Exactly
Rolling also had an opportunity to give closure to other families before his execution by telling LE more info about other cases and he chose NOT to. Don't ask for a link...I don't have one because there isn't one.

It was a PERFECT reference to offer for JB's consideration.....I had discussed that specific case relative to the KC case as far as change of venue in the last few months with a few people (nonaffiliated with the case to be CLEAR). Ummmm did someone share?????

And that only shows you what kind of person he really was. Very Evil.

M eyes lite up when he brought it up, Do you know about the Danny Rollings case? I was wondering where he was going, I was thinking the electric chair (death penalty).
Do you know Mr. Baez what kind of sentence Mr. Rolling received?
I was hoping would be the next question.

Judge Perry: Okeechobee is not demographically similar to Orange County.

Isn't it odd that JB is managing to do research on location, location, location. He should be a Realtor.

He is so full of it.

I dont think he'd make it there either.

Question:

In all the palavering about the diary, the one thing that stood out to me was that Judge Perry mentioned testing the ink. I do not recall that *anyone* to that point in the discussion mentioned this - it seemed to be all about the "relevance" of Casey eating chocolate.

Did I miss something, or is Judge Perry reading the discovery?

I think he read the discovery. I am PRAYING that the FBI can pin down that ink! That diary could become a solid NAIL in Casey's coffin!

Doesn't HHJP read all the discovery? I'll bet he does! And the chocolate comment was Baez talking about ICA could have been talking about in her diary, (not necessarily about murdering Caylee) and if that was the right decision or not.

Well, HHJP did slip in there that Danny Rollings did plead guilty......hint...hint.

I'm sorry, but no woman on the face of this planet eats chocolate and then wonders if that was the right decision. Baez doesn't know women AT ALL...

I feel like a loser, myself ,right now. I actually thought JB would FINALLY comply with the HHJP's order, especially since the sanctions were applied.
Silly me.

Me too, MissJames.

I really did think that considering the sanctions and especially after all this HUGE mess of discovery released just one week ago today, that JB would come into court with even a smidgen of humility and respect for the bench.

I am up to about p. 16 now and if anything, it seems like he was worse.

My daddy used to have a saying about a "hard head".....

I really am surprised.

True but ... it goes to show that JB fears the Diary coming in.

If it was 2003 or even 2004 then JB would not care about the Diary. The fact that he brought this up and HHJP had to school him on either doing a motion or objecting relevance at trial speaks volumes.

Rather than downplay its relevance he gave it significance and that the SAO are maybe onto something. It makes me think that it is 2008 and JB doesn't have much if anything to counter that.

LOL HHJP is gonna call the lab himself! I would love that!!!!!

-----------
Yes!!! B. didnt look happy either! :floorlaugh:

  • #610
I wonder what happens if the judge calls the lab & finds out they have already issued their report. Anyone know?

Also, Baez sure was worried about that diary wasn't he? I can't wait to see more reports on that!!

BBM:

Yes, Baez was really worried about the dairy. I think that may have been why Cindy was there also - because she may have known it would come up. I have said it before, (several threads ago) and will say again that Cindy also wrote in that dairy in the part where the neatest writing is. I think that much will be found out as well as the ink date results on that part. All MOO.

* I so enjoyed this status hearing!

Thanks kaRN! So that would be like me flying to Chicago in hopes of having lunch with Oprah? :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

So funny You took the words right out of my mouth.

Was Cindy ringside today checking up on JB for undone homework?
Wanting to see for herself how he is picked on?
Giving glares of death to anyone?
Also, is a defendant allowed to view a hearing via video as it is happening.
I imagine jaw and fist clenching.

  • #613
YES, he did. I believe Dr. Reichs is tweeting via smoke signals from a fire on the beach in Tahiti.

The question HHJP kept asking Baez was "Do these people have phones?" "I don't understand why you just don't call them on the phone?" when he was complaining about not being able to reach people.

Maybe aside from the obvious lies that he tells much like his client, perhaps he doesn't pay his phone bills either????

Just catching up = Was SO annoyed that every avenue I tried to use to watch the hearing today kept buffering out on me ~ grrrr.........but have SO enjoyed everyone's running commentaries on the events.

Welcome new people ~
Back to reading ~ THANKS AGAIN, EVERYONE.
You guys ROCK.

Now that you mention Cindy - when the camera panned over to Baez's side of the courtroom immediately as the hearing ended - Cindy and her friend had skedadled - did anyone see her leave and when?

Speaking of Cindy's friend - I don't think the woman that she had been hanging with from church has been holding Cindy's hand in court lately, has she???

I think she has gone missing also now.........or is it just my blind eyes??

  • #615
HHJP definitely just called the defense's bluff. I'm betting JB is more than a little nervous right now. :)

=====
If he did what I think he did he is ch*t on a stick.

That's just one more thing he doesn't know anything about, oh like, say the LAW!

The State asked for the diary to compare the writing on the jailhouse letters to the diary to verify it was, in fact, KC's writing. It was a know sample. So it has not been 2 years. jmo

That reminds me, baez also whined again about the State's handing over discovery, prompting my hero Linda Drane Burdick to announce that the State will never stop investigating leads.

jose baez and his bunch are so out lawyered in this case it is laughable. IMO, casey anthony has gotten the defense team she so richly deserves.

It has never been my experience that judges read all the discovery...

They rule on the pre-trial motions so they review what is necessary to make a ruling, but they don't have the time to review the massive amounts of discovery on all the cases on their dockets.

That said, from what I have read on this thread, it does appear he has reviewed some of it at least.

I noticed that Cindy did not do her usual waiting around at the end to give Baez a hug or whisper in his ear this time. I did not see when she left though.
Her church friend, Donna, was right there by her side today, yuckin it up and talking with Cindy and Jim the media guy.
I noticed that Cindy had some type of ring on her left middle finger ... but no wedding rings on her left hand.
It annoyed me to see Cindy so jovial and in such laughing-talking good spirits today. This was a tea party for her and she was lovin every minute of it.

Beach, that was yet another favorite moment.

Baez had whined on and on and on about poor pro bono Kathy Reichs. How she is soooo busy and soooo hard to get ahold of. And how awfully hard he has tried to reach her about a report, and how he is taking his "unique opportunity" to go all the way to Chicago or wherever the convention is just to be able to take time with her and his other reaaaallllly busy experts.

Then, calm as can be, JA produced copies for the Judge and the defense of several pages of Kathy Reichs tweets over the last month or two - detailing her time off spent with kids, her cats, on vacation in Tahiti etc, etc, etc.

Priceless!!!

Then, just to make it better, Baez gets up to the podium and weasels, and whines and mutters about Twitter yada, yada, yade and tosses his copy of the tweets back onto the SAO's table!

You can hear JA whisper to Baez "Those are your copies" and Baez announces that HE doesn't need them. Dollars to donuts that at some point in the future, Baez will complain that he never received a copy!

I was laughing so hard that I might be mistaken, and the camera was on Baez at the podium, but I thought I saw one of the SAO's pass over a copy to Mason - might have been something else, but I thought it was the Twitter copies!

Priceless!!!
Yes LDB picked up the tweets that JB had thrown back at her which landed on her table and placed them quietly within arms reach of CM on the defense table.
