated that she saw a lady come into her doctor's office up in MA with 2 children and the little girl looked like Haleigh and supposibly she and her husband followed the woman and man when then came in another time with the little girl to the doctor's office to a home that belong to Amber Brook's father and that the man living there was Amber Brook's brother who was married to Joe Overstreet's sister. I don't know what ever came of that one sighting. I have to say that NG is wrong about Joe's attorny devulging information about sealed records in TN. That would be against the law in TN. I think NG loves to just get into these attorney just for the sport of it.

exactly, IMO. There are juvie seals and then there are ways to get the info...some branches of the military will check and you can bet your bippy that if LE is seriously looking at Joe O, they already know IMO. But I think his attorney seemed pretty strong. JMO

I think JO's lawyer fell in to NG's hands I beet $ JO has a juvie sex record or his lawyer would have said no he dosen't he could have said that much IMO

That's an understandable assumption, but then again, this lawyer also has to consider that his job has and will extend beyond this client, and for him to set a precedent that "I'll let people know if my client has no record" would be very unwise, KWIM?

That property has been cleaned and looks freshly painted. It is for sale. Any rope hanging around there would be long gone.

I saw a PIC the other day. It is a multiple listing but most don't show any pictures. I found one but it did not show the inside. Surprised it is only a 2 bdrm.
