2010.08.06 - Tommy gets 15 years!

15 years + 10 years probation + $50,000 fine-

What is expected of inmates on the fine?

Surely no inmate is expected to actually pay that?

Wow! They don't mess around in FL with drug charges do they? He got what he deserved, IMO. But I have to admit, the photo of Lindsi crying made me sad for her and their kids. I hope this bit of news is a very harsh reality for the ones awaiting trial.

God Bless Little HaLeigh! Where are you sweetie?

wm

Do you have a link to the photo?
Thanks

Does anyone know if all these players will serve their time in the same prison location? Will Tommy, RC, Greg Page ,,,also wil Misty, Hope and Donna serve together??? If so this could get real interesting...TIA to anyones opinion.

I think that he probably is too.

Bette, I'm at an age that I've taken time to reflect back on my own life lately. Especially when I look at the sentences some of the offenders get that we read about on WS.

While I don't have much sympathy for those that chose to waste their life. I don't know if they even realize until they are my age just how much was wasted.

He's 24 right now. If he's lucky he'll be 36 going on 37 when he gets out. If not he'll be 39. I think back to all the things I was able to accomplish and the blessing brought into my life from ages 24-37 and I thank my lucky stars.

His choices lost him his wife.
His choices lost him the opportunity to be a Father to his children. His kids will be teens when he is released.
His choices lost him his freedom for up to 15 years.

I have no deep sympathy for these players but what a waste. Such a waste. JMHO.

BBM I have absolutely no sympathy for these players either and it is indeed a waste. I save every ounce of my sympathy for the young men and women out there who lead good lives, made good choices but their lives have been tragically cut short by low-lifes such as these.

Is there nothering they can to against Tommy for withholding information about Haleigh?

Did they say 2 traffiking charges? I thought there was only one..

Tommy Croslin, Misty's brother, gets 15 years for drug trafficking

http://www.gainesville.com/article/20100806/ARTICLES/100809643/1002/news01&tc=omni

<snipped>

Also testifying on his behalf were his ex-wife, Lindsy Collins, and his father, Hank Croslin Sr.

The prosecution called Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Travis Smith, who said that Tommy Croslin was an experienced drug dealer.

As Tommy Croslin walked out of the courtroom, his only comment was: "God is with me."

BBM: And Ronald is more of an experienced drug dealer than any of the rest of them, IMO. Hope Ronald gets more than 15 years.

Can't say I'm sorry to see Tommy get what is coming to him.

Thanks, nums24!

Since there are more prisons in FL for males, I doubt Tommy and Ron will be at the same facility. I do believe both Misty and Donna will serve their sentence at Lowell (where Hope is). This womens prison holds many offenders with longer than average sentences. Although they have a seperate wing called the Lowel annex where low level offenders (short timers) are housed. I don't think any of the female players, in this case, will be at the annex though.

On another note, I am relieved that Tommy got the fifteen years. It gives me hope that sentencing for the others will be fair and just.

Tommy and Ron could very well be in the same prison, they try and place them as close to home as possible.Misty will probably go to Lowell and stay there for a while.Should be very interesting.

I still only see one traffiking charge and it was minor..4 gms. That is a 3 yr minimum. the judge did not like what tommy had to say about the Haleigh Case.

An experienced drug dealer..I don't think so. You may have to look to ron cummings for experience. According to this sentencing Ron should get 50 years :behindbar

As far as tn and her mother being there for Haliegh....Puhleeeze! They were there to get camera time to talk about Haleigh and gather support for their Ronald...GMAB!
:banghead:

:woohoo: GLAD TOMMY GOT HIS 15YRS... :woohoo:

:furious: Ronald is being offered 15 yrs, or rather is asking for a plea deal to only serve 15 yrs when he has WAY MORE PRIORS THAN TOMMY AND WAY MORE CHARGES! GLAD TOMMY GOT 15YRS....I WILL BE VERY UPSET IF RON GETS LESS THAN 60YRS! :furious:

Hate to say this, Madj--be prepared. :furious:

Is there nothering they can to against Tommy for withholding information about Haleigh?

If they can ever prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he has withheld information about Haleigh. No matter how small or insignificant he might think that info is...IMHO they will nail his :behind: to the wall. JMHO.

:clap::clap::clap:

You know what they will all serve these sentences and be out in 10-12 years. But once behind bars Haleigh is forgotten and no one is going to talk. It isn't enough for me.

Where is Haleigh?

It's about her Tommy. Think about that for the next 15 years, that's how long you've got to search your memory. You are in prison for your own mistakes but she is deserves someone to speak up and tell the truth. Someone.

Thanks GrandmaJ.

news4jax just said that lisa and hank were in the courtroom, hank sr. and lindsey spoke...did I hear that right? RC's family was also there hoping to hear news on Haleigh....

I thought Lisa and Hank, Sr. were in jail! You mean somebody paid their bail? (I haven't kept up with this since the Kyron Horman case became a case and only heard on HLN that Tommy was sentenced today.)

While I agree that TomC is no angel, I feel this sentence of 20 years is WAY too high.
Obviously the judge is not taking into consideration the needs of L & TomC's children - the end result (sentencing) should be drug treatment, probation, the minimum of 3 yrs. for trafficing, and add on another year for the drug possession @ the bus stop. (4 years is plenty of time for him to "grow up," get treatment, and be rehabilitated!)
Geez, his daughter (especially) will never know her father - If L does not re-marry, society will be supporting another family for the next 17 years. His children are going to have resentment issues and who knows the negative impact this may create in their lives.
How can FDLE claim he is an experienced drug dealer when he has no such charges on his criminal record? The comment about withholding information in the HaLeigh case is also way out of line here too - TomC is not on trial for a missing child! He has not been charged with anything in HaLeigh's case and any statements regarding his involvement were just plain wrong!
Sorry to say; I think this stiff sentence just closed any doors of opportunity for LE to learn any additional information from TomC (possibly a major set-back in locating this child).
I sure as heck hope his innocent children do not have to suffer because LE is gambling on the results of this sentence to further their cause.
just my opinion, for whatever it is worth ...

Note: I, too, want HaLeigh's case solved. I just don't think TomC is involved.

Did they say 2 traffiking charges? I thought there was only one..

The 15 years is for trafficing hydrocodone 4-14 gms

The 5 years is an agreed upon sentence (he pled nolo on 6-3) for the charges of controlled substance posession and drug paraphenalia (the school bus stop incident). This also had a possible agreed to $5,000 fine
