2010.08.06 - Tommy gets 15 years!

Just curious if his attorney discussed what the sentence would be and why Tommy thought that he was getting much less than 15 years?:waitasec:
He'd told Lindsey that he was looking at 3 & was gonna do his time, & move on. & I read a quote, the other day, (I think at Art Harris), where he thought if he kept his cool, or some such nonsense, that he was still gonna get it. What a dreamer...I don't think his lawyer understood the magnitude, of Tommy's wild stories, so I doubt this is what Tommy was expecting, with that no contest plea.

Also testifying on his behalf were his ex-wife, Lindsy Collins, and his father, Hank Croslin Sr.

The prosecution called Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Travis Smith, who said that Tommy Croslin was an experienced drug dealer.

As Tommy Croslin walked out of the courtroom, his only comment was: "God is with me."

What age is Tommy now? TIA

ETA: I was too quick to ask and hadn't see the article posted directly above me. Sorry. He's 24 yrs.

Wertner has facebook and his recent postings didn't make it sound like he was expecting a light sentence for Tommy. Just because he is Tommy's attorney doesn't mean he agrees with any of what Tommy was saying or doing.

Who's next up for sentencing? TIA (I don't want to derail this thread).

Hope got 15, Tommy got 15, RC is working on trying to get only 15 (?) I'm not sure MC is going to get that youthful offender status. JMHO.

Ronald 8-20 @ 11AM
Misty 8-23 @ 9AM
D Brock 9-1

If Tommy has probation when he gets out does that mean he can't leave FL until he is off probation?

Thanks. It's nice to know that he didn't share in Tommy's delusions.

The prosecution - seeking a 30-year sentence - countered that Tommy Croslin only came forward when facing serious prison time - and that he failed to tell authorities what had happened in the home the night Haleigh was reported missing.

Circuit Judge Terry LaRue sentenced Tommy Croslin to 15 year on the charge of trafficking in Roxicodone. Another sentence of five years in prison for drug possession will be served at the same time.

Tommy Croslin testified that he has a drug problem and that his use of prescription drugs began when he moved to Palatka in recent years. He said he has not taken drugs while in jail this year even though, he said, drugs were available.

that about sums it up for me--essentially the 5 is concurrent so he did pretty well it seems.

You know what they will all serve these sentences and be out in 10-12 years. But once behind bars Haleigh is forgotten and no one is going to talk. It isn't enough for me.

Where is Haleigh?

Where is Haleigh?
& when he files his appeals, & whatever, & then gets out, Haleigh will still be just as gone. I wonder what Tommy thinks about this Haleigh 'mess' now?

Just last week, Tommy's marriage ended, and now he's facing a lot more time behind bars than he expected. While I don't have much sympathy for any of the people who are involved in this saga, Tommy must be one very sad man today.

I think that he probably is too.

Bette, I'm at an age that I've taken time to reflect back on my own life lately. Especially when I look at the sentences some of the offenders get that we read about on WS.

While I don't have much sympathy for those that chose to waste their life. I don't know if they even realize until they are my age just how much was wasted.

He's 24 right now. If he's lucky he'll be 36 going on 37 when he gets out. If not he'll be 39. I think back to all the things I was able to accomplish and the blessing brought into my life from ages 24-37 and I thank my lucky stars.

His choices lost him his wife.
His choices lost him the opportunity to be a Father to his children. His kids will be teens when he is released.
His choices lost him his freedom for up to 15 years.

I have no deep sympathy for these players but what a waste. Such a waste. JMHO.

Wow! They don't mess around in FL with drug charges do they? He got what he deserved, IMO. But I have to admit, the photo of Lindsi crying made me sad for her and their kids. I hope this bit of news is a very harsh reality for the ones awaiting trial.

God Bless Little HaLeigh! Where are you sweetie?

Maybe it's because I'm in a vengeful mood, but he may want to rethink that statement. God is with HaLeigh, Caylee, and all the blessed angels taken before their time.

IMO of course.

Pretty much. With good behaviour, he'll do about 12 1/2 years.

Papa, I always look forward to your comments as you feel about this case the same as I do...I would like to know if you know what kind of time the older croslins will pull,,, since all their charges for VOP will play into their current drug buying charge . I guess I am asking the impossible here, but if anyone knows what a likely figure is,,,, ITA...Not trying to change subject here just curious...Thanks all

Thank You. I will be surprised if they get very much time for the new charge as it's only a $20 rock, but they likely will ride out the remainder of their probation time locked up.
