Climbing on the fence for GGMS:

Wasn't GGMS the first to bring up the fact that she & TN went & searched as soon as they caught wind of search location from various sources?

Why would GGMS bring this up on national TV herself, if she had any guilty feelings about walking the area looking for Haleigh?

ugh, perhaps I'm not remembering that correctly...

GGMa Sykes said they went searching after GMa Hollars called her Monday morning. - not various sources.

SYKES: Yes, she did. Ms. Hollars called me and told me -- she certainly did -- that she had called down here and told them what Tommy had told her. And Teresa and I went and -- over to that area and walked around all afternoon and looked in the woods over there. But of course, we didn`t find anything.

In my honest opinion, Granny H bullied Granny S into that statement. Granny S had NO choice, but to admit it...

It is obvious granny H thinks it was "hinky" that they went down there...Granny H wanted to world to know... she acomplished her goal...

Go Grany H, Go...tell everything you know and everything you heard...some of it might be very important!!

TY. raisin. that's right.

Still, GGMAS volunteered the story of TN & herself searching first. (See Blue by me) "But of course we didn't find anything." Doe she just feel entitled and obligated to run to wherever her granddaughter is rumored to have been found - to prove to herself that Haleigh's still alive?

"GRACE: Ms. Sykes, what do you think of them searching -- the police searching the St. John`s River?

SYKES: Well, evidently, they had some tip. Somebody called them. And they were down there searching. And I went down there early that morning and didn`t -- you know, they wouldn`t tell me anything. And I wasn`t -- I knew what they were searching -- you know, I knew they were looking for something participating (SIC) to Haleigh, but I didn`t really know what.

HOLLARS: I was the one that called you and told you that.

Green by me.
I also bolded in green some curious back & forth up there between Hollars & Sykes.

I gotta say, that green stuff looks just a little bit like Sykes helping Hollars put it out there one more time that Hollars was the tipster and should get that reward. I mean, Sykes brought it up (that she got a heads up on the search). Maybe Hollars asked her to get that in there. Then, Sykes rambled, and Hollars reminded Sykes she wanted credit for giving Sykes the "tip".

These ladies are certainly friendly. I might even suggest that Flo & Annette got even friendlier when Misty went to stay with Hollars for a bit. I can see GGMS checking in on Misty during her Tennessee holiday, and chatting cordially with Flo...

:cow: I dunnno. I was suprised they even showed up on the same show together. Why aren't either of them really upset about the other's lose grandkid? Maybe THAT's the bond.

there are 2 things that really "got out" in that show.

1. That Teresa and Granny S were searching the intended search area.

Granny S starts rambling about it...stopping in mid-sentence...I think this was pure guilty about something.. has nothing to do with granny H...

I think when she says "they" got a tip from someone... it is not that she was hiding nothing.. as her mind frame it is "they" against "we" .. Croslin/Cummings

2. That Teresa WAS asked to babysit that day/evening.

Everything else was just whay granny H heard form Misty.. which we already knew about..

Interesting!
She called down her and told "THEM" .....

I'm bumping this thread because we just learned from Levi's show, GMHollars admit that Misty is the one who told her to call GMS/TN about the search area.

I wonder why Misty felt the need to relay that information back to the Cummings?

There is a reason why...There has to be.

If Misty/Croslins were to blame for whatever happened to Haleigh, why would Misty want the Cummings to know they were going to be searching for a dead Haleigh down on the river?

After GMHollars gets this information to the Cummings:

The Cummings go to the search area
They look around all afternoon
They were told to leave by LE
This area becomes known as the "crime scene"
This is now a HOMOCIDE
We now have MULTIPLE persons of interest

If you think about , it looks like the Cummings knew this area was significant. I wonder how they knew that?:waitasec:

To me sounds like Misty USED GMA Flo to get the info to TN & GGMS! Misty had to have heard that Tommy was taken out of the jail & with LE so therefore Misty knew TC was bout to tell all so she had to get the word out & who else would do this with no questions ask GMa Flo that is why Misty had to tell her the story of Joe did it. MOO

GMA Sykes and Neves searching the woods near the river. Where are the men in this mess? Where's Jack Lester and Donald? Ma Barker is alive and well and living in Welaka...but she is not making her boys do any of the work...maybe searching is not one of their strengths.

In the wake of Levi's latest show where Grandma Flo claims Misty told her to tell GGM Sykes and TN to search the river area, I have a few thoughts.
It is not enough that Misty passed on that request to her Grandma Flo and that Flo did tell GGM Sykes. But Sykes and TN did go to the site, which means they believed what Misty told her grandma to pass on to them.
Why would they believe Misty and why would they so readily go to the area? This action, to me, shows they have advance knowledge of the site or the site somehow figured into Haliegh's fate. They believe something could be found there, or why would they search there ahead of LE?
To me, this is evidence both Sykes and TN were involved in some capacity of being in on the disappearance of Haleigh.
But then, I'm not a detective. I'm just a member here and it's jmo.

ITA, Azwriter! Remember this from the NG show:

Grace: Ms. Sykes what do you think of them searching--the police searching the St. Johns River?

Sykes: Well, evidently, they had some tip. Somebody called them. And they were down there early that morning and didn't--you know, they wouldn't tell me anything. And I wasn't--I know what they were searching--you know, I knew they were looking for something participating (SIC) to Haleigh, but I didn't really know what.

Hollars: I was the one that called you and told you that.

Sykes: Yes, she did. Ms. Hollars called me--she certainly did--that she had called down here and told them what Tommy had told her. And Teresa and I and--over to that area and walked around all afternoon and looked in the woods over there. But of course, we didn't find anything.

<end>

Now, after learning that Misty told GMHollars to contact the Cummings, I had to look at this transcript one more time. A few more things stood out to me.

Now look at GMSykes statement BEFORE Hollars tell that she was the one that called GMS. GMSykes plays as if she doesn't know why police are searching that area (she says evidently LE had a tip). GMS says "SOMEBODY must've called them" (she acts as if she didn't know WHO called them). Then she conveniently fast forward-to the morning LE was down there searching and they wouldn't tell her anything. She leaves out the part that her and Teresa went down there. She claims that she knew they were looking for something pertaining to Haleigh but didn't know what it was.(if you look at her statement made later she acknowledges they are looking for a dead Haleigh.)

Then look at the statement GMS made AFTER Hollars tell that she was the one that called GMS. GMS admits to that and claims that GMHollars told her that SHE called down there and told them (I'm assuming LE) what TOMMY had told her (Tommy supposedly told her that Haleigh was killed and thrown in the river by the dock). In her statement BEFORE, GMS acted as if she didn't know who called LE. She then claims that her and Teresa went to that area and walked around all afternoon. Earlier in that same show, GMSykes said "you hear so much, you don't know what to believe". Then why did they take the news from GMHollars so seriously? Even when GMHollars was telling some of those gruesome stories on this show, GMS was shaking her head "no"-she wasn't believing any of it. So why did she believe Haleigh was down in that area? I mean, they actually went down there. IMO, there was some truth to that information Misty wanted them to have because GMS and Teresa felt this was credible enough for them to go down there......and it turned out to be the "crime scene". Imagine that.

Now if you throw in the fact that Misty WANTED this information given to the Cummings. It seems clear to me that Misty sent this message for a reason and the Cummings knew it. Why was it just TN and GMS on their search? If they were so concerned about this being the actual area, if they were going to go down there, why not round up your family, at least? The more the better, right? They can accompany them to drop off laundry-why not to help look for Haleigh? No, it was just TN and GMS. Can you imagine GMSykes out searching the woods all day? Those TWO have been in my "spotlight" from day one. Both of them.

The Cummings were told that Haleigh was dumped in that river. Why search the woods? I know some people don't see anything wrong with them going down there, but if they were told Haleigh was thrown in that river, would could they possibly do to find her in the water? Now if they showed up with their own team of people that was equipped to search that river...I would understand them being there. But they didn't. TN and GMS SEARCHED THE WOODS. I can even understand if they just went down there, stood on the dock, and said a prayer-talked to God. No, they spent ALL AFTERNOON SEARCHING THE WOODS. Why? What were they expecting to find in the woods if they were told Haleigh was thrown in the river? It doesn't make sense.

GMSykes say's "But of course, we didn't find anything". And I hope and pray they didn't find anything, and whatever it was that they were looking for, LE found it instead. LE searched the woods around the dock too..they didn't just search the river. That search turned out to be the "crime scene" and it turned this investigation into a HOMOCIDE with MULTIPLE persons of interests.

IMO, GMS and TN KNEW that area was significant. And how would they know that if they were totally in the dark about what happened to Haleigh?

I have my own "persons of interest" and TN and GMS are definitely on that list. JMO though

Does Grandma know or believe that HC was put in the water?
When LE was busy doing that land search in March, none of the family members were there eager or scared to find out what LE found, they paid it no mind, they were celebrating a wedding. But AS went to the pond search at the Mondex, and she got there at the river search. Is there something besides water that sets these search areas apart?

Now that is a paragraph for statement analysis if we ever saw one! Ever get the feeling she knew exactly what they were searching for?

Stumbling all over herself. She didn't know how to get around the fact that she searched the area before LE. She sure wouldn't give any details about her search. There was no good reason for her to call her daughter and hike out there. If Misty told her the water, why was she looking in the woods? I think they were checking or looking for a body or for evidence. In my mind, something is amiss with these two. They were up to something. I am curious at what they would have done if they found something.

I'm more or less gonna give them a pass on going down there because I know I would have had to go myself. But as to "searching" all afternoon? I don't see that.

I wonder if they thought by finding something they could collect the reward?
