Misty should have abandoned her twisted love story with Ron. Ron is deeply disturbed - with or without the H homicide. No one gets any plea deals on the drug/trafficking charges unless they spill on the H homicide. Doesn't matter who had the smallest role/s in H death, they will all serve more time on these drug/trafficking charges than they would otherwise due to the H homicide. I am not saying whether that is right or wrong, only that I believe, "It is, what it is."
Ron is a small-time dealer. Who cares? Small, medium or big. Ridiculous already. Reputation of the community smeared by the drug/trafficking going on - exposed to the entire nation in the midst of the media's coverage of the H homicide - derailed by the drug/trafficking problems of the individuals. The community and officials cannot be pleased.
IMO, they can calmly state one thing has nothing to do with the other - I don't believe it. The individuals with the best defense attorneys will get the best deals on the drug/trafficking charges, but only after they spill on the H homicide.
Ditto. What happened with Tommy's pre-trial hearing today?
But every case has to have witnesses in it even if they have video. Even videos aren't a slam dunk. They weren't in the Rodney King case and I saw a case on A&E where they had video of a man talking to a hit man (undercover cop) about murdering his wife and the jury found him not guilty.
If the plea deal goes through it will have nothing to do with information on the disappearance of Haleigh. He will agree to testify against the others. This is not uncommon whatsoever. Many people testify in criminal cases and will get a reduced sentence for doing so.
One thing I am thoroughly convinced of now is Ronald Cummings had nothing to do with his daughter's disappearance. If so, he would never agree to testify against this motley crew.
IMO
Listen to 5:30 News live:http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/5pm/default.aspx
It was said that on the 5PM news report it was reported that Tommy was forced by gunpoint to go with Joe to dispose of Haleigh's body in the river. That was the reason he was at the river with LE. To show them the location.
No update on what happen in court though. I am trying to see if they will report it again on the 5:30 News.
About Haliegh...If he were to testify, he must know something, right?
About drugs....even if M&T went to trial (unlikely) what could rc offer up and who would believe him...he's on the video. IMO, he has nothing to offer them about his drug inovlvment. He has already given up most of the dealers he know.
BBM
Right. So if he was "at work" and had no knowledge of what happened to his daughter, what could he testify to? He said he didn't know anything.
:waitasec: I checked the dockets and no updates on Tommy.
:waitasec: I have check these three jails and he is not showing up. I wonder where he could be? Odd..
Putnam Jail: http://public.pcso.us/jail/inmates.aspx
St. John's Jail: http://www.sjso.org/inmate_search_warrants.aspx

He will not be testify to anything pertaining to Haleigh's disappearance.
He will be a state witness in the drug trafficking charges against the others charged.
The lawyer made it clear this has nothing to do with Haleigh's case.
IMO
Misty can be called the 'mastermind' all day long, but anybody with a brain, can see from the video, that Ronald was in charge, & popping pills to boot. (what a bonus for court!!!) & the idea that he would testify against Tommy, who was barely even there, is laughable. & just for the record, Ronald is right smack in the middle of this 'motley crew, & it's a tad late for him to try to distance himself. He's no better than the rest of them. But every case has to have live witnesses in it even if they have video. What better witness to have than a person who knew how they were working the drug deals? Even videos aren't a slam dunk. They weren't in the Rodney King case and I saw a case on A&E where they had video of a man talking to a hit man (undercover cop) about murdering his wife and the jury found him not guilty.

From one of the news articles previously posted, this is what Shoemaker had to say:
Shoemaker said the disappearance of Haleigh, while not related to the trafficking case, made resolving the drug case more difficult.
"It's made it harder for all of us to have negotiations," he said
<end>
So Haleigh's case is having some kind of impact on the drug case.
They're probably getting that from the telephone tape. He said they were threatened by "him". That's what I think.
Why is Tommy in PCSO? Is it more convenient for the detectives?
