Playing devils advocate here- but maybe Ronald isn't worried about what Misty has on him because Misty doesn't have anything on him.? I mean, if Misty was covering for Ron- the last thing Ron would want to do is testify against her....

If what Ron's lawyer said is true - that Ron's testimony will only be in regards to the drug charges - then it implies that LE is not that interested in Ron, but is interested in putting more pressure on Misty and Tommy. Even with the drug video, an additional first hand witness who can detail everyone's exact involvement can help the prosecution present an airtight drug trafficking case.

Even though this relates only to the drug charges, if Ron were to testify against Misty, in particular, it would assist the prosecution in the Haleigh case by adding to the mind games they have been using on Misty. If Ron were involved in the abduction of Haleigh, this would open the door for Misty to retaliate and testify against Ron in the Haleigh case. For Ron to take this chance implies that Misty would have nothing to use on him in the Haleigh case. JMO.

My husband fell while cleaning the pool Saturday morning, (broke both the fibula and tibia) and had surgery yesterday morning. I'm so out of the loop, I don't have a clue as to what's going on. Did Tommy have court today? I understand from reading here, that Ron had his case continued. What's going on with Tommy? I figured once today rolled around and we heard how he was pleading, we would know just how deep he is actually involved. Sounds like he hasn't had court yet! Am I right?

Tommy should be in court right now.

:praying: Prayers for your hubby!

We should hear soon about Tommy - he should be in court right now (started at 1:30 EST).

I transcribed Jean Caserez words in relation to this. Here's what she said:

Btw, she also listened intently to the exchange between the judge and Misty's lawyer at her pre-trial hearing and she heard no such conversation.

------------------

Oh yes, I see what you mean. Is Mr Shoemaker maybe bringing Haleigh's case into the drug case in some way. Would she not have pointed that out as a possibility, though?

I'm sorry but I can't see what can possibly be brought in from the "Haliegh Case." Ron has not been charged with anything in his daughter's disappearance. What possibly could be discussed about Haliegh's case in court? There are not charges. I don't believe an attorney would want anything discussed or brought into a standing charge that his client has not even been charged with. JMO

Ha ha Ron's proving to be exactly the person I thought he was. Weak little man-child gonna nark on his drug selling friends so he can get less time. I really hope the state doesn't go along with this little game of his.

There is plenty of data to convince everyone that Misty does nothing but tell mistruths. Why would Ron worry about her trying to implicate him in Haleigh's case ? It has been orchestrated beautifully, Misty couldn't or wouldn't tell the truth for anything - this is the perception of her. I don't see this would be much of a chance for Ron to take at all. He himself is masterful at misinformation, being kind.

Could be or Ron is willing to take his chances (going for broke) because Misty as ZERO credibility and there may not be any physical evidence that would tie to Ron.

An attempt stalled Wednesday to make a deal with the state, said Terry Shoemaker, who is representing Cummings. He said Cummings will agree to testify at trials of Misty Croslin, who was briefly married to Cummings, and her brother, Hank "Tommy" Croslin Jr.

They don't need testimony for the drug case, do they? Could this be about expecting charges filed on Misty and Tommy regarding Haleigh?

That, HH is an excellent question and point. There are no charges on anyone in the Haleigh case, yet. So, what could Ron be willing to testify to if no one has been charged. And I'm sure you agree, LE wouldn't make a plea deal with Ron unless they knew exactly what he was going to state in his testimony against the others, so I think this testimony has to do with the drug case.
Perhaps Ron will be able to tell where and from whom she got the controlled substance they sold to the undercover cop.
The trails he agrees to testify at have got to be the drug trials. There is no trail set up for anything on Haleigh's fate as of now. jmo

Let's stay on track everyone. There's starting to be a lot of chit chat going on that probably needs to be steered over to the theory thread.

This is about RC and ToC's court sessions and RC's plea deal. We have a lot of members and guests coming here for info. Thanks!

I respectfully disagree. I believe his tears were for what he knew was coming.

But, that's MY OPINION ONLY

Huh... I hadn't thought about that....

MOO, IMO, yadda, etc.

Didn't Hope get 15 years? She got a raw deal if Ron ends up somehow getting 15 years and I know she had outstanding recent priors. But I simply do NOT understand what the SA needs Ron to testify to. MOO

I'm thinking about the 911 call by Misty when she was mugged buying drugs, the highly publicised bender she went on with Nay-Nay and WBG, and the fact that she was the one at all the deals sitting in the front seat seemingly in charge of the transaction. On the outward face of things, she appears to be highly involved with drugs, in every way. Moreso than the others do.

Is there any way that Ron could try to implicate her in drug activity that has not been seen by LE as yet? That he witnessed her selling to underage teens, for example.

bbm--this makes sense but in my mind, I can turn the same statement around and interchange Misty with Tommy or Ron. Seems they all could "rat" out each other but it sounds like Shoemaker and Ron think they have something really worthwhile for the SA. But, if it was so good, wouldn't they be happy to get these cases off the docket asap? :waitasec:

I'm not sure if you are referring to the drug case or the Haleigh case. I agree that Misty has almost zero credibility, but not quite zero. In with all the lies are some truths and half-truths and the tough job that LE has is to discern the difference.

Ron is also guilty of lies, but I think he is much easier for LE to read. While I don't think that Ron is an official informant, I think he and PCSO have had an ongoing relationship. As long as he didn't get into any real serious trouble and as long as he was willing to give up information, he wasn't given any convictions. It may be that LE is continuing this pattern with him.

It looks to me like the people that LE is most anxious to go after are being dealt with towards the end. They got Hope out of the way quickly. Since she is appealing, it may end up that she gets a reduced sentence and then they will be done with her. To me, since Ron is next on the list, they either want to get him done with or they feel like they can get some useful testimony from him and then be done with him too. Then they can focus on Misty & Tommy. I don't know what's up with Donna...she seems to be the forgotten one.

over an hour since Tommy was due in court and no information yet, or is Tommy not news worthy??

I never believe defense attorneys' version of things. If LE cuts a deal with RC, I doubt it will be for any reason other than to avoid a trial, they may feel 15 years on this is enough for now while they continue to investigate Haleigh's case, at least it would keep him behind bars until he is 40 or so. I can't LE using him as a wtiness in a cse where they are hoping to obtain maximum sentence on Misty and Tommy, and I can't see RC riskng his neck by having his sentencing deferred until after those two are sentenced...he wants 15 years, not a chance at 15 years, IMO...

I can live with this post. Thanks cluciano63

Maybe we can see something like this in a bit.........

"Tommy Croslin was due in court today but because he is no pi$$ed at the news of Ronald Cummings making a plea deal, his court appearance has been rescheduled due to the fact he is now spilling his guts about the Haleigh Cummings case."
