Agree - how funny was that! You can call this afternoon - cracked me up!

Did anyone else besides me think Judge Perry already knew what everyone was going to talk about and what his answers were going to be before anything came up?
This is definitely a Judge who thinks in "the big picture. He had his thoughts completely organized before he walked in that courtroom and there were no unexpected questions or comments for him at all.

Oh I thought the judge was very organized,he even seemed to have copies of emails and motions that the SA and JB looked surprised that he had.

id think they'd want to exclude anyone with a soul.

also, they've accused half the state of florida of either killing caylee or moving her body, so that's gonna be a long selection process!

kbl, you are cracking me up on this thread!!! :floorlaugh:

to be serious for a minute......

i seriously doubt it will only take 4 or 5 weeks. at best that's a guess of how many witnesss they have right now. even if it doesnt change they arent factoring in how long the defense cross examinations will take. so id' sa it will take at least double that estimate.[/QUOTE)

I got the very distinct feeling from listening to Judge Perry if they say the trial will take six weeks, he will bustle them along and it WILL take six weeks. I think that's why he's asking them to make this commitment now. He will NOT allow them to drag it out ad nauseam.

At least IMO - he's going to run a very tight courtroom.

I can hear him now - move along Mr. Bay-ezz.

Ok I'm only on page 16, but wanted to ask: who else imagines Judge S watching this with us and giggling?

Is it just me?

THAT is hilarious!!!

I am so looking forward to Chief Judge Perry presiding over all of those death penalty motions. Sounds to me like he wants them all on the docket and get them all done in one day. It's either going to be one very long day in court, or she's going to have to reduce the length of her "speeches."

Rewatching some of the hearing...KC is still as a statue. Someone must have slipped her a zanny before the hearing! And I love the way the judge jiggles his chair. He's an enigma...he moves things along but does it by speaking with a sloooooowwwwww drawwwll. I love him and I love the way he jiggles his chair!

I really want Lyon(s) to do her death penalty phase "crying thingy" she talks about in her speeches in front of Judge Perry. I am giggling thinking about it right now.....

You may have to wait for the trial to see her try this tactic. Will Casey sit stone-faced, or cry along with Lyon?

After you get the dishes done, you still have time to go through a breech birth of twins.

You'll miss nothing!

Just got around to watching this and wow! I've nothing but respect for Judge Strickland, and thank him for his work on the bench in this case. That said, Judge Belvin Perry Jr. runs such a tight ship, was so organised and got so much done in 45 minutes. And good to hear him make the point, '...if she's found guilty of first degree murder...' - I'm so pleased with him.

Judge Perry frowns upon drama and inflammatory comments. I doubt that AL will get away with her usual repertoire in this courtroom. No more "The state is trying to kill my client", no handcuffing herself to the witness stand, no talking with jurors. Oh yes.......it's going to take more than her thespian skills and "storytelling" in Judge Perry's courtroom.

I wonder if she'll file a motion to oppose her "creative license" being stifled. She's been told to refrain from "crying" in front of jurors before.

If I were a juror, this would tick me off, as I would see it as AL trying to emotionally manipulate me.

Holey Moley! the defense is responding to JS's motion! what a bunch of babies playing a urine voiding contest! Buck up JB & CM, take it like MEN!, you got called out! WHO EVER HEARD OF one upping a JUDGE'S FINAL MOTION that YOU IDIOTS WANTED!!!!!!

I know! Seriously, they won. They got what they wanted and Strickland stepped down. There is not one ounce of class on that defense team. Simply amazing.

AL's daughter is graduating on May 2nd so that's why she can't do it then. Judge Perry seems peeved about that.

Are a lot of college graduations held on a Monday? Every commencement ceremony I've attended in my lifetime has been on a Friday night or a Saturday.

This Defense "unit" has a habit of "doublespeak" though don't they?

Complaining about all the leaks in the case when clearly they are doing the leaking.

Claiming Casey can't get a fair trial and then going on in front of ever camera with a tape running.

I guess we should have expected this dumb move. Ask for something in a motion and then complain when it happens. Sigh.

One word - Hangover.

From Saturday celebrations.
