ok about how long it will take to call the states witnesses.

i did some freelance (and free) work on a murder trial 4/5 years ago, (for the defense). when the trial started they said it would take 3 weeks, and the state would only need 7 days. but the state ended up calling superfoulous witnesses who added nothing and the direct and cross examinations of one witnesses sometmes took up 2 whole days. the states case ended up lasting 3 weeks instead of 7 days.

For me, today was like going to school for Court 101 class.
JBP provided an outline for what we can expect and what he expects over the coming months. I appreciate him.
I appreciate him, too...but honestly have to say I wish he talked faster. I fell asleep the first time I tried to listen to the hearings. It could have been my comfy couch...or maybe not.

Well, like childbirth we know it won't last forever. I actually smiled thinking that once it gets started it'll only take 2 months to finally have justice for Caylee.

Is the woman with the blond curly hair that is sitting in the front row of the gallery, behind where the defense is sitting during the hearing, Diana Tennis?

Why do I think that someone posted she was the body language expert? Which reminds me...what the heck happened with DC's depo?

I am not understanding this "orange" stuff...admittedly, I missed most of the hearing...

PS I will not watch the Kentucky Derby tomorrow. I have my own reasons.

When they were talking about JAC money in re. expenses for experts -Cheney Mason proffered to Judge Strickland at the last hearing that defense expert Henry Lee had supposedly said he would be willing to accept a crate of oranges for payment of his services.

yeah, you read that correctly. lol

in re. DC's depo, it appears that the SA got that done. When asked, LDB said something to the effect that they had gotten the depos they needed to date. More to come when they need to depose defense witnesses, but it left the impression that they had gotten it.

Hope to see that one SOON!

eta: Almost positive the body language expert had dark hair and stephanie (I think?) who attended said she wore a lot of makeup. Anyway, she was on truTv giving an interview after Baez & Mason. (the dark haired woman) I, too was wondering about the lady in the front with the curly blonde hair

Oh TY! I will raise a crate of oranges for some pink lady apples.

That might be exactly who it was! Did look like her.

Jeff Ashton is not only a scrumptious doll, he's extremely well-spoken, quick on his feet and has a very likable delivery to his audience.

Yes Ma'am! While watching this hearing for the second time it struck me that it seems like Ashton will be handling the forensics and the death penalty arguments, so I think we will be seeing a whole lot of him in action during trial. He has so much experience with both areas that I am really looking forward to seeing him at trial and if I was Baez or Mason I would be shaking in my boots!

She looked a little like Mia Farrow. Thanks!

ETA: Yup... it was DT (did an image search). Why the heck was she there? Entertainment?

She looked upset for sure. So upset she had trouble shwallowing - and I'm not just trying to be funny! She was actually gulping.
It was a vast difference to me from the way JS carried the courtroom. No jokes, no laughing, no covering her mouth trying to stifle her giggles....knowing the camera was on her every move. When JP was discussing how long it would take the state to present their case in chief and LDB said 4-6 weeks, KC wasn't laughing. When he asked AL, if KC was found guilty of murder in the first degree, how long would she need for the penalty phase...KC turned pale and looked like she was going to be sick IMO. To me she had a look of "Oh shoot, this is for real." These topics had never been discussed before and I think she had a true dose of reality today.

Yes, the strawberry blonde just behind the defense attorneys is Diana Tennis, Dom Casey's attorney.

The couple sitting next to CA/GA are not what I would say are longtime friends, but are friends from church...female played piano/organ? at Caylee's memorial. I believe that the couple went on the cruise with the Anthony's too.

Casey's reaction that both of you mention during the hearing, when Judge Perry says 6 to 8 weeks for trial then 1 week of penalty, really struck me as an "oh crap" moment for Casey. She may have just realized that this is real, and in 8 short weeks of trial her life or death will be decided by 12 strangers and Judge Perry. I truly believe this is the first time Casey was confronted with this harsh reality.

Yup...I couldn't agree more. I don't doubt for one minute that the defense has been intent on buying her more time...hence two years with very little accomplished (on their part).
