You never ever have to talk to the police other then to show ID. Other then your child missing case it is best not to talk to police if they want to question you.

I cant help think it panders to the possible offender too much though :( It shouldnt be all about what suits the person suspected of a crime:(

So IF she wants info on the investigation of HER daughter LE can choose not to tell her since that is what has been stated...............what a piece of work. I thought it could not get any worse.....that must be some kinda boyfriend she has there...................NOT

You got that right sis!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:banghead:

We live in a wonderful country...........the other side of that is we give all our suspects and criminals plenty of leeway..........and we are known for making sure their rights are protected.

Sadly, for BD, I don't think there ever was a find Hailey phase. :(

Sadly, I'm glad someone said it. The 'cold effect' that BJD projected early on apparently wasn't stress or grief. I think she knew and was in a sense glad her daughter was gone.

IF this is deemed inappropriate Mods please delete. :innocent:

Okay - "IF" she hired an attorney, why is she calling the media? Wouldn't the attorney tell her to keep quiet and it will come out sooner or later? Why the need to rush off and tell the media? I don't get it.

Is she crying wolf yet once again, just like the PO that turned into a TO? Just like saying she wouldn't see SA again, but did so on Saturday night?

Above all, where is Hailey!!!

MOO

Mel

She called to cancel the interview she was supposed to do at 3, saying "my attorney has advised me against speaking to the media"

By the way, swedie, thanks for finding that.

So I guess this makes it boldly clear that SA and BD have no intentions of being apart. Hopefully they are discussing with their common lawyer, how to plea bargain now. They don't even write movies this bizarre. Waiting for the next curve ball. Nothing surprises me in this case, GEEZUZ.

swedie, this is not Shawn's lawyer.
He has a different one, this is the one Billie has.

For a lot of reasons it is best never to talk to the police without a lawyer present, the innocent have the most to gain by not talking to them. Here is a very good video that explains it. It is long but well worth watching when you get the time. http://www.wimp.com/coprule/

I feel like I have been kicked in the stomach...I can only imagine what all the searchers and CD feel like. And poor Hailey.

In the UK, you also have the 'right to remain silent'. My criminal brother says "no comment" to every question the police ask, his lawyer talks for him in court.

I understand that now 'inferences may be drawn' by excercising that right, and that if you 'fail to mention something which you later rely on in court, it may damage your defence'.

It's sort of sad that I even know that.

Sorry for the OT.
Question of the day is - How long will BD actually remain silent?

So I wonder, hmmmm, is the No trespassing order still effective?

My brother is an attorney and he has stressed over and over to my daughter, (she got into a little trouble), that the police are not her friends. That's not him be lawyery, that's him knowing what he's talking about. Buddying up with cops and being honest just doesn't pay off. If they think you're guilty, you can't change their minds by blabbering on. & then you're just left angry & with an attitude. It's best to let an attorney do the talking. Attorneys aren't just for the guilty. They do more than try to get guilty people off and cut deals. They help protect the innocent. MOO.
