2010.07.15 What I saw at the Hearing

Now there's an interesting idea!
It would be karma if Lee's "I LOVE YOU" to his sister was SARCASTIC in intent!
A sarcastic jab at his sister for what she accused him of.
Who knows with these weirdos!

See, that's what I've been wondering! It was so weird and so inappriopriate! It was like he was trying to say, this is how the letters made ME feel, beloved sister!

I just don't know, though. The other part of me says he really does love and still supports her. But I know I saw a lot of anger in him today too.

For some reason, this is the only comment I seem to have missed. Does anyone know of a specific mark or link with just Cindy saying that she thought Caylee was still alive? I don't know how I missed that. When exactly did she say that?

I don't think anyone has seen video yet from this hearing. Cindy said this while JB was questioning her.

ETA: I think her exact words were "I still think she's alive" but don't recall the context.

It was toward the very end of her testimony. IIRC, it was on cross by LDB.

It was? I was thinking it was while JB was questioning her. I may just be tired--- it was a loooonnnnggg hearing today.

ETA: I am thinking now that it was during questioning by LDB - sorry!

First, a thank you to the websleuthers who were in the courtroom today, and gave us your insight from being there. Second, thanks much to the poster who shared the link for the live feed - although mine kept stopping due to "inactivity" (even tho I was watching it) a simple click and I got back on until the very end. Finally - I had not seen CA in real time for quite a while. A lot of the videos, etc being shown by the media were old. I took a long hard look at her today, and along with several others here, I felt my first real ping of sympathy for this woman. She had a somewhat flat affect, had gained weight, IMO, and I am willling to bet that both the flat affect and the weight gain are due to anti-depressant medication. As to the comment she made the she believes "Caylee is still alive" - well, I attribute that to someone who has repressed the awful truth because it is too hard to take.Only someone who has experienced great emotional trauma could continue to believe that someone is alive when a positive ID of that person's remains were made via DNA. When I looked at CA I saw a woman who is broken, most horribly broken. And, in spite of all of her previous antics, I did feel for her.

One other thing: did anyone else think that JB and the rest of the team at the defense table looked PO'd when CA was cross-examined by the prosecution?? Just wondering what others here think about that.

I thought it was...:waitasec:... but it may have been on re-direct from JB.

Heck, I'm tired, too. lol I just know it was toward the end of her testimony.

LOL have you ever been in a court room? You have the freedom to come and go as you please.....if you are disruptive, the judge can ask you to leave or the baliff.

Yes I have...Maybe it's because of where I live, people still have respect for court rooms.

Since you mentioned respect for court rooms, I would think that would extend to the attorneys as well. IMO some of the faces made by JB, et. al. at the defense table, however subtle, were not in line with being respectful. At times, JB looked like it was a real effort for him to contain his disdain for the having to have a hearing on this matter, instead of the judge just granting his request. MOO

Just read another post about this on a different thread here and it appears you are correct (assuming that poster was correct!) --- it was during questioning by LDB. It's past my bed time!

Yes. I agree. I'm a poster of the Caylee thread "back in the day". I don't post a lot now as it's usually rehashing, but this day... this was one for the books, and to see the changes in them and analyze and think. George is the odd man out, to me, IMO. I think they already resent him for it.

I have to say, just watching the hearing from my computer and not in person, I have never seen a more unattached but attached family before in my entire life. They all hate each other, that's obvious. But it's like they just can't let go of each other either no matter how much they want to. And three seem to be mad at George, a man I don't think they really cared for anyway. It's like just because he told the truth in that hearing, he's hated more than the rest, but it's not like the rest are lovey dovey. There's plenty of hate to go around. They're like a nest of vipers. It's the weirdest family act I've ever seen, and I've seen some pretty crazy families before now.

For those who went today - did anyone notice if Cindy tried to get KC's attention before she left? I swear I heard a woman whiper-yelling "Casey!" right as she was about to leave and then when CA is shown right after she looks very hurt (as if her daughter just totally blew her off). Any clarification?

I think they don't want even more skeletons out. I think they protect their lair. George (ever since grand jury, prolly even before. I mean, who's finger was he really?) has been outside of the lair. I've seen families like that, but my mother would be the 1st to take me down in a situation like KC's. I get it, but I don't know it. lol I've seen it!

back in the day I remember GA doing an interview with Geraldo Rivera brother and he really appeared like he doubted kc story---it was like he knew stuff but wouldn't share? I don't know if that makes sense....kind of like when ICA went home and he questioned her---HE KNOWS--but isn't allowed to confront the truth/facts---it has to be ICA & CA way or the highway....I'm thinking he may be off on the highway soon...didn't seem to conected with the family...plus all those no looks or lack of acknowledgement from their daughter....I do think he may be hitting the road soon....but that never always messes with how I envision things are going to plan out..just when I think/hope some one will do something right for Caylee (truth--honesty)--they drink the darn koolaide....:banghead:

I also wonder if it will become more of a wake up call after all of CA interviews pretty much bit her in the bottom---he did some pretty damning interviews with LE & FBI back in the day....he has always worried about that smell andI think once he really realizes--perhaps? He is the odd man out---he will never be in with that crowd...they hounded him and made fun of him when he put on his dective hat yet they wanted that postion themselves...he wasn't allowed to do any of the questioning that CA & LA did---he was mocked....so perhaps ....... I just don't know....

did anyone catch CA look when LDB mentioned that she was having problems with witnesses of the defense??? She almost laughed at her-----very inappropriate....that and the stupid looks from the defense....they need better poker faces inside the court of law....

Thanks to everyone who was in the courtroom and posted their impressions and thoughts. I greatly appreciate it!

I watched the live feed on WFTV but didn't watch the whole thing online. I missed the first part of Cindy's testimony and I didn't watch DP's testimony, Cindy's co-worker at Gentiva. I did watch all of Lee's testimony and I also saw the 10 minute break during Cindy's testimony. I watched part 2 and 3 of the hearing on WFTV (they've only got those 2 parts up along with the raw video footage of Casey walking into the courtroom..arrgghh..where's the rest of the raw footage -- there must be part 1 and a part 4 or 5?

During the 10 minute break it seemed like people were chatting it up and having fun. Is it really that light hearted when HHJP isn't there during the break?

I'm wondering if Casey ever turned around to face the gallery? Could anyone see which tooth/teeth she chipped?

If anyone who attended court watches part 2 and part 3 of the raw feed on WFTV, do you notice that Casey is looking at the camera in the courtroom quite a bit? Did you notice that while in the courtroom?

Wow-nothing surprises me about these people. Didn't Casey accuse Lee of molesting her? But I love you's were shared during court. Weird!~

In GC letter to ICA he wrote about being asked 2 questions by JB and CM and that KC would know what those 2 questions were. Could it be that possibly those question had to do with ICA and Caylee and what ICA may have done to both of them or maybe what ICA feared GA may do to Caylee because of what ICA said about GA molesting her? Just thinking

New mornng, fresh thoughts here. It just occurred to me that what could be happening, as part of the defense or mitigation re the alleged molestation is that GA will be portrayed as the perpetrator. Lee is relatively young with his life in front of him, so maybe KC and company have decided to spare him, and use GA instead. Hence the distancing and isolation of him from the "family".....he just may have agreed to be the fall man, to save his "beautiful" CEO daughter. To me, Lee's "I Love You" said that he will do ANYTHING to save his sister. Whatever it takes, he's in.

BBM: Does anyone remember George saying early on that he told Cindy it was the pizzaand garbage that smelled? He didn't want to tell her it was decomp. I'm sure he didn't say it smells like a dead body on that very first day. He was praying it wasn't his Caylee and also trying to protect Cindy from freaking out.

Why yes, Yes I do....forgot about it but yes it did happen.....

My opion is that those questions asked were about GA & LA and the accusations that ICA made about them molesting her.....

Given the fact that we have seen nothing in discovery from the SA office (other than the DNA test on Lee) to verify KC's statements.....I think it's prudent to tread carefully with this topic.

IN the absence of something to "sleuth".......it can get dicey. KWIM?????

I, personally, will be surprised if any molestation comes up at all. Unless, the state uses it to show that Casey just can't stop lying.
