Oops! I'm always late to the party. :loser: missed this!

Thanks for linking them scout. :blowkiss:

I opened Amy her own thread so we could separate the two discussions.

[ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134032"]Thread for discussion of Amy's depo linked here.[/ame]

Reopening. Please stay on topic and discuss Tony Lazzaro's deposition.

Just one example of an OT post on this thread: Rehashing the reason KC became the liar & master manipulator she is, is because CA never made her take any responsibility for her actions is not topical. This kind of discussion quickly derails the entire thread and makes information very hard to find.

We tend to do this simply because it is more convenient to post a thought on the thread you are currently reading, but it is to the benefit of everyone to bump a topical thread to express your thoughts.

Okay, let's try this again. :)

The title of this article should be: Tony Lazarro- Casey claimed her father abused her

I just read Amy's depo...interesting Casey never mentioned to Amy, a close female friend, about any sexual abuse...she only mentioned it to the males in her life.

  • #125
She probably got a bit of tough love in the form of a good spanking from GA for lying.... :innocent:

I doubt it...IMO Cindy would have never allowed George to lay a hand on either of them.

  • #126
So, any speculation on why Mason got so upset and left? Was it his hearing aid or was he upset about Baez questioning Tony about the smell in the trunk of Casey's car?

  • #127
I'm only on page 9 and the questioning is already hard to follow...quintessential Baez. Oy.

This one cracked me up.

I'm not sure it's that he didn't really remember, or didn't want to remember. I noticed he was tripping along, and then totally remembered breaking the lock off of the shed at Casey's house. And then it was back to not remembering so much. I think he is remembering what he wants to remember. I think there are things he could be saying, but he doesn't want to make himself or Casey look bad. And he doesn't seem to want to admit that all he wanted Casey for is sex either. I think he realizes how immature he was back then and is embarrassed by it.

IIRC, TL and his friends were pot heads. That's probably why he never had great recall.

What I am looking for and can't find is how many times in their 'relationship' was Caylee ever with ICA, that TL would know what kind of mother she was. In his first LE interview with Yuri he says that he and his friends would tease her "Who's she with today" .....? I know he was at the pool with her when they met JG but other than that- ?

OK - what has TL fried his brain with that he cannot remember stuff from, probably, the most important event in his life thus far???? Dear Lord, I can remember stuff that was said when I was in the 3rd grade and I'm 53......redonkulus as my dd says.

In reading Tony's depo... HIS friend was in a car accident. So, this must be why Zanny was in an accident. :waitasec: The chameleon.

Amy was also in a car accident...car was totaled...or so Amy thought.
Amy's car accident was in early June, iirc between the 7th and 9th

Part of it might be anxiousness, having never experienced anything like this before ( FBI/LE/depos) he states in his first interview with YM that after he talked with the FBI he got to thinking and remembered more detail, looked up his phone records etc so he may just feel stressed at the time and not recall.

I believe that was the ONE AND ONLY time...I may be mistaken though, because the roommate seemed to recall much more important info than TL. And we thought he was going to be an important witness?:banghead:

People seem to forget that TL and ICA were not an item for an exceptionally long period of time. Obviously he wasn't a serious relationship. I am guessing she was more "into" him, than he was of her. Not saying it was right, but pretty typical of a summer "fling", no? He was basically taking what he could get while the going was good.
This may sound bad, but some of the guys I dated in college were for one or two months. I couldn't recall specific details about them personally. I mean, really, I wasn't dating them for their "personality" at that point!
Some of the questions asked of him were probably things he hadn't really had deep meaningful soul searching thoughts about.
Mostly like "Wow, she cooks, cleans and puts-out. SCORE!"
I think Jesse comes across better in his Depo because he was emotionally involved with ICA. It is obvious from TL's depo that he really wasn't.
I think his joking about moving back to NY was said in jest to get ICA's reaction. That is when he realized she was really getting attached.
Still not sure 100%, but I am guessing he wasn't going to get that serious about her. EVER.
IMO only

Very true. I think he's wishing he never met her because he wasn't that into her and then she killed her child. So he had to get involved because of a casual fling he was having with at the time. If a guy is not into someone, they definitely don't want to be roped into that person's personal problems. I know a guy that has run several times when the personal problems got to be too much for the girl he was seeing casually. And TL got roped into this for almost three years of his life now. I bet he's a lot more choosy about who he has casual relationships with now.

I also think he wants to divorce himself from this case as much as possible, so of course, he's going to not remember things that might tie him into the case more. I think it's a combination of him not every being really into her and not wanting to be tied into the case anymore. He probably almost had a life for himself, and then in comes the bumbling defense to finally depose him and get more attention on him before the trial starts.

AL: I just don't recall. It could have been. Honestly, it would have been much better to do this at that time. (page 30)

Thanks for saying that, TonE.

Oh yeah

I guess I associate Amy's car accident situation with Jacksonville. That's where Casey got the whole Jacksonville story from.

I do believe this was the second depo for TL. I could be wrong though.

You are right.
Tony's First Depo was conducted on October 30 2008
There was already talk about the DP and there were concerns that Baez should not have been doing depositions because there was no DP qualified attorney on the case

http://www.clickorlando.com/news/17855547/detail.html October 31, 2008
Baez Deposes Witnesses
Baez on Thursday deposed witnesses for the first time in the case.
Baez and his defense team questioned key witnesses, including Lazzaro.

I don't believe this depo has been released in discovery

Tony's First Depo was conducted near the end of October 2008

I am going to go with the 10/2008 depo by Tony was the most accurate, as it was all more time specific then. What he said then vs. now.

I also wonder if he wasn't somewhat hesitant in the second depo (2/11) to get into any specifics, just on the chance it would be contradicting something he might have said back in 10/08. As in, his lawyer preached that to him and they were just being very careful (deliberately vague) so as not to impeach his previous deposition and statements.

IMO, this 2/11 depo was pretty vague and that bothered me a little. Then again, maybe it's because the questioner (LOL, Mr. B) wasn't honing in on specifics all that well.

Baez; Mr Lazzaro, let me ask this, do you recall whether you told LE that you did not smell anything?
AL; Please repeat the question.
Baez: Do you recall--
Mason: I'm going to my office. I can't stand this.
Drane-Burdick: Let's go off the record.
Baez: ...when Casey opened the trunk of the car..
Mason; JOSE
Baez; that you did not smell anything?
Mr Ashton: Hold on, everybody stop for a second.
TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES-Discussion off the record
Mr Mason left the deposition
Baez; Now, going back to the 1st time that Casey ran out of gas and called you, you're saying that you don't recall whether she opened the trunk or not or do you recall that?
=================================================

It looks to me like Mason was upset with Baez and the line of questioning?
