I have not yet caught up with the thread, but my impression was that it must be an election year for the sherrif. There was no "real" info shared other than soliciting for votes.
Trying to catch up too....
Just FYI...not an election year...He was just voted into his first term this spring.

I was just about ready to jump off the fence, too. Owell. Getting splinters....

Get a pillow and go listen to the new interview with DY and KH, it looks like we are gonna be on this fence for awhile..........:banghead:

He's already running for re-election on the basis of this case management. This is his shot at national news, tv face time.

The first one that came to my mind is a large Douglas County employer, that takes its family values seriously.

And I'm very glad I waited to click 'reply' because SmoothOperator catches the same vibe in this post:

I'm going to bow out now for a while, partly because I'm annoyed by the comments of this investigative team being buffoons, having nothing, plotting to waste our time etc. I've said before: Just because WE don't know anything doesn't mean they don't know anything. The entire disclaimer at the opening of the PC explained why they are not releasing the information you want. It's just the way Things Are.
I realize you're all entitled to your opinions, as I am mine. See ya later on.

pdx I do understand your feelings about the negative stuff, but I think most of us do realize that WE do not matter, our feelings of anticipation, feelings of disappointment dont mean SQWAT! Its the integrity of this case that matters and I think most know and feel that Kyron being brought home is ALL THAT MATTERS! To he!! with all of our opinions and comments, KYRON IS WHAT MATTERS and whatever it takes is whats gonna be done to ensure that Kyron being brought home happens. We, as in all of us, will go on with our days, our weeks, our months and can "get over" being disappointed that what was wanted wasnt given in this PC. I, just as you do understand what matters and as I said all the other doesnt mean SQWAT...
I understand needing a break, but dont go away because of negativity, just scroll on thru, and know that LE is not focused on the needs of the public, they are focused solely on Kyron and today just proves that they don't mind disappointing the public&the media, they're doing whatever it takes to protect the integrity of the case to see Kyron brough home and just as importantly to ensure justice is brought on his behalf...

I enjoy your posts and can tell from your posts just how much your heart has been "taken" by this precious, big, blue eyed little boy(as has mine). Don't let negativity keep you from continuing to post :-)

IMO $50,000 doesn't seem like allot for a conviction/reward.
Not when TH can afford $350,000 for a lawyer...................

The reward is not for TH. I wish it were more -- something so splendidly huge that no one could resist.

BBM~
I agree with this, and I also believe that Terri is probably loving seeing Desiree crying for her missing child. She is just that twisted, IMO.

I think TH doesn't care, one way or the other. That's because I do not think it is in her to care. If she did this. IMO.

I think the media ought to do a story on it, and detail what $50,000 can buy. I'll start: A down payment on a house, perhaps a college education, a new X car, pay off credit card bills, a retirement fund, investment in a business, a new kitchen, new furniture for the house, some wonderful landscaping, land, renovation of a house, a trailer for camping, a trip to anywhere in the world, a share in a race horse, medical treatment for a serious illness....

How do we know how twisted Terri is? I am confused on that, we only have Desiree saying bad things about Terri, and now Kaine.

I've never been off the fence but for sure not enjoying the action from up here either.

Si. They don't get camera and case time like this everyday. This is a BIG case for them and they know they are being watched, at the least of it is the FBI, and the media.

I wonder if the FBI is still actively involved. I didn't hear anything about them during the press conference.

Where's the nearest pillow concession stand? I've worn a couple out already. Sigh.

For me it's not the negativity. I may step away because it'll be the same old arguments, same things tossed around, and no real solid decision on what is going on here, just my blood pressure raising each day. I guess I'm back up on the fence and really not liking it. I too may step away as the lack of information other than soap opera drama here is just painful. I guess I'm used to the Casey case and Florida's Sunshine law. I hate this no info, nothing to base anything on, third and fourth anonymous source information that can't be verified.

Kind of hard to argue for something I believe in when there's nothing to support it. I hate that so much. And I'm starting to wonder if LE really does know what it's doing or if they are incompetent and just have a big wad of nothing.

I was so angry driving home today. I'm surprised I didn't get into an accident!

If it is not looking like a real kidnapping (ransom, etc.) or a federal crime of murder, I doubt the FBI would be doing more than being available for consultation at this point and maybe offering lab skills (if there is ever any evidence) and specialists. If his body is found out of state, that might involve FBI more perhaps.

Frankly I am tired of all this "talk" about TH. What evidence does LE HAVE for goodness sakes... :(

Well, that presser didn't knock me off the fence. sigh! I was hoping for a few cold hard facts. I guess I got one...the reward has increased.

Hopefully Kyron will be found soon. :innocent:

I'm wondering if they found something out just before this press conference and had to change the format at the last moment. I can't believe that all this was for just the little bit of information revealed.

OK a week ago they asked for questions to be sent, saying they would attempt to answer. Now the hammer is down again. Something is brewing IMO. They have reversed what they said they would do a week ago. There was absolutely no news in this news presser. Desiree looks exhausted and was trying not to cry throughout the entire presser. Interesting vibes.

I'm guessing that the family is constantly checking with LE on progress regarding finding Kyron alive. The longer they go without being able to produce any evidence that Kyron is living and the more intense the investigation gets as well as evidence pointing to TH having done something horrible, the more desperate DY becomes.

I agree that something is brewing. They intended to answer maybe some questions and have now pulled back. Maybe I am being foolish, but right now, from my perch, I have huge faith in LE. It looks to me like they are seriously, actively working as hard as they can to find him and who is responsible. And I continue to believe that they have a massive amount of info that will eventually help lead to an arrest.
I am frustrated by the lack of info but not angry because to me, the most important thing is for Kyron to be found and that possibility could be severely diminished if they open their mouths.
They are trying to balance the public's desire to know and interest in public safety, with solving this case. But I do think they should just stop teasing us and instead release written statements every other week stating anything they can tell us and assuring us that they are still working hard and getting tips. Otherwise then, they should just keep their mouths closed altogether.

I wanted to put something out there that I noticed during the presser and see what others think..

--- snipped ---
Specifically when anonymous donor is spoken she seems to show alot of emotion. I guess it could be for any number of reasons that would cause her to become emotional but one reason that stuck out in my mind is that it is someone possibly close to her, a dear family friend, the company she works for, or a boss that is the anonymous donor of doubling the reward by donating $25,000. This would explain why she would become visibly more emotional, especially when it is first being announced publicly.
--- snipped ---

Yes, smooth...I noticed what you did. I can imagine that the thought of an anonymous donor coming up with 25K on behalf of Kyron, finding him, could certainly sweep a whole lot of emotion through a mother's heart. Just the thought that there has been time within which the first reward didn't get used, the thought that a higher reward might be needed, the thought that someone would be so caring and generous etc...and the thought that they cannot thank this person, nor do they know who they are...

Why doesn't Kaine ever make an emotional plea for the safe return of his son? It's obvious that Desiree is always the one to step up to the plate (mike) and it is increasingly difficult and extremely painful for her to do so. Why doesn't Kaine show a little chutzpah and make the plea from a father's perspective? Puzzling to me. jmo

Same here. Say something, anything, along those lines. I don't have a link to this, but was quickly skimming through some pics I did see a shot of KH at the school collecting things, sort of on knee, face in one hand, appeared to be tearful but hand and cap blocked face. Could have been a shot from that Saturday when TH was served with divorce papers, etc.

O/T: When it comes to links and that type of thing, I am now computer-challenged, generally speaking, since a TIA. Just felt I needed to put this out there so folks wouldn't think I was lazy. I do try ever so hard to remember all the rules and all. Your patience is appreciated -- please point out my errors; I'll do my best to remember :blushing:

This case is not only making me crazy, but I have thought "something" was going to give now for weeks. Nothing has happened.

I'm beginning to believe that LE has nothing. I hate to put it like this, but if Kyron went with his someone willingly (like TH or someone else he knew), and if he was disposed of by poison or strangulation and then the body dumped (or transported elsewhere), he might never be found, and forensic evidence is going to be moot, since his hair, fibers, etc. would be in the car of a friend or relative anyway.

I don't know who the players in all this are actually going to turn out to be, but whoever did this and is allowing it to continue should rot in h***. Sorry, but there is not a place hot enough for whatever scum is going through with this, and allowing an entire family to suffer.

I think LE answered that questions they meant to answer on Friday in that release. I never thought they would answer more today. I thought it was possible they would make some sort of an announcement if something had come up over the weekend but since they scheduled this a week ago, I was never expecting more than a status report and that is what we got.

I think if we hear of a PC called for the same day or the next day, that would mean they have something to say.
