Thank you all for doing such a great job passing along the info as you're hearing it. So helpful!

I'm dying to know what CA thinks of Brad's speaking out (laughing at the Zanny theory) -- I can't imagine she's thrilled... Heh.

I agree on all points. Thanks guys for the rundown and I'm curious about CA's reaction. I think that even now she's dropped the Zanny theory too.

File page 393/ pagination page 481

Cindy is discussing the deal with 48 Hours:

"I'm not getting that much. 3,000 [sic] goes to Brad, and then I have to pay taxes on it. So roughly $5,000 for some pictures and video."

Thank you so much, I forgot about the CBS money. Maybe it was a consultant/manager fee agreement? He represented or acted as agent for them for the media transaction and received 30%.

I wish somebody had posed that question to him.

Money is money, and money does NOT mean "pro bono."

One of them is lying.

ETA: That was poorly stated by me. "Pro bono" means NO money, not "just a little money."

Maybe he meant he worked for them because he was a fan of Sonny and Cher? :waitasec:

Tuned in half way thru...my impressions....
1. Brad knows KC is guilty
2. The Zanny the Nanny story is just that...a story. Will be used by prosecution to show KC's lies
3. Brad knows the A's like none of us do. He knows them as people, as a couple up close. He sees them as a hurting couple in horrendous circumstances. He allows Cindy her grief denial.
4. He recognizes their need for a lawyer. They could be charged in the future with obstruction of justice.
5. Ray Kronk is just a person who found the remains. Defense will not be able to pin anything on him.
6. After all the time he has put in with the A's, he is disappointed that Baez has not utilized him as part of the team. He is not impressed with Baez' defense of KC, neither are the A's.
7. While he did not disparage the A's in anyway, does not want to harm his reputation as a good lawyer, this man is longing to be free and speak what he really knows.
8. He deserves some time to go fishing.

BTW...how do we know the person who was banned (justice something) was Michelle Bart? I find that curious and funny!

I'll give credit where credit is due. He presented himself in a strong professional manner tonight. It's kind of obvious what he really thinks of the defense team, and he made some surprisingly complimentary remarks that I think were directed at the prosecution (the whole statement about the how the good professional lawyers are the ones who are not the ones playing in public. They are simply quietly and diligently doing their jobs, or something similar. I need to go back and re-listen to it.)

Is it just me, or does anyone else get the feeling that BC is NOT on the "KC is Innocent, SODDI" bandwagon?

Thank you to all who have kept us informed.

How BC has stayed with the Anthonys thru all their rude behavior
"Pro Bono" is beyond me. Maybe he feels all this publicity has been
very exciting. When will the next attorney step forward to reach for
all that press coverage for free?

Thanks for taking notes for those of us who missed the show! :grouphug:

That was interesting.

The bestest part was, in the chat room, when Voices for Justices (i.e. Michelle Bart) was muted by the admin of the chat.

Just the bestest.

Blaise

That was brilliant, Steph put her on mute saying she had breached admin rules for posting. She was being somewhat annoying with her questions but I'm not sure which question or statement caused Steph to mute her.

BC sounds like a nice (yet vulnerable) guy and is struggling to maintain his honor and integrity, despite the effects that sipping the Kool-aid is having on him. He isn't Kool-aid wasted, just Kool-aid buzzed.. ;) KWIM?

re: Michelle Bart
I tuned into one of her first shows and it sucked, mostly all misinformation and plugs for Casey's innocence.
Thanks to all who gave such great info on tonight's show, I missed it.

Actually pro bono is Latin meaning "for the good of the public." Today it's commonly used in the legal profession to mean the attorney is providing legal services without expectation of payment for those services. They still might expect payment for services other than their "legal" expertise, such as travel, printing, transcription, etc. expenses, or even broker or agent fees.

Conway wasn't lying, he was just stating the facts in a way favorable to him. And really $3000 in 19 months is not a great wage.

I understand and accept your fine points of pro bono. However, the public at large would still expect a pro bono attorney to mean that s/he is not accepting money for his/her services - without the fine points. I think it was misleading and a bit disingenuous on Brad's part to state it was "totally pro bono." And I still think someone was lying, not necessarily Brad.

And no, $3K in 19 months isn't even a decent pittance. But it was his choice, so my sympathy is quite tempered.

Agreed, it may be misleading but pro bono means no charge for legal counsel not no money period. And I certainly have no sympathy for him, but that's what some attorneys do, no? NeJame gets lots sympathy yet he is looking to cash out with a book deal. I don't fault him for it. I think one can compose themself in an ethical way and still earn a living even if that means going on tv shows or writing a book.

I haven't quite decided how I feel about Conway yet. Do you think he's been with the A's for 19 months just for the money? Or could he really have thought he was helping people in need? I lean towards the former, but am still not sure - probably somewhere in between.

I think you left one point out of his combination of reasons. What better exposure could he possibly get for his legal services - his media exposure has been worth millions if he had to pay for it to advertise his services for future clients.
