Can tell ya right now that if this old Nana has to ever go before a GJ you can take it to the bank I would not be smiling at any reporter like this chick did.

I know we haven't heard, but it makes sense now that TH spent the better part of Friday at her lawyer's office.

Wonder if she'll show up?

JMHO
fran

All day, Fran, she was there all day!

Yes, she'll show up. They are getting ready to hit her with a murder charge or two.

imo

Stavely also disputed allegations that Kaine Horman and Desiree Young made last Thursday, contending that Spicher was impeding the investigation by not cooperating and advising others not to talk to law enforcement.

"Well, the fact of the matter is she has been cooperating,'' Spicher's lawyer said. "She met with detectives in the case for three-and-a-half hours, and has had several follow-up conversations with detectives. She's cooperated fully. And frankly, the suggestion that she has urged others not to cooperate is absolutely false.''

This is so confusing...:(

This one will be tough for TH because she will not be able to check notes with DeDE--no privacy to spin it with her friend. The overall strategy. Encircle TH because they don't have Kyron.

imo

If this was an investigative Grand Jury... why the presser on Tuesday? Obviously things going on with a Grand Jury is private... This has been scheduled a while now, as had the Grand Jury (I'm sure the GJ wasn't convened in the last 24 hours)
So either something is truly about to go down, or the only thing we will hear during the Presser is : "I can't comment on that"

I guess GJ's are investigative by nature though. Keep trying until you get it right. I bet they have a lot of information to review & the GJ on this might take a long time if the prosecution needs to review with them all sorts of data that creates their circumstantial case.

Good point. How do we know that they haven't been meeting for awhile now? I know her lawyer said it was preliminary, but preliminary to what? Maybe they've been hearing information, and now they're getting ready to deliberate on what exact charge they will hand down? It could be that they have the info they need, and just needed to hear what she had to say. And she might not have had to say much about her part in all of this. She may have had a small, brief part for all we know in Kyron's disappearance. I only remember George testifying in front of the Grand Jury for Casey Anthony. I don't know for how long, but I know she blames his testimony alone for where she is today, that's for sure.

Perhaps Dede was cooperative with the investigation in many areas of their questioning. And then again, perhaps Dede was not cooperative with the investigation in other certain areas of questioning. (Since we now the greyish definition of the word cooperative.)

:floorlaugh:

Have I told you recently how much I love your posts?

I believe HLN just stated that DeDe wasn't asked any questions by the Grand Jury but that she is scheduled to go back in the future - anyone else hear that or my ears playing tricks on me?

<respectfully snipped>
PS for those of you who have been tuned in today--my guess on Fri was that TH would testify today at the GJ. It seems as though DeDe was in first--this is good--keeps the pressure on TH. Any guess on when TH will testify?

moo

I don't think the GJ would need TH to show up for their proceedings. I suppose, she & Houze have the right to show up and offer refutations, but, IMO, why would they show their hand before trial and without having seen any evidence the prosecution has? The GJ set up - is that there is no one present except the GJ, the prosecutor, and the witness & their representative. Witnesses don't get to see or hear other proceedings of the GJ or the evidence or anything. It's all private/secret. (Except the the prosecutor & the GJ)

Grand Jury convened. Dateline (NBC) covering the Kyron Horman case tonight. LE holding press conference tomorrow. Is anyone else's anxiety meter running as high as mine? Remind self: No coffee or iced tea for the rest of the day :D

I'm thinkin' you're not alone by a long shot! Do we know what time the PC is tomorrow?

Could DEEDEE be testifying about TH murder indictment? is that what a grand jury is about? Like a material witness? I just dont know to much about Grand Jurys

The purpose of a grand jury is usually to determine if there's enough evidence to indict someone.

In this case, it would be to determine if LE has enough evidence to indict TH for the kidnapping/disappearance of Kyron, and/or enough to indict her for the MFH plot.

I'm sure that in addition to DD S's testimony, the grand jury is also considering other evidence LE has presented them with that is unknown to the public - what their investigation has found. This could be in the form of documents or testimony from LE.

Why would the GJ want her back at a later time? That just gives people more time to add or subtract to their story,IMO..........good grief.

They just said on HLN that DeDe was living with Terri Horman after Kaine moved out. Did anyone else hear that?

I don't believe the witness' attorneys (or the potential defendant/attorney) are allowed inside during the proceeding. No cross-examination, either.

It's just the prosecutor, witness and jurors, IIRC.

I wonder if it's that she MAY go back at a future time if needed. They might decide that what they heard today was not in enough detail, and then call her back to tell them more. I don't know if her going back is set in stone. It sounds to me like they've reserved the right to call her back, and because of that, it gave her lawyer the impression that they probably would. Or he was spinning it to make it sound like they would ask her back later for more detail. I don't know at this point and I'm rather confused.
