2010.06.18 Questionnaire -Students, parents asked about Kyron again

Brilliant thinking! I bet you are correct.

:blushing: Thanks Flow but I could be way off! Actually the thought first occurred to me before this questionaire - I thought of it when the media mentioned that all the guests at the vigil wrote little notes and put them in a basket for the family. I figured they'd have to have a plan B if they didn't find a match. This is actually pretty ingenious of them IMO.

Just a thought, are the questionnaires put in an envelope before they are turned in? could they be hoping to get DNA off the envelope?

Geez I don't know, great question though. If not, at least they can get fingerprints...

Yep, that questionnaire is like a one person line up. Very unusual move. It's like a turn of the screw.

A criminal defense attorney for s-mom would make sure to have any incriminating evidence from the questionnaire thrown out of court. The way it's put together is biased and leads to only one person - s-mom. Handwriting samples? Can't it be submitted on line? DNA? What and the heck are LE looking for with this? moo

I find it incredibly scary that (unless it's being with held by the police) that one of his friends/classmates did not see him go to school or at the school. This is a small school we are talking about and the SM is the type of mom who walks her kid to class. Normally at my school, of 500, the parents who pick up their kids and walk them to class are the involved parents. Most of us recognize each other or know eachother as "so and so's mom".

Sorry if this is a dumb question ....but on the photo of Kyron taken by Terry on June 4 , and included in the Questionnaire, what has happened to Kyron's left arm?

It appears to be missing...because:

A) Kyron is holding something in his left hand that he is hiding behind his back because he doesn't want it on the photo...( however he appears right handed on other photos so that may be unlikely)

B) Kyron is comfortable contorting his empty hand behind his back and chose to place his hand in what appears to be a relatively unnatural position behind his back...(but not done on any other photo)

c) Kyron had some "marks" on the lower part of his left arm which the photographer did not want to catch on the photo ...so instructed Kyron to hide it behind his back...(although dressing him in a long sleeve shirt would have been a lot simpler...)

d) The arm was accidentally brushed out during a photoshopping accident?

e) Some other explanation irrelevant to finding Kyron.

Any ideas?

When I saw the photo the first time I wonder where is arm/hand was also. I though about asking about it, then changed my mind, because I thought it was just me who thought it looked strange.

Does anyone know why they didn't put a pic of the actual truck on the questionnaire?

d. -- First time I saw that photo I thought it was cropped ; photoshopped.

I thnk the questionnaire will show that several people did see SM get in her truck -- alone--, and drive off --also alone --. In fact, I'm sure she made herself quite visible as she was leaving. However,I do not think that anyone will say that they saw her drive into the parking lot when she arrived that morning. IMO she was very careful not to be seen at that time.

I wonder if Kyron was wearing a watch on his left wrist...which could have inconveniently timestamped the June 4 Science Exhibit photo...

My other thought was that someone strong...say a muscle builder could have "accidentally" placed a mark on Kyron's left arm which would be seen the next time their was a change in parenting ...ie Friday evening when Kyron was due to go to Medford...

Just food for thought!

Why did they use a pic of a truck "similar" to the one they claim TH drove that morning? They can't take a pic of the actual truck?

I think his left arm is bent at the elbow and reaching behind his back (notice the tiny sliver of pink at the bottom of the sleeve, which I think is the tip of the elbow) to grip his right arm, or hold onto his right shirt sleeve. My son used to stand that way when he was that age.

Also wondering if the questionnaire can be used to determine/verify where SM parked her car (truck?) that morning of the science fair, *** if it is true or rumor that there may be some discrepancies on SM's part as to details of that morning....****

IDK, maybe they didn't want to ask the family for one. Maybe the same reason they didn't ask for a "normal" pic of Terri. I get the vibe that LE made the flyer up then kinda asked/told the family they were releasing this.

Posting prior to reading entire thread, so someone has probably already said this, but, maybe there is some type of body damage or something distinctive on the Horman's truck and they want someone to say something like "the truck looked like that one in the photo, but...." Something only someone who actually saw the Horman's truk would know.

Just my thoughts on this.

Although I believe the point was to put the heat on the SM, I am just gobsmacked over this questionaire. I've never heard of such a thing & I've been in the field for decades. To me, this would be a prosecutor's worst nightmare--to have individuals that were already interviewed orally to be asked the same questions and have them write their responses. The chances of changed responses--even responses that are the same but worded differently--would create a nightmare at trial. And the clear bias shown against the SM is pretty obvious.

Bringing my post over from other (closed) thread;

IMO there is an underlying purpose for distributing these questionaires. I do not believe that it is to gather information (or additional information) regarding who saw Terri and/or the white truck that morning/day and what time... this is not how information is collected from potential witnesses of a crime and it is certainly not the correct way to build a prosecutable case against her. This flyer questionaire campaign would never stand up in a court of law. I mean come on, talk about LE baising witnesses! My hunch is that LE is using this questionaire as a means to acquire as many handwriting samples as possible from everyone/anyone who was at the school that day to compare to a letter or a message left somewhere from the perp. MOATM ~

They were sent by email, and it says on the answers can be sent back in an email too.

Additionally, it asks the parent to interview their child and provide their answers as well. To me that says they really want the answers, not some ulterior motive.

And... They would not throw Terri under the bus and make her look guilty just for handwriting samples. That would be unbelievably cruel and an ethically indefensible move on the PD's part.

Also, going through that many handwriting samples would take a very, very long time.

Also, this has nothing to do with gathering evidence or building a prosecutable case. They are finding out who saw her, and will definitely interview anyone who says they did and determine if it's credible. It does not matter that a witness is "biased."

Bias has to do with jurors, not witnesses.

I totally agree any defense attorney would get evidence from questionnaire thrown out, no way it can be used for handwriting or dna or fingerprints, no way to verify who did the writing, licking stamps, etc.... IMO, it's a turn of the screw.... to apply pressure....
