2011.02.21: Hailey's Angel's Quit Searching(decision reversed 2011.2.22)

What I see is BD trying to discredit this group with any means possible so that when they do find Hailey, BD and SA can scream tainted evidence. BD's shown time and again that her best defense is a "good" offense, and she's using any tool she can, including ones she perceives have been used against her (like alcohol) to turn the public against this search group.

If it were my kid missing, I'd be paying for this dinner, and I'd be supply copious amounts of alcohol. These people have trudged through brush and mud and muck with aching joints and feet, with fear in their hearts that any second now they will find the decomposing body of a young girl, and they deserve a night of just getting sloshed and forgetting it all.

Speaking of joints...I figure before it's over BD will claim she has "information" that the searchers are out there smokin' it up and making a party of it while they are in the fields searching.

BD says she doesn't want HD found in the dirt. Well, Hailey might not be found in the dirt, but BD's done an excellent job of dragging her through it, and BD'll drag anyone else through it that she perceives as a threat to herself and her precious SA.

She complained about the group holding the dinner in "a bar" on Saturday night and people were drinking. Yet, she sees nothing wrong with stocking her house with cases of beer on New Year's Eve just days after her daughter "disappeared". Totally bizarre. Not to mention American Legion halls may have bars in them, but they are much more than that, and have multiple functions, including being settings for meetings, dinners, weddings, birthday parties, dances, etc. Give me a break, BJD. (What about drugs, BD?)

Her many versions of how Hailey disappeared are getting monotonous. Has she never heard the story of the boy who cried "Wolf!"?

I can see how people would become disgusted and walked away from the whole case. She should watch it. People may not want to put themselves out to search for a child whose mother won't lift a finger to do anything to help find her daughter except to toss multiple, conflicting versions of the story our way. :shakehead:

I glad she can find the time to call LE regarding Hailey's case every now and then. That's dedication.

As much as I hate saying this, perhaps BD does want people to stop searching for HD. If she isn't found, the truth may never be known. As soon as people lose interest, she can get back to her life with SA.

The most shocking thing in that article to me was that BD was not in nearly constant contact with LE. If it was me, I don't think I could bear it. I think I'd either be camped out at the police station or on the phone with them every hour.

All JMHO

Just curious about the statement made regarding Klaaskids and Laura Recovery NOT being invited, does anyone know if this is true? I'm curious if this is true why an appreciation dinner for "searchers" would not include two of the primary groups helping with searching?

My understanding was that the appreciation dinner was set up by the woman who first organized the search group Hailey's angels.
This group is local and they have been doing searches every day, the dinner was for the people that have searched with that group.
To me there is a lot of fighting going on in that town, I've said that it seems to me that there is almost like 2 Hailey's missing, one belongs to Clint, one belongs to Billie.
I don't feel, from the very beginning that these families have been united in the search for Hailey.
There has been a huge division right from the get go, not only from all the family involved, but from the citizens in the area.

Ahh, ok, I think I'm putting the pieces together. I thought initially (and apparently incorrectly) that this was a dinner for all of the searchers, but it is looking like it was more of a private party for one group. That would explain why many at the CC had no knowledge, cuz they weren't invited, lol. Hard to keep up sometimes!

snipped “I told her not to leave the house that day, but she did. She could have been walking to a store, or to play basketball,” Billie Dunn added

Um, wait,wait...how the heck are we supposed to keep track of all these timelines if BD can't even keep hers constant. So now, another slam at HD, this time for disobeying. Now BD is saying that she told HD not to leave the house Monday. Then, she says HD could have been walking to a store. (Here's that walking to a store coming up again.) Now, problem with this is BD is acting like HD disobeyed and left the house when? Is she implying that HD snuck out? What happened to the sleepover excuse? That didn't work too well, so how about we try this HD was a bad girl, disobeyed mommy and just took off without permission. So, painting HD as disobedient falls in more with the runaway/abducted spin. I don't buy it.

IMO

If ONLY Hailey had listened to Mom.

Uh oh, wait, when exactly was it that you told Hailey not to go out that day, Billie?

Since you never stopped to call SA that afternoon, I'm guessing maybe it was whenever she magically told you what she was wearing earlier that day, right?

(SNIPPED)

Freda Radcliff is one of "Hailey's Angels," a group of six who organized a volunteer appreciation dinner this weekend for search crews combing through the fields for the missing Colorado City teen.

"We weren't appreciated for what we tried to do for them," said Radcliff.

Radcliff says there's only one way to describe it.

"A big fiasco," she said.

The culprit, a video created by "Hailey's Angels" that chronicled search efforts from the 13-year old's disappearance to now.

"They showed me, Clint, our family, little kids who were there, video of where they go to search in these ugly fields and these ugly creeks for our baby," said Billie Dunn, Hailey's mother.

Hailey's mother says for her, the hour-long video tribute stirred some negative emotions. She did not like how her daughter's story was presented.

"We're hoping to find Hailey alive," Dunn said, "that's what we want, we don't want to be associated with that."

Volunteers say a search crew member trained by one national agency asked "Hailey's Angels" to turn off the video halfway through.

I'm not sure if this means the search crew member was from HA or another group, but I'm bumping this FWIW. :waitasec:

Yes, I believe that's correct. I think that there were one or two of HA who were trained by the organized group, but then decided to stay segregated and run their own searches instead of those through the orgs that came in.

You know even though I can see why Billie was upset and totally understand why she was upset there is one thing I do not get about this search group leader. Why is she so worried about what Billie thinks? This is about HAILEY and find it very disgusting that she is more concerned about what Billie thinks than searching for Hailey.

I have to agree with you. I have to wonder if it also has to do with CD saying publicly that he thinks SA is innocent yesterday. JMO

FR did say the family is ungrateful, not just BD is ungrateful. JMO

I get the feeling with this whole case is that the whole lot of them need to grow up and start acting like adults.
LE is having a hard enough time just getting a time line, for cripes sake.
There is a missing child, grow up people.

Well, it's BD who is demonstrating in the media how ungrateful she is. Literally broadcasting it. mo

It's Ok BeanE no harm. It just gets confusing what is allowed up and down and it is just better to try to leave it all in one place. :blowkiss: And thanks Peeps.

There were actually several search groups from out of the area who attended but there were more local people than 'professional searchers' (as they have been referred to) who attended.
