As to the discussion regarding the tips and whether or not the defense is being denied access to them-I am mystified as to what the expectation is that they will contain.

The defense is going to argue that LE went after Casey because she was the last person to see Caylee, was her mother and her caregiver so they did not adequately investigate any other theory. They are going to argue this whether or not they have re-vetted all 2K worth of tips.

The thing is, Casey lied. She lied about having a nanny, about her occupation for the last year and about myriad other little and not so little things. Nothing in the tips will change that. She claims her daughter was kidnapped by someone who did not exist. A month earlier. And then she never called her daughter in as missing. Never.

It is going to be hard to fault LE for the angle they took regarding who they believed was responsible for the disappearance and death of the child.

The same defense tried by Scott Peterson's defense. The bull's eye theory. Didn't work there and it won't work here. The investigators go with the evidence and there's plenty of it here.

I agree mammabear, something is not right there that just kept playing in my head as i hear it all the time cya and thought that was what he was saying and now he is no where in the picture after being by Casey's side for so long it will be interesting to see this all play out

•4:02 p.m. - Motions are being heard centering the Oakridge Laboratory, the "Body Farm" Jose Baez said it's a science experiment. State says it's novice. Judge Perry appears to want Baez to do deposition of the doctors first.
•3:15 p.m. - Judge denies motion concerning death penalty.
•3:04 p.m. - Strickland’s ruling still stands regarding George Anthony. Defense will not get grand jury testimony of George Anthony.
•2:54 p.m. - Judge Perry rules Judge Stan Strickland's ruling on the Joe Jordan motion will stand.
•2:44 p.m. - Talking about motions by disqualified judge, specifically Joe Jordan recording. Mason says the tape could show someone else dumped remains. Casey was in jail when remains were found. Mason says Jordan's testimony could create reasonable doubt
•2:33 p.m. - Judge Belvin Perry will take the issue of the visitor log under advisement. A ruling is expected sometime next week.
•2:22 p.m. - Orange County corrections says they have to follow public records law. Officials said there is no provision for what defense is asking for. There are 94 other inmates charged with capital murder. They said they can't play favorites.
•2:07 p.m. - Judge just met privately with state and defense. Then attorney Jose Baez came out and met privately with Brad Conway and Cindy Anthony. George Anthony is not in the courtroom
•2:07 p.m. - Casey Anthony was not in the courtroom. Court officials said she suffered a fall and is receiving medical attention. Her presence was waived

We the public already know that professionals will be in to evaluate KC. Why does it matter? She's no better then the next inmate IMHO. Unless the parents want to visit without the public knowing, seems to me that may be the case. I hope JBP denies the motion.

I am new but have been reading for a while so forgive me if this angle has been said remember Lee kept saying cma does anyone think he may have meant cover my * that he was telling Casey cover for him. and this is why they are saying that she may have not put her in the woods but Lee did?

Me personally, no. Because of where Caylee was found tells me it was Casey.

ITA. We all pretty much KNOW what the defense is going to do, so why hide the experts going to visit her? It makes no sense. And if it's a way to get mom and pop to visit, then tough it out the both of you, you're going to be on that log for us to know about. Sheesh.

Not that I know of, but I know there's a previous list up somewhere and it's huge before adding 40 witnesses. Sorry I don't know the exact thread...

Thanks, I have been following that thread and had not seen the new witnesses mentioned today listed on there. Just wanted to make sure I didn't miss it.

you know, when mason showed up at of the blue at the march hearing, i remember a poster said something like 'hes a very effective and respected lawyer and gives the defense a better chance.'

im not seeing. he's just as arrogant, unprepared, and inept as baez. and how can he hope to 'reign in' baez when he cant be competent himself?

imo they are putting more fools on the defense team just to give her a better chance at a dp appeal.

He seems to know the law a lot better than JB so he really is needed imo. A look at his other cases show he too has had DP convictions so it's really a matter of evidence. His main job will be to keep out as much of the evidence against Casey as possible. This is a good prosecution team.

doesn't sound like it at all, Intermezzo. Hardly a case of them "just not picking up" the documents.
They requested them continually, were quoted figures and paid them, but still only received psychic type tips. They had continued to request the tips and only psychic type tips continued to be released

They were being strung along, it's very obvious, they could tell the OCSD thought it was funny

Finally LDB claims it's her understanding the rest of the tips will now finally be released to the defense for an additional $200 LOL

yes, I believe that is the balance owed....if they wanted addt'l records, it would have been based on the amount of pages or the amount of time taken for research and copying. They don't just pull a number out of thin air.

Funny though, once the public and media demanded it be shown, the Defense has never said another word about that.

If you missed the Hearing, you really didn't miss much other than Mason pretty much admitting Casey murdered Caylee but he doesn't think she placed the body there, and whole lot of "DENIED"!

Mr. Hornsby looked up the history of his prior cases, the majority of those he lost, if you don't believe Mr. Hornsby you can look up his most recent case, that defendant was found guilty and is sitting on death row. I think Mr. Mason may be one of those folks that is a legend in their view, but the reality of the record the truth is a far cry from it. IMO he has made some glaring mistakes, already.
