2010.07.05 - Report: Kyron's parents passed polygraph tests

as the link in my sig will teach you.....never trust polygraph, pass OR fail. they're worthless and I am stunned they're still in use by otherwise sensible LE.

Yup... lil LE leaks to turn the wrench....

I have to wonder, exactly who's wrench they are really turning here.
Any kind of jury pool is beginning to look pretty tainted if SM is guilty as so many believe.

But didn't many of those state something like "sources inside the investigation"? This article doesn't state where this source was from. Maybe it is assumed that it was a source within LE but I wish they would say for certain.

By the way does Oregon have anything like FL's Sunshine law or will we have to want for the trial to get any definite answers?

Yup seems as if all the links leaks come from " sources" Probably someone in LE, Reporters will never say who they got thier info from , cause they will loose thier source, Not sure of Oregons laws, you should ask some of the locals, Kimster maybee??

After developments of the past few days, I am truly saddened about this case :( A 7-year-old boy who has been missing for more than 4 weeks has been lost in the drama surrounding various family members. Instead of learning about the accomplishments of this bright and happy child, we hear about the sordid details of the lives of those who were charged with his care.

When I was Kyron's age, I was beginning to develop a strong sense of fairness and justice. I can't help but think that little Kyron also recognized the elements of fairness and justice in his daily life, within the family, in school, in sports, and in other activities in which he was involved. Will there eventually be justice and fairness for Kyron, or will this dear, sweet boy be lost in a histrionic haze? jmo

I am not familiar enough with KGW to say whether they are a decent news source or not.

KGW and KATU are both very good news channels. I am disappointed with KOIN over and over. I refuse to watch that channel.

It seems like some people believe some "sources" and not others, depending on what they say. I'm not sure this one should be given any different weight than the one that said TH is lying, until we know either one is true from LE.

Betty D-I agree, it is a shame that this entire case has become more about the adults and outlandish reports and panting reporters trying to get the scoop on landscapers, etc...and meanwhile, Kyron has been gone almost 5 weeks and no one even knows where to search for him.

There is an issue with that nowadays, isn't there? It seems as if a lot of media cases run that issue. You'd be surprised how many people here in WA don't have a clue who Kyron is. I'm willing to bet the same with OR, even Portland proper. :( Sad, but true.

This is what I got from a Google seach of "Oregon" + "sunshine law":

I work for a public agency in Oregon. We would release certain information in a timely manner but it might cost a lot, depending on how much info you're looking for and how much staff time is needed to compile it. But we do adamantly defend the public's right to any of our records within the boundaries of the law. This would pertain mostly to internal ops. We can only release certain client information, and only if it is not in violation of certain ORS (Oregon Revised Statutes). I would imagine that one of those ORS covers releasing info pertaining to an ongoing investigation.

Our agency based its records disclosure policy on DOJ's:

Here's ORS (scroll down to a link to the search page):

I failed a polygraph when I was 19, it was for a job. I was telling the TRUTH. I had NEVER done drugs in my life and failed a question about drug use. I have little to NO faith in polygraphs for obvious reasons.

This means nothing, really.

I hope I never have to take one not because I lie but because I get very anxious. I have high anxiety even getting a manicure, they are always telling me to relax. I don't know how I would register but I don't have much faith in them anyway, too many people can fake them out.

I could never pass a lie detector test even though I would be telling the complete truth. Along with Astrella613, I just get anxious when people are around me, much less asking me any questions. As I stated in another thread, the results are purely up to the person giving and interpreting the test. Very unreliable, and really should not be used anymore. Thanks to the poster that pointed out the Green River murders example. Should be a huge reminder, there are many other cases with similar results.

Also, why is it reported Terri failed ONE question. What happened with the second test? Terri seems emotionally insecure to me, and I am surprised she passed any questions, I would think with all the pressure, finger pointing, and just being questioned would make her sweat bullets innocence or guilt. I sure would be.

Im thinking that by connecting some dots, if you look in between them you just may find one of the sources.

  • #34
She was deceptive or evasive on a key answer on the first lie detector.?Did she pass the 2nd lie detector?

  • #35
If you failed the first poly, and were guilty, why try to take another one..... without even consulting a lawyer. Its so hard for me to believe Terri is involved with out evidence. And its so hard for me to believe everything coming from sources.... I have to see things on paper, before I am convinced. This is with any case I follow, it took me a long time to believe that casey was capable of hurting Caylee..... jmo
