2010.08.06 - Tommy gets 15 years!

A bit O/T - Maybe TomC told his atty about the fishing spot where they all spent time off and on ... maybe LE found that to be a practical spot to search (and possibly embarrassed that they had not thought to search it prior) ... maybe TomC thought it would be the most likely spot for his cousin to dispose ... maybe it was TomC's best guess of where she MAY be, since his other suspicion (Mondex) was verified as not the place. Maybe LE needed to justify this search (Shell Harbor) and made claims of what TomC stated (Did he sign a statement/confession?) and as we all know, they brought MC there to get her reaction to the location ... and as we all know, there was none. She has claimed over and over that she does not know what happened.
Was this search nothing more than a "hunch" on LE's part. If so, I see NO justification in TomC paying for the search ($50k) both in fines and time just because he upset FDLE, PCSO, and the S.Atty because he did not confess or provide the missing link for LE.
It almost appears as if everyone is trying to use him as a scapegoat - placed at the trailer on 9 Feb, fishing on the dock, one time a red truck mentioned - almost like a setup or something???? IDK

IIRC, misty and ron also both suggested that same spot to search way before tommy ever mentioned it. So what are they going to do with misty and ron?

Chelsea told GMA Hollars that is where the LE should look, so it looks like ron and all the others had the same idea......hmm

The Bald Truth | ArtHarris.com » Tommy Croslin Slapped with 15 years!

Werter stressed Croslin had cooperated with police in the Haleigh Cummings investigation, and even offered to become a confidential informant to go undercover and bust other drug dealers.

But FDLE agent Travis Smith said that offer had been rejected because he was a public figure who might have been in danger, and for other reasons. He was a main prosecution witness who talked about the key stone cops bust of the Croslins, father Ronald Cummings and cousin Hope Sykes, who also drew a 15 year sentence for one count of traffickingt.

Werter said he showed the judge records that indicated the average sentence for a trafficking charge was 3-5 years.

I don't think that Werter will gain clients over his representing Tommy. Confidential Informant?????????????? LMAO. Hey, look at me on national tv, I will become a confidential informant, yeah boy!

And this proves--don't know if proves is the right word I am looking for--that he hasn't offered ANYTHING of value re finding Haleigh and if that is the case, he should face additional charges for obstructing an investigation or whatever they'd be called. How much did that River search cost? Those divers were placed in danger and this self-serving horse manure makes me ill.

Exactly!!

ToC's attorney (Werter?) was all over the cooperation and help that ToC was providing to LE. Obviously LE were not fooled at all by the silly fabrication and lies but......

This was worse!!! Interference!

Rather than take the 5th to prevent self-incrimination ToC provided false testimony with the sole selfish goal to seek a lighter sentence -- which was the opposite of what LE wanted and HaLeigh needed.

Obviously ToC prefers the 15 years with a chance of a reduced sentence as part of a non-violent crime versus his true role which may bring Life or DP.

So, since Tommy's getting 15 will he only spend about a third of that in prison if he has good behavior there? I can't see him managing 10 years of probation at all. He's too weak willed.

In the state of Fl. he will have to serve 85% of his sentence..Then 10 years probation...

I see that as a desperate bid to be freed, so he could do drugs. Would anybody trust clean & non using drug buddy? He HAS supposedly gotten off drugs, so what was his plan? The informants that I know, (& they're precious few, thank God), are the biggest junkies out there.

I can't believe that Werter so shamefully used Haleigh, like that. That Tommy is a real piece of work. They would've been better off by deliberately leaving Haleigh out of the trafficking equation. What a poor legal maneuver.

I still only see one traffiking charge and it was minor..4 gms. That is a 3 yr minimum. the judge did not like what tommy had to say about the Haleigh Case.

An experienced drug dealer..I don't think so. You may have to look to ron cummings for experience. According to this sentencing Ron should get 50 years :behindbar

As far as tn and her mother being there for Haliegh....Puhleeeze! They were there to get camera time to talk about Haleigh and gather support for their Ronald...GMAB!
:banghead:

First time I read this I thought you said "As an experienced drug dealer..I don't think so. "

I've noticed that a lot of those who are worried about Tommy & think he has been treated unfairly, think this, because they see either a set-up, or a desperate lie to appease LE. But, we've got to remember that Tommy has noone to blame but himself...HE told those horrible stories, & put himself right in the middle of the horror. & if he lied, & just made that stuff up, today should've been his day to come clean. But no...he's obviously standing by his story. So, where's the set-up? Where's the desperate lie? I'm sorry, but I think Tommy's going right where he belongs.

I respect your view point but disagree. I would rather have society pay for child care & food while Lindsey goes to work to her rebuild their life. These children have learned nothing from their druggie daddy. Perhaps, rather than resentment, they will appreciate that if you break the law, if you sell or do drugs, not only will you end up in prison but you lose all that was near & dear to you.
Somewhere the cycle has to be broken. I hope it is broken now, I hope these children & their mother can find peace, happiness & a stable, loving home.
When it comes to someone screwing up their own life, go ahead, I don't care if they die with a needle or over dose. When it comes to screwing up your kids or anyone's else's kids, well, in that case, I would be more than happy to put the needle in their arm.
Again, I respect your view point & that's what keeps our courts balanced.

I totally agree with this. If Lindsy moves on, I think that is the only way those children have a chance to become productive and hopefully well adjusted. They need a role model. Then maybe this generation won't end up in jail too.
Tommy and Misty never had a chance.

Tommy Croslin, Misty's brother, gets 15 years for drug trafficking

<snipped>

Also testifying on his behalf were his ex-wife, Lindsy Collins, and his father, Hank Croslin Sr.

The prosecution called Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Travis Smith, who said that Tommy Croslin was an experienced drug dealer.

As Tommy Croslin walked out of the courtroom, his only comment was: "God is with me."

Wow, just wow. Does this mean that Tommy gets a sticker on his cell wall that proclaims "God is with me" like Ron got the "Only God can Judge Me" on his truck window? I really, really wish that we knew what Tommy really knows and Misty really knows and of course, last but not least, what Ron knows and what Ron did.

Y'all, I think Lindsy needs a bit of direction right now...................really.

I have so many thoughts about Teresa and Annette being present in the courtroom during Tommy's sentencing but I'll refrain from voicing them at this time...........

But Florida Department of Law Enforcement Special Agent Travis Smith, testifying for prosecutors, said Tommy Croslin was an experienced drug dealer who could deliver large numbers of pills from suppliers to his customers.

"You have to have credibility to get a quantity of pills," Smith said.

Smith said that on the night of the arrest, Croslin was with Misty Croslin and an undercover officer. He said Tommy Croslin contacted four different people before finding someone who provided 45 oxycodone pills that Croslin sold to the agent for $650.

I am hopeful that a transcript of today's hearing may show up online, or someone will get one.

BBM.

I think Tommy will need as much help as he can get in the general prison population if anyone decides to seek some Justice for HaLeigh.

If LE or his attorney cannot get the truth out of Tommy then someone will. If he thought the conditions were bad when he was moved and he was harshly treated by LE then .......

I have a feeling that the SA, the judge and prosecutor are trying their damnest to figure out how they are going to get by with just slapping Ron on the hand for his drug dealing after laying on 15 years for Hope and Tommy. I can't wait to see how they are going to explain it. Should be real interesting!

:offtopic:

Where are results from WBG's hearing yesterday?

I know I'll be searching for one. I'm terribly curious to hear how the prosecution played this case.

The state of Florida did an excellent job today! They did what I call a "Slam Dunk."

I don't believe, from the tears I saw running down Tommy's face, he expected to get that sentence.

Now marching on to 8/23/10 Misty Croslin..
