Agreed. And with the FBI and TX Rangers on the case, I think it would be even less likely they would name a suspect without cause or evidence. This is not their first rodeo.

I agree with you. I can only speak for myself; I felt early on that Hailey had possibly been murdered. The family received no ransom calls, there were no credible sightings.....
IMO, LE is right in possibly thinking Hailey is deceased.
By statistics alone, LE knows if a person is missing more than 48 hours-- they most likely are deceased.
I also think Tx. LE has info gathered from the cell phone pings of SA and BJD that point to something hinky going on the morning SA quit work.
I also think LE knows BJD's couch being thrown away was not purely for redecorative purposes.

Here you go. January 13. So it was 2 weeks after Hailey went missing give or take a day or two.

Now that I think about it, SA's interest in CP and his reading material interest like- how to kill a family member-probably lead LE to think something terrible happened to Hailey.

So I guess from the dates he could have been arrested about the time they found the , but we did not learn of the until Feb. 24.......

They were allready investigating him when they found the . The had nothing to do with them focusing on him, it was incidental.

They would have taken the computer originally to check out his claims about what he was doing at his mother's house.

That isn't true. The vast majority of people who go missing for that length of time are not deceased. That is only the case if someone is abducted by a stranger.

I don't think the cell phone pings have told LE anything, other than that SA went to his mothers house via CC instead of the direct route. That doesn't really help them since that is what he says he did and has an explanation for why he did.

They would have known about the couch before it was thrown away, and conducted searches before that, so I doubt they thing there was something suspicious about it. They certainly would have had the opportunity to inspect it beforehand.

I want to know if there any phone calls or texts on BD's cell that HD could have been tied to before the mysterious MB text. Anything before...including Sunday that HD might have made.

I think LE was following up on a tip in Tennessee at one point, too. I can't recall if it was Memphis or Nashville. Maybe someone else can remember this better than I can. Sometimes I feel like this case has been going on for more than 3 months.

As for "specific" reasons LE may believe Hailey is not alive, they have a lot of things and circumstances from which to pick: drugs in the home, SA's homemade horror video and mask collections, BD and SA's collection of true crime stories and horror movies, child sexual abuse videos and images, and the list goes on and on.

And that's just the stuff we know about. LE may have something else.

Her own mother's actions are at the top of that list, imo.

His phone pings would have sent up a big red flag, imo. I don't know if it has been discussed before, but could LE be that specific with pings in knowing he was at HD's house...as stated in that video from KTXS?

That report also stated the phone pings in BS were between 9AM-2:30PM...and that HD's missing had already been reported....which is incorrect. She wasn't reported missing til the next day.

I am thinking that he was initially named due to his being the last to see her and not being able to verify any of the sightings, and finding out he quit his job that day. All that is enough to make a person a POI at the very least.

Failed Polygraph test
Lies, Lies, and More lies
Friendly with the only Known Suspect
Wears HD clothes
Memorial Tattoo
Speaking of Hailey in past tense
Redecorating Hailey’s room not in a manner suited for a teenage girl
Obsession to slasher films and true crime
Relates to the killer in films and true crime not the victim
Speaking in negative words about HD
BD not Helping with searches.


In General:
Couch disposed of
Drug use by primary Caregivers
Not supervised for long periods
C on Electronic devices
No sightings of Hailey anywhere
Conflicting stories
New Years eve Party


And Possible:
Somethings found in all the searches LE did.

I disagree with this statement. SA did say he went to his mother's house, but he said he went there straight from work, not via CC. BD admitted that it made no sense for him to go back through CC to get to Big Spring from his job. Going through CC is the long way. There's a shorter direct route he would normally have taken.
