They can conduct a search anywhere, but officers from the county where the searches take place have to accompany them. As for the judge signing a search warrant for a different county I don't know.

I have a question, which I posted in Billie's NT thread, but I'll put it here as well.
If they came to Billie's house looking for Shawn, and had a warrant to search his body, then why didn't they take him into custody? They arrest Billie instead, for lying to police and 'hindering an apprehension.' So why did they leave him sitting there? Had he already left out the back door? If so, then Billie wasn't lying... so why arrest her? If they found him there after she said he wasn't... I don't understand why he wasn't arrested right along with her. Doesn't make one lick of sense to me.

They didn't arrest him because they didn't have an arrest warrant, they only had a search warrant that they were trying to serve. Billie, on the other hand, apparently lied to the police when they arrived at her home by saying that Shawn wasn't there, but invited them inside where they found Shawn in addition to finding "dangerous" drugs which subsequently led to the charges that Billie was arrested for. When LE arrived at Billie's home and she answered the door, all she had to do was say Shawn is in the living room (or wherever he was), they would have served him with the search warrant, and it would have been over with but NO Billie didn't do that, she had to lie to them because obviously she's incapable of telling the truth.

I agree. I think he ditched his phone and he was @ Billie's freaking out and really upset about the search at Gra'ma's. The cops were getting close and she was telling him to 'get a grip.' So when LE arrived she did not want them to speak with Shawn --she was protecting herself, not him, imo.

BBM That sounds about right to me. He booked out the back when someone warned him they were heading up the road I bet.

I agree that they might have been after something else as well. Maybe he has a key ring with a flash drive or a wallet with something in it that they want. Whatever it was they didn't find it because I am sure he stashed it somewhere when he was on the run from Grandma's.

So if they got the phone from his Grandma's it COULD be what they were looking for,and an item he'd customarily carry with him everywhere. Either they did not realize they already had his phone when they found him, and they certainly could not have foreseen that in obtaining warrants.

I believe that in one of his comments, Toombs said that they believed he was in posession of CP.. To me, that means on his person, and probably relates to the unfound thing. The phone makes perfect sense, and if he knew what was on it, and how much they had recovered from his previous phone even after he deleted it, he would definitely have wanted to keep them from getting it.

I wonder if this shouldn't have a thread of its own? This is the first I have heard they found CP on his cell phone in the last search. I haven't read all the threads here today yet though.

Either that he would HIDE, or that he would NOT HIDE, and it would not be a big deal that she had lied "for a minute." I seriously doubt she thought she could (and would) be ARRESTED for it.

Now... since search warrants were being executed at the homes of Shawn's mom and grandmother, they had probably ALSO been asked if Shawn was there because they had a warrant to search his person. At some point, there was contact between Shawn and someone who shared this information with him. He didn't WANT to be "searched" and the available information about the warrant was vague enough that he didn't know specifically what they were looking FOR.

He'd certainly have been bright enough to get rid of anything incriminating (related or not to the CP or Hailey, including drugs or weapons) he was carrying, as he knew an encounter with LE was inevitable, and that his body would, in some way, be examined. He also high-tailed it over to Billie's, where he probably WASN'T welcome, both because she didn't want LE coming to HER house to see him, and because, as she had recently indicated, their relationship was over. He may have figured this was a good place to lie low, since Billie had been quite vocal in her disgust with him over the cheating, the child , and whatever other information she had gleaned from LE. He figured nobody would look for him in a place he was known to be unwanted.

The point here is that, like us, they did not know what a "body warrant" might entail, and whether it was to look for distinguishing characteristics not generally visible to the public or to collect bodily fluids and hair.

Did Shawn know what they were looking for and ditch it?
If not, what did he THINK they were looking for?
And why would he not want to comply?

If he had figured out that it was the "thing he usually carries but wasn't" (either because he had cached it somewhere in response to the ongoing searches, discarded it previously, or just happened not to have it that day) it would have been an easy thing to ditch it if he hadn't already and (appear to) cooperate with LE. I don't think he knew it was for something he could "take off" or ""put away." He either thought they had photos they were trying to compare to him, or physical evidence (beyond hair, which could be transferred among people living in the same home), like DNA.

I may have missed the discussion about this, but did they ever find Shawn, and search his person? If so, WHY wasn't he arrested? Child on HIS devices, including a cell phone???? I just don't understand any of this. They had a search warrant for him, but they can't arrest him?

Billie at one time, in one of her many interviews, said Shawn told her he didn't want to talk to police, so she lied to them that he wasn't there, but agreed to them coming inside, Shawn was there, they searched him, for whatever they were searching for, it was not on him.
He technically did nothing wrong, he let them search him.
Billie lied, Shawn didn't try to flee. What could they have arrested him for?

I am reading these posts backward, so sorry, but in Texas child is illegal, period. They can arrest him for that I am certain.

Does SA not have a driver's license? Is he a live at home and get rides from mom kind of guy? What a choice there, Billie.

And also, families don't always go along with LE. That kid was supposed to stay away from that teacher he was having an affair with (Mary Kay Letourneau), but kept getting with her anyway, I presume with help from his family. I'm sure SA had his mom sweet talked into helping him get with his true love or something like that. Families just don't always have the best judgment. I bet it was easy for SA to get a ride to BD's house.

Scurry Co., TX - Law enforcement find more , including child , on devices, including a cell phone, used by Shawn Adkins.
The reporter screwed this up pretty good, yes more including CP was found, but it has not been reported there was CP on his cell phone, just .
There are other devices that have been found with CP on them.

SA body Search warrant, I believe they were looking for the Micro Card that saves the pictures and videos you take. The one I believe for his phone has the 32GB, that can fit 12,000 pictures and 7000 videos. They can be removed very easy and kept in a wallet. This Micro card may have more CP but I believe it may have the pictures or video from the Dec 27th-Dec 28th of HD 0n it...

They may have also want pictures taken of his.....

My Question is Where was his Lawyer during all this???

If I read correctly, she stated she did not want him there...at her house....then why not tell LE right off 'yes he is here. take him out.' She is driving me nuts. I cannot imagine what LE is dealing with.:banghead:

I refuse to believe we are all that stupid....there are many of us here and we don't get it.....none of it....therefore I just have to keep telling myself that there is something else at work here and surely to God in good time it will be revealed.

cluc, I really don't think CP was found on Shawn's phone, otherwise I too think he would have been arrested.
The reporting on this case has been pretty haywire.
I think the CP has been found on the computers, that Shawn has been known to use.
seems to be on anything Shawn touches, but not CP.

ITA grams! Someone is talking.. I'm really really racking my brain with what could it be that he usually has on him..but did not have on him Thursday when they executed the search warrant of his body..and I really keep coming back to the piercing south of the border..

The one thing that makes me think this is not what it is ...is that I am leaning toward grandma being "the one" that is heavily cooperating with LE.. We know she gave consent to search the computer in her home a couple weeks ago..and they state this is the 3rd search of grandmas..IMO that means she given consent to search her house as well to LE.. I have a real gut feeling that it is indeed Grandma that has had enough of her grandson and is cooperating fully..

Remember SA's comments on the BTH that Grandma had A "DEFINITE" opinion on his hobbies of horror and movie making..He stated she felt it was "EVIL"..I think as I ve said many times Grandma wears the pants in that family..not Grandpa..She is the Matriarch of that entire family..and I think that she has let it be known a long long time ago just how she felt about Shawn's extracurricular activities w/regards of the horrormovie making.. If Gma thought that was evil can you just imagine what her reaction was when all of those twisted videos hit the national news..all starring her grandson Shawn..That means all her lil ol lady friends at the bingo hall..bridge club..charity work..etc..etc..they all saw with their eyes just what her grandson was about..and this was humiliating to Gma..I think this is when the tide started to change with her..IMO..

I think once Grandma had enough she has little by little been cooperating with LE..and can you just imagine what her reaction was when she was told what was found on her home computer.. With her reaction to the horror..Can u imagine her reaction to there just being regular adult on her computer..and God help Grannie if indeed there is CP on her computer..

This IMO would seal the deal for Grandma driving and hammering in the nails to Shawn's coffin.. IMO she wants this embarrassment out of her life ASAP..I just keep going back to SA saying she really thought it was "EVIL" and then for her to find out about all the deviant ..including child/beastiality.."evil" imo WOULD NOT EVEN ACCURATLELY DESCRIBE WHAT GRANNY THOUGHT OF THOSE KIND OF MOVIES...imo She may even feel he's the anti-christ himself...I just really really feel that Grandma is the one that thye are getting inside info and certain specific knowledge of things..its all coming from Grandma..

So in my thinking the info is coming from Grandma then thats what leads me to believe that it is not a piercing south of the border that LE served the search warrant on his body to no avail as he did not have it "on him" at that time.. IMO thats something Grandma would not be privy to having seen nor even have knowledge of..so as far as what it is "on him" I'm back to square one with not knowing..But as far as whose giving LE some inside info..My money's on Grandma Norwood..jmo..

SA has a driver's license and he had access to a black truck while he was living at his grandmother's. Not sure where he is living right now but I'm sure he still has access to the truck. This is not the same truck that was parked at BD's, that one is/was not running.

So if SA has access to at least one vehicle, why is he being dropped off at BD's? Obviously he doesn't want LE knowing when he's there. And I find it hard to believe that either his mother or his grandmother would drive him that distance to go to BD's. They have to want him to stay away from her. They have both been dropped into the middle of this and you can bet that they both blame BD for the mess that SA is in at the moment. Even the lawyer that he had for a brief time told him not to be in contact with her.

So who does he have in his corner who would do these favors for him? And have they done other favors for him, like hiding evidence etc?
