Is it normal to wait just one day before a hearing to subpoena someone?

Is it normal to wait just one day before a hearing to subpoena someone?

That depends on when the hearing date was scheduled and how hard you think it will be to serve the person. But obviously they were subpoenaed before today, because today the County is asking to quash the subpoenas that were already served.

I think that JA & LDB have some respect for CM for his years of experience and maybe his age, but to be truthful, CM really hasn't done much on this case, IMO

After the statement he made at a previous hearing about never being held in contempt in 40 years he might very well be fed up with JB.

I wonder what is in Lee's "handwritten" notes? In the phone call between Casey and Lee, he says that he is doing his own investigation... so I think that shows you that he wasn't an "Agent of the State."

Normally, in a hearing that is going to take a couple of days, you would-- out of professional courtesy to LEOs or people like county witnesses -- put the witness on call. We would always call them from the courthouse and say...you will be needed after lunch or the such, so that person would not have to miss an entire day's work.
